Just bought it yesterday.... Pretty awesome so far, as to be expected from Square Enix of course ^_^ |
Re: Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria

*Sigh* I think you meant Tri Ace and not Square Enix. (SE are just the publishers) It's an great prequel(story wise) to VP. So far, I'm enjoying the game, still waiting for Rogue Galaxy. |

I wish I have a PS2 or whatever it is I need to play this game on :( I've only played the first one so far *sigh* I really, really want to know how the story goes from Silmeria's point of view. And yes, it doesn't hurt to know that the lovely graphics also have something to do with it ^^; |

I do not regret going through the disk madness of Valkyrie Profile. However, it's a bit too late for me to be getting an import NOW, when VP2 is gonna come kinda soon. If it's a prequel, all the better because I don't remember understanding VP1 extremely well, and it's been ages since I last beat it, heh. :3

Well Styxdivine you can always play the PSP version if you missed the 1st time around. Anyways i finished the game already & in the process of going through the Seraphic Gate A 2nd time around. I heard the "Gate" gets tougher everytime you finish it. The new system took some time to get used to...where you have to move around to get close to the enemy to attack....DASHING is REALLY important!!! The first person you battle in the "gate" is a treat for Star Ocean fans....but as usual the Iseria Queen is a brutal SOB....so is Freya!! Still i love every minute of this game & highly recommend it if you haven't played it already. This is one of the most challenging games i've played in a long time....where levelling up is a must. |

Being a VP fan, the second I heard out about it, I went to do some research on it and I'm getting it. I prefer not to play the english version since I can read a fair amount of japanese. |
Re: Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria

This game was pretty hard couldnt figure out the skill learning thing and you need materials to make good items. TOoo time consuming more that the FF series. Plus the story wasnt as sad as Valkyrie profile 1. The music wasnt even good as the first one either. I prefer the original sadly to say well the graphics were really goood in this one though Alicia is soooo pretty and hot even the angry look of silmeria too. One thing to add They are reallyyyy ugly with those stupid dumb valk helmets on they should really go around without it or have those Tiara's like sailor moon hehehehaha its just my opinion... |

yea I am playing the game now (jp version). I haven't played the first one, but I quite like this one, a good break from a long chain of tales games for me. And hearing saber's voice (silmeria's seiyuu) is a plus :) |

The english version is not that bad...the lip-synching is kinda off though. The majority of the voices are quite good (LEZARD!!!!) & Megan Hollingshead reprises her role as Lenneth. Jennifer Sekeguchi does an excellent job as Alicia. Though it doesn't compare to the japanese version it's still one of the better localizations. @ ç ´å£Š Oh the story gets pretty deep in the later half of the game....there's a unique relationship between Rufus & Alicia. In the original your helping Odin battle the Aesir...this time around Odin is the enemy. Though there is someone in the shadows with alterior motives *spoiler*. The same person does the music for Silmeria (Matoi Sakuraba)...when you finish the game the first time you can unlock the original battle theme...pretty neat. The skill learning i agree can be time consuming....but once you recieve the items needed to learn the skill it's simple. Recieving items from the enemies all depends on luck...& what part of the enemy you "break" off. Each part can net you items. Entering "break mode" gives you a higher chance of netting the item. Like i said it's one of the most challenging games i played in a long time which is refreshing. All the hard work levelling up your characters pays off in the end. Though my only gripe is the ending is pretty short....T_T |

@ fr3@kzzz If you want a deeper explanation i suggest checking it out on Wikipedia Valkyrie Profile. If you want a brief understanding...well you are Lenneth a valkyrie sent by Odin the lord of all gods to recruit the souls of fallen warriors (Einherjar) worthy enough to battle in Ragnarok...the final battle beteen the Aesir (you) & the Vanir. Though just like Silmeria there is another faction working under the shadows which is a deeper threat. An interesting love is set up between Lenneth & Lucian (one of the Einherjar) who sees his former love Platina in Lenneth. Platina in fact is the human idenity of Lenneth before she was reborn as a Valkyrie. Each valkyrie has a human identity when they are not gods. Lenneth is Platina, Hrist in the game Silmeria is *spoiler* & Silmeria is Alicia..former princes of Dipan. The PSP version gives a little more into the plotline that will eventually set up Silmeria. The part of the game when you are in Dipan is explained more. |
Re: Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria

simply awesome, i have the game and is more, an i mean MORE!!, fantastic than the valkyrie profile 1 for psx, the grafics are ones of the most awesome ones that i ever see in other rpg games. The character are good, but the super moves are not the great thing that was in the first game, and magicians only can make one great magic, in the fisrt one it dependes of the magic equiped in the character, but here NOT!!!!!, only one for each character and only i can see four of this in all the game. im in the ultimate chapter, and i save in the ultimate save point, (i think so) and the opcion of seraphic gate dont apper in the tittle screen. the sealstone are a good point in the game from my point of view, especially the one can make you win exp x 2, with this the level up are easy to make, and when you left away one soul this reborn in midgar, and some show you news missions, this i really love it. A very beautyfull game. |
