Whenever I try and watch videos on youtube(Like anime and stuff.) there is a really choppy frame rate. Now the computer I'm using in my room is old and crappy, but I need some suggestions to fix the frame rate issue. Such as like RAM, Processor, Java or Video Card upgrades. I do have High-Speed by the way. |

Is this the same computer we talked about earlier? Does it have a video card? |

lol...Yeah, except it has a little more RAM now. Yeah I'm pretty sure it has a video card. I've played games and stuff on it before that have required a video card, although it's probably really out of date. |

Hmm, what do you mean by choppy? As in video/audio stuttering? |

Well, the video plays like it's running on dial-up. Even after the whole video is done loading it still doesn't play right. The video never plays smoothly, it always skips from one frame to another. |

Well, there could be a number of reasons pertaining to your problem. Update flash/shockwave, make sure you aren't running anything else in the background, try shorter video and see what happens, may need to grab a newer video card, might need additional RAM, things like that. Otherwise I can't really give you a big fix because so many smaller things play into this as well. Edit: Also noticed how Youtube has a lack of technical support. Blah. |

Crap, forgot all about my shockwave player version. Thanks, that's probably it. I planned to update it as soon as I got the High-Speed connection up and running, but I guess I completly forgot about it. I'll try that, guess I'll check my video card too. Edit: Yeah, but then again I have never really seen any 'good' tech support. |

That isn't a computer problem, Youtube.com's videos in general most of the time aren't that great quality regardless of the computer or the connection. The quality just stinks, that's why I just download things through torrents instead of streaming it.

I'm not very video inclinded yet on computers but can I toss in some of my theories. First, you said you got "highspeed" is that highspeed dail-up? If so, they state (in tiny print) that Highspeed only affects the loading of the web page itself not nessecerally download speed, video or increases quality of the video. I was bummed when I found that out too. But if you have DSL, Broadband, etc. there might be a problem in your line like conflicting signals or, god forbid, someone is hacking or piggybacking your line. Sometimes also the way that YouTube displays it is the quality that it is when it's up loaded in the first place. But even me, with DSL, has to stop even 5-10 mins. to let the sound and video sync-up again. The 7min/4sec runtime issue is a head scratcher but it might have been a typo. Also you may need more speed, or RAM, or even GHZ or maybe just a faster computer all together; yah, no one really wants to resort to that. Video cards (depending on which card of course) most of the time only clean-up digital graphics like in games and doesn't have a direct effect on the displaying and running of video files. I hope I'm not way off on some of these things and end up looking dumb but I'm really sure about this. |

It's the server itself. It's using a flash tool, however. If the connection's slow and if I can get the thing about the choppy frame rate, pause the video and wait for it to load until you see the moving bar (or seek) to the end, therefore when you play it, the video will just flow on to the end without chops. |

Or, I find, that if you clear everything in the Offline Files Folder, it works better most fo the time. Go to Tools > Internet Options > Delete Files > Ok |

Thanks for the suggestions, but none of them are working. I'm sure it must be the Connection speed or RAM. Either way I plan on getting a new one to replace this old one soon. It just has too many probs. |

@czetsuya- Yeah I've done that, but it's a pain to download whatever show or such I want, takes much longer than watching it on the website. @Karuzo- If you have no comment then why are you posting it? |
