Whenever I try to access battle.net to play Broodwar, it says this-y here: "Your internet connection is either very poor or is not processing UDP packets through port 6112. You will be able to chat, but will not be able to play games. .." The rest of it tells me to contact my network administrator, but he dunno what's up... >_< I've tried googling this for help, but that didn't help, so I was wondering if anyone here knew how to fix it, or anything that might be the prob... ^_^ Thanks for any help~! |

Meh, if your netword admin doesn't know what's up, he shouldn't be an admin. :P Anyway, I think I found a solution here. Long story short, you have to open up port 6112 for UDP processing. |

If you can explain how your computer is hooked up to the internet I can probably talk you through it. i.e.: My phone line connects to my DSL modem which connects to my wireless router which is connected to my computer by wire. Yours may or may not have some of those components involved. |

Riceboks: I kinda figured I had to open up port 6112, but I dunno how... and I think I may have a small idea of how to fix it, but I don't wanna mess up and kill my whole network... :X Besides, our network is extremely odd... once every few days, it'll sign out my MSN and them my MSN wll automatically reconnect, and a few other odd things like that... *shrugs* psoplayer: Nkay, I think mine goes like... My comp > my router My router > my bro's comp My bro's comp > somewhere, exactly where I'm not sure... I think into another router, and from there to I think this green-ish box... Thanks peoples for your help, I feel like a newb ^_^; |

It's cable, I know that, got nothing wireless XD And... I'm not sure on the speed, sometimes it'll take a minute to dl an mp3, but considering the speed it occasionally decides to reach, 900 kb/s... I think... As you can see, I know very little about my network, and I'm a little hesitant to ask my bro because I feel like I'm always complaining about it ^_^;;... |

under what conditions are you trying to access battlenet? Whenever I get that msg my brother is downloading like hell, and i get pissed... Hm.... and i have no clue about your setup lol.... Mine goes 2 computers > router > modem > who knows where.... Anyways, check if you/your brother is downloading too much while you try to play. Did you have the problem ever since you tried logging in? or did it just start after you started playing for a while? |

It used to work perfectly fine, regardless of who downloading what, but recently my interenet has just been plain and simply busted largely. Likr right now, it says "Page loaded in 0.0049 seconds." It took at least 30 seconds for this to come up >_< Ever since this sometimes-slow-sometimes-not, I couldn't access it. Once I figure out how to access packets through port 6112, that may fix it... |

Go into your Control Panel and look at Network Connections. Right click and get the Status of your Local Area Connection. Click on the support tab, and take note of the Default Gateway. (It's likely 192.168.xxx.xxx, where the x's are small numbers.) Type that set of numbers and periods into your browser's address bar and hit enter. You will be asked for a password. The defaults for username and password are usually either the words "admin" or "password" and will be listed on the bottom of your router. If the passwords aren't the default ones, your brother probably changed them in the setup of your network. Anyways, give me a screenshot of your browser after you get logged into your router. |

Odd... I can't view the status of my internet gateway... I've tried double-clicking, right click > status, and clicking the "View the status of the connection" button to the left, and nothing happens... >.> <.< My computer does not like internet, obviously ^_~ |
