Ok, not sure which catagory this belongs under, but games seems more of a fit. Has anyone seen the Silent Hill movie yet? I just got back from the theators and I liked it. But what was up with the ending? Anyone want to discuss that? And omg if I heard those sirens one more time I was going to break every speaker in that room lol. Just random thoughts!  Marse Hughes |

I just got back from seeing it now! It was great! Lessee, the ending was weird. Did they exist in 2 different planes of reality or something? |

I saw it yesterday opening day....a late screening.....oh yeah! The Pyramid head was awesome...1st time i saw that guy i was like @#$%! SH!T!...that's so cool! The part it ripped the flesh off the chick....that's cool! It was the 2nd video game movie i actually enjoyed (FF:AC the other)....the director kept the atmosphere of the game intact....taking parts from the 1st 3 games & coming up with a decent story from it.The use of "You're not here" by Mellisa Williamson for the end song was a nice touch. I do know that Sharon was basically possesed by the "demon" when she foolishly opened her eyes during the final carnage....only complaint i have....i KNEW the end was gonna be some bloodbath. As for the end end....maybe since the theme of the movie was motherly love...did the demon actually decided to take Rose as a mother? Or it was just a setup for a possible sequel.....cause that cop guy said he'll take care of things...maybe the husband (Christopher) will be the main character looking for his family....than the premise could be like Silent Hill:the ROOM. Just a thought!  |

I just came back from watching it as well. My bf seems to think that they all died in the crashes and their souls were to place to rest the souls of the others by sending them to their respective places. There is a line in there somewhere about limbo or something. In my opinion Sharon and Rose, as well the original mother weren't allowed to leave limbo but weren't punished either. I was wondering if there was going to be a sequel as well. I think that it would be very interesting... but according to those who have played the games they ruined the concept of the game. Apparently it was supposed to be a type of "personal hell" where you are judged for your sins in life and depending on how you react to your judgement determines if you are redeemed or damned for suffering. I personally haven't played the games because they are too creepy... I'm totally going out and buying the soundtrack for the movie; totally one of the best parts of the whole thing. |

I went to every music store in Lexington (kentucky) and couldn't find the dern soundtrack, so I'll get off Ebay or somthing. But those are interesting thoughts about purgatory and personal hells. And maybe there will be a sequal loosely based on SH3 (which was the sequal to SH1 lol). And I do agree, Pyrimid head kicks ass up hill both ways...IMO there wasn't enough of him...a guy with a fish cage for a head and a 12 foot cleaver needs alot of camera time. Maybe that should be the sequal..."Pyramid Head, the abusive childhood". Jason from Friday the 13th got it, so he should too! Marse Hughes |

Click on the "Galbadia Hotel" that i have running along....there you can find "You're not here" by Mellisa Williamson & other OST from Silent Hill....not the movie soundtrack but close enough. The titles are in alphabetical order...so just click on "S" and find Silent Hill on the list....the downloads are free but you'll have to download the songs individually. About ruining the concept of the game....most directors try to create their own stories....so if they followed the game it would not really be the director's vison. I thought the guy did a good job capturing the feel & look of the game....their were high levels of tension. The story for the most part was really well done....and the change from a male lead to a female lead also worked. |

Ive seen this twice now, once last night and again this night. I enjoyed it alot! The acting in the begining could have been better though. Besides a few corny lines and such I think this is a pretty good movie. But seeing as I love the original game so much, I found this to be less scary than the group I was with.

Whoohoo! I love your website Izumo! I knew you totally ruled XD. Speaking of corny lines, halfway thru the movie, the sound dropped at the theator, when the charactors were in the hotel. Saddly, I knew what was going on anyway. I think the script lacked at the beginnging but got better as it went, esp at the end. And when the mother put her daughter back in the car and said somthing, did ya'll hear it, or was it just part of the movie? Marse Hughes |

O.o *sighs* If the movie was like the game........I would like to watch it from seeing the trailer the movie is not better the the Rind or Dark Water or Ju-On.......Too bad....Scary Movie 4 is better LOL  |

Yeah i know that I am not the first with it but I just saw the movie... In my opinion (who is great fan and played with all the 4 games and ended them as well) it was not that scary as the game! Oh about the main chracter in the game you control is a "male" character and in the movie there were a women... its maybe only weird for me who played it 4 times now... maybe that is the reason why I couldn't feel the movie's gist! Hmmm by the way I liked it too but it could have been better! (Sry for the bad English, I am from Hungary :P)

Although some of the plot came from SH1... Its decent enough to say the least that its better than other US game-turned-movie releases... (But i was hoping for some multiple endings... might have some on its DVD release... who knows... Army of Darkness had an alternate ending) and oh yeah... Kudos to the Nightmare transformation... as well as trying their hardest to keep the SH flavor in the movie... (They did forget about the importance of the static warnings when monsters appear... only saw/heard the static once...)  Kneel Before the Great and Benevolent Cow! |

Saw it last saturday at the theatre, i was expecting it to be SO scary, but it wasnt (i wasnt disappointed, though). Since i dont play the game, some parts were quite confusing. A friend of mine i was with (who's a fan of the game) thought the story-telling (the later part of the movie where the truth were told) was kinda lame. The ending was... well, i think Rose and Sharon died, or something like that. Pretty good. The soundtrack rocks! ^_~ Hey, Lu Bu, it's been a while since i last saw you. @ Lu Bu, static's not really important (unless rose finds that baddie sonar radio?). silent hill's a very dark game, so it's needed. also, note the stupid & creepy fog! harry's not even good shot! i have not watched it, but next week for sure! ;) |

well... having a radio in the movie might spoil some scenes... but having it gives the movie the feel of the game... Should make up for a lot of scenes that switches back and forth from the er... "Cursed Realm" and Real World... oh... and I believe there are some scenes that were removed... can anyone confirm this... I saw a scene from the trailer that wasn't on the movie... The Protagonist was being sort of dragged by a bunch of monsters... hmm... the ending... i sort of think that the kid took the mother with her in the Cursed Realm and i believe all 3 personas of the girl joined together.... (or something...) that was why i was hoping that the DVD release might have any more endings to show as well... (hi to the others as well... been a while since i have posted on something...)
