READ THIS CLEARLY: PLEASE DO NOT POST GOOGLED ANSWERS!! OR LYCOSED ANSWWERS!! OR MUNKYED ANSWERS!! YOU ARE RUINING IT FOR EVERYONE ELSE!! One of the last great games thread... ANSWERS ARE POSTED FRIDAYS AT MIDNIGHT UNLESS PEOPLE ASK FOR MORE TIME. BUT DON'T WAIT TILL THEN. SHOW ME WHAT YOU HAVE! I love riddles. OK, this first one's easy and I heard it again today, motivating me to make this thread, but I have some much harder ones I've collected over the years. Guess anything sensible, it'll help clear out other answers and get peoples' brains moving, and keep the thread in veiw. But no spamming random answers, please! And you can put up your own too, but put RIDDLE #: so we can find them easily throuh all the answers. RIDDLE 1: Difficulty level- Pokemon out of Akira (1 out of 5) A man walks into a bar, asks for a glass of water. The bartender pulls out a shotgun! The man says, "Thank you." and leaves. Why did the man leave and say thank you after that? ![]() Ranpha says, "think hard and I may reward the first person who answers correctly... |

HA HA very good, here's your prize, another riddle! Also not too hard, but not terribly easy. RIDDLE 2- Difficulty Level: Cowboy Bebop out of Akira. (3 out of 5) A thief in a village was caught stealing. The king was known to be lienent but also cruel and therefore said, "I will let you decide your own fate, if you live through this you go free. I will give you 1000 bottles. 500 are filled with water, the others are filled with poison. The bottles all look the same. I will also give you two indentical boxes, you can place any number of the bottles any way you like in these two boxes, as long as you have at least two bottles per box. And you can keep taking bottles in and out as you make your decision. Then you will drink all the bottles you placed in the boxes (that's at least four he has to drink)." The bottles are black and the contents cannot be seen, and it cannot be poured out and felt, as it is deadly to even touch. Also it cannot be smelled, the fumes would kill you. This poison is very chemically complicated and extremely deadly, made to kill as soon as you open the bottleand take in the fumes! Individual bottles all feel about the same weight to the thief. UPDATE: Let me phrase it this way as another hint: In what ways can the thief INCREASE his chances in order to insure he survives this test? No more hints, I've given enough clues! |

Ooooh, you almost had it!!! we'll say that's good enough. ANSWER TO RIDDLE #2: There are as many ways to solve this riddle as there are versions of it. In order to increase his chances of survival, here's a method. A individual bottle of poison may seem to be as heavy as a bottle of water, but SEVERAL bottles of poison will seem heavier than several bottles of water. The thief uses his time to take two groups of several bottles and places them in the boxes. We'll say ten or twenty have a noticable difference. Once he has a noticable difference in weight, he chooses the heavier box, and keeps comparing boxes and switching out bottles until he has the heaviest possible box! Now, keep that box, that is a box of mostly, if not all, poison. Now, keep switching out bottles to create boxes of that heavy weight box, and eliminate those choices. Eventually, he will run through almost all his poison bottles, and then he can perform the same experiment on his leftover bottles until he has maximized his chances to create a box of water bottles. I should add my own part; that the thief had a year or something to figure this out, but that's not in the original version... I'll also up the difficulty level of this riddle. This one is VERY hard, and it has circulated the internet a lot. This is the latest version. Read the clues carefully.. RIDDLE 3: difficulty Akira out of Akira (5 out of 5) A slightly retarded man who came from a large somewhat wealthy family and could swim very well is swimming in his clothes and comes to this beach. He is VERY sunburned. He walks into a restuarant and demands fresh water. They give him some. He thanks them and asks for food now, they offer a menu, he chooses Gull Soup, something he had recently that tasted good. After taking one bite, he becomes extremely upset and runs out the restaurant screaming and gets hit by a car on the road. What happened that made him so upset? |

| In a way, the gull soup makes him realize something, pertaing to where he just swam from...remember, he's retarded, has a rich family, and why would he be in his clothes still? Let's add this as a clue: He is VERY sunburned... |

Gull= Seagull? Maybe he was on the beach wearing clothes to prevent sunburn while waiting for a seagull to land on him [ I don't know why he want to be near the seagull. I think it has something to do with the rich ( pets?)]. Yet, it took quite a while thats why he is sunburned. Because he loves the the seagull (maybe it looks like his pet?), he put a ring on it(well...rich retarded people....). Then when he was hungry he ordered a gullsoup (since he was retarded, he don't know what it is). After taking his first bite, maybe he bit the "ring" or something...WELL I DON'T KNOW!!!! XD

I don't think anyone is going to get this, so here is the answer, and I'll explain it through it's clues: He's sunburned: he has been at sea or outside for a long time. He's from a large family: In order for him to be out at sea for a long time, he has to be escorted, since he is retarted...they would not let him be out for too long since they are in charge of him, and he has been out for too long, therefore, he has been forced to be out too long. All circumstances for this outcome mean he lost was out at sea (supported by the hunger and thirst) , and the swimming in clothes indicates that he was out with his family beforehand. His family is wealthy: They have used a boat, most likely, and therfore were lost at sea with him, probably on a dead boat or stranded on an island. He swam to the shore from a stranded point: If he came from a distance where one determined could swim from, he was near seagulls. He recently had gull (seagull), at least he was given some before. It was NOT seagull though, indicated by his reaction. It was recent too, for deductive purposes, we'll say it was while he was stranded; makes sense since he was close enough to seagulls. He is retarded and therefore gullible: He was given something and told it was gull soup- that he meat was from seagulls. But it wasn't seagull. It was something else, something that shocked him. At sea, people die and when trying to survive, they may resort to eating each other or their dead... But a retarded person may have trouble understanding this. He is gullible (gull, another clue), and can be told anything, espesially under such dire circumstances... Therefore, with these clues, we can come up with this: He was fed his dead family members at sea and told it was gull. When he ate the gull at the restaurant, he realized where his family members who disappeared went off to, and what he really ate... This seems extremely difficult to come up with, but that is why it is so hard, it takes a lot of analysis and deductive reasonin with the clues presented. That is why this is known as on eof the hardest riddles available out there. OK, back to the easy riddles... RIDDLE 4: Difficulty: Pokemon out of Akira (1 out of 5) Presented with this choice, between taking two freinds to the movies at the same time or taking them to the movies seperatley, does one method cost less than the other, or are they equal? |
