I'm a HUGE fan of Valkyrie Profile!!!! Just like Final Fantasy IV i remember everything by heart! So i'm eagerly awaiting the remake for the PSP & the "semi-sequel more like prequel" Silmeria. The only difference between the 2 originals is that the PSP version has all new CG cutscenes....most of the main game is the same as the PS version. Be warned though the game has some annoying glitches....ala the original. For example sometimes the game will "freeze" if an enemy uses great magic only if Lenneth is the only character. Also when Lenneth uses her level 4 Nibelung Valeste (bow version)....there are more but these 2 are the most frequent. Hopefully the english version will have these fixed. RELEASE DATE SET FOR JULY 18th 2006!!! As for Silmeria....this is probably my most anticipated game of the year (even more so than FF 12...though i hear this game is a tad disappointing). Set in Dipan 100 years before the original....Dipan is the place in the original where you fought the headless king. This game shows what happened to the city & why it was destroyed. You play the role of Silmeria (Lenneth's sister & the one trapped in crystal at Brahms castle) In videos & screenshots there are a few familiar faces (Arngrim & Lezard show up just like the scene in the original)...the battles are exactly the same (SWEET!!!) only more flashier. RELEASE DATE IS SET FOR SEPTEMBER 2006!!! I already pre-ordered my copy!!!  |

i've been thinking. how come Arngrim can be in Valkryie Profile Silmeria. Valkryie can only recruit souls rite? if he already died once in Silmeria then what the heck he is still alive in the time of Lenneth? the time gap is 100 years rite ><  by set-chan

@ Ijut...^^ Remember in the original when Lenneth went back in time and saw her sister Hrist & company destroy Dipan & kill the king. There was another Arngrim...Jelanda....& i think Mystina. Well i figure they were the same people but with different names....(they just look like them but we never get to hear what their names were)...they probably got reincarnated which is why they're alive 100 years later. Just a guess but it sounds reasonable. I assume a few characters from the original are in Silmeria but under a different names.....cause is swear in the screenshots there was an Arngrim look-alike & Lezard look-alike! Doesn't matter really...this game is the game i've been waiting for ever since i played the original!!!! Just countin doun the days before its release! |

@ Nara Shikamaru or anyone else curious about this....^^ Well yes & no...for the most part the game is based on Norse Mythology but a few themes have been tweaked by Squenix (Enix) to fit the game. It'll take me too long to explain it in detail so i'll give you a link that i read that explains alot. Norse Mythology in Valkyrie Profile courtesy of GameFaqs @ joycemari...^^ The game is not really the hardest games ever...but it does take some brains to get the good ending. Leveling up characters is quite difficult early on until you get specific items to help...ie "Coin of Fortune"...some boss battles are extremely hard...BLOODBANE!!There are other factors that make the game hard...but once you get more & more characters the game gets easier.Still leveling up your characters is probably the most annoying early on. And like in all Enix games the secret dungeon (Seraphic gate) is quite a challenge....here you'll meet the hardest "normal" enemy in any RPG...the DREADED HAMSTER!!!! These little guys are a pain is the @$$!!! If you played the game & fought them (especially unexpectedly) you'll know what i mean. |
