Is it always ok for the good guys to win?
Link | by avextrax on 2006-05-02 19:20:34
1. Yes, it their destiny.
2. No, it unfair for the Villain.

Why, does it always 95% of the time in Movie, Anime, T.V. Series that the good guy always win... Don't you think is kindda boring that it would always end it up that way...

its western influence. other cultures acknowledge that things are yin and yang not good and bad. after the influence, everyone now expects the "good" to win. as long as the losers are alive the winners r evil n viceversa.

its true that this kind of thing is sometimes annoying, so repetitive and cliche that it sucks. It's frustrating that even if the vilain is good enough to beat the hero, it doesnt happen. *curse* I, myself, like villains most of the time. They have the guts and angst. yeah, you guys rock!

However, those so-called villains we like (in anime) are so much different from the american movies and the likes (ah, ya know what i mean). Anime villains, arent that bad (sesshoumaru for example), and they do somehow end up with the good side, though they dont admit they do give a damn *aside from the fact that they're good-looking*

My point is, it just seems right that the Super-ultimate-extremely worst villain die or get beaten up by the heroes (orochimaru for example). I, however, thank those villains for spicy-ing the story.

well depending on the show, movie, etc...sometimes if ever the bad guy wins, he will "win the battle, but has not won the war", meaning the good guys will strike back and prevail!!

but truthfully, to me..it does get boring, but good guys winning over bad guys kinda matches up with the whole scenario alot better ß)

Ha! This would be a great place to plug my game, but I'm not going to :P

Yes, it gets extremely boring, not to mention unbelievably unrealistic. How the hell do you think the world ended up this way, anyway?

I think that if the bad guys (well, there aren't bad/good guys in the real world, either) won, I think people would have a problem with it being too realistic :P

yeah i hate the good guy wins crap..
but there r sum scenarios that might have been where the villian actually won the battle and the war. it may seem different to other people but to me i saw Cao Pi and the entire Wei kingdom as evil, and they were the last kingdom to fall, which ended up creating the Jin dynasty.

The good guys in my point of view, was Liu Bei and his sworn brothers from the Shu kingdom. i hated them all, because they look so lame and lost alot of battles.

there are some plots in major movies that plan for a victory for the villain, but in order to satisfy studio ratings and sales, they often have to modify the ending. in the comedy flick "Dodgeball" is an example, the original ending was seen as "a bad ending" and wanted the audience to go home happy etc, so they made the good guys win the championship etc.

Its not a matter of whether good or bad wins. The thing that wins is power. Bad people don't get much of a following because no one likes them. Its always the lone evil lord versus the party of the knight, the magician, the theif, and the healer.

It 4vs1, thats why evil always loses.

But its not always the case that the evil guy gets outnumbered... there are alot of movies, games and animes where the evil guy has much more power and has more allies, but falls at the last stride to the good guy.

a tiny example would be LOTR... if i recall correctly

The reason the good guys won in LOTR. Is because the had ghosts on their side and the undead always wins.

I mean you saw how the battle went on forever, then the ghosts come and wipe the entire Mordor army out in seconds.

A few movies stray away from the course of good will win....

In Star Wars:Empire Strikes Back.....the bad guys did win the battle...they lost the war of course but still...

Also the last prequel did the same....the Republic (empire) won the battle.

Bad guys will win their respective battles but in the end they'll lose the overall war.

Bad guys are usually the coolest most memorable characters.....however we're in a society that don't root for evil....good must ALWAYS prevail.

I think the plot part that the good guys always win has been overused. I now find it very boring.

Even so if the bad guys always wins there wont be peace in the anime anymore right?

Experience is not what happen to you, but what you do with what happens to you!

it is not always the good guys who win in the process of animations or of the manga creations. better say, the bad guys win at the beginning and lose at the end of the show. if bad guys still win, most of the spectators would think that the anime or the manga is not yet ending.

good guys always have to win at the end of every story since it's what most of the fans are after. some even got frustrated or disappointed of the anime if say the lead character or at least those who held supporting roles die at the end. some even dream that their most sought-after bad guy would become good guy before the end.

can you have good guys with bad attitudes? i am writing a story with bad guys holding the lead roles. hehe... they kill people, massacre groups but they are good. and like any other anime known, they will lose at some point but will always win in the end.

1. It's not their destiny, it's the writers whelm.
2. Life is not fair.

In man vs. man, yes, I can't remember a single movie/show where the villains win (no matter how cool, more powerful, stronger, smarter, etc. the villain is).

In man vs. nature, there are a few show/movies where the hero dies at the end and nature prevails.

Anyway, if I can remember all the tragic movies that I've seen I might be able to name a few where the villains win and the heroes loses, but I'm having memory relapse at the moment.
