Ugh, lost my entire collection of Dir en Grey, gotta re-dL later on. "THE FINAL", to me will forever be, if not their best composed/produced single in all ways possible. Well, maybe not TOP, but TOP 5, 10 for sure. Always said it, their older stuff is just better and understandable. "THE FINAL", "Kodou", stuff like that will forever remain dark classic hits in my head. Speak of this new single? Haven't heard it yet, but I do agree they've become egoistic (or could understand now). They still perform old songs, if I ever had a chance to see 'em live (had one chance, no ride) I'd still see 'em.

Used to be a fan. Now they're starting to change a lot. I loved their old stuff such as Vulgar and Withering to death. Fine examples of their Climax. Now, I just don't get it. With the release of the ASOM single, I lost interest. Not only that, they've grown to be egoistic.   |

Dir En Grey Uroboros: Review Rating: 5/5 This album was simply amazing. The style change played a huge factor as well as the music. The songs werent too hard or too slow, it was just perfect. Also i think after hearing this we dont really have to worry about Kyos voice. He really didnt do that much screaming xD. I never skipped a song and the English remakes of Glass Skin and Dozing Green were pretty good. This is definitally one of the best albums ive heard all year. Listening to it now, I have to say I was wrong with some parts on this new album. It actually is pretty nice, and there ARE screaming vocals (lows), near the middle of the album, but the songs entirely are very heavy and 'dark', typical Dir en Grey style music though. I'd have to finish listening to this album, but it might be my favorite album from them thus far, though Withering to Death, considering their album's success, is still up for grabs of being my favorite, and most fans favorite, too.

I listened to Uroboros at least twice now, and i'd say, its okay, not that bad .xD [im not really into DeG, so iunno, lol] the GLASS SKIN in it was totally sung in english, i believe. waiting for Kira to post a full review if he don't mind.   |

dear god...surgery in the mouth...Its to all those lives indeed. I was just readin up on that and from what ive read Kyo's voice is gettin bad and on top of that he's smoking. After a parody i seen on youtube (i regret it) i keep thinking Kyo is saying " i cant read" at the end of the final Im all for hardcore but they need to turn it down a notch. As long as its music coming from Diru im all good . No need 4 the career ending screams xD and i gotta wait like 2 weeks to get uroboros lol sry DA! Yup, they're going to try to incorporate everything this time. I want some screams from Kyo, but stuff like Kodou, The Final, maybe Umbrella even, etc. "The Final" has to be their best composed song to date, or it's one of their top ever. Before they were recording "Glass Skin", Kyo had like, surgery in his mouth or something. I forget the term used here, but it was kind of serious, but he can still scream. The thing is, he pushes himself too much when he's not a naturally born screamer (thus why his voice dies at certain times). This time around, they said they're going to get more heavy. Overall, I'm expecting a lot of songs to be slow paced and easy... and without screams. >_<;; We'll see by the end of November, haha. I just hope it's enjoyable.

Most likely it will be a lil mixture of everything like WTD and maybe Kisou and Macrabe (which in my view was the best album eva) but im pretty sure they will have alot of joints from MOAB and Uroboros on the tour. I heard they are changin their style which hopefully will mean not that much screaming from Kyo. And its scary that could be happenin 2 his voice...i love the screamin and all but i prefer the slower paced songs like The pledge and Undecided Part of the new age Gendou RP veterans: Kira, Rukia, KM Revolution, Smoker, Avian, L, and Ryu. |

It's just more risk that Kyo will loose his screaming capabilities even sooner. He's screaming the entire song, but he struggles in this one since he forces it unnaturally. Although they are known to have these types of songs, I just don't think they should use this style anymore. :O "Namamekashiki Ansoku, Tamerai Ni Hohoemi" unlugged version from Marrow of a Bone is a nice unplugged version of their song, though it doesn't really differ from the original that significantly (and it's a more toned down, less heavy/metal style). I wonder if any new lives are up on YouTube yet, on Tour here in the US. I want to see real videos of them, not stuff from fans and whatnot. Actually, I'm not even sure what songs they're doing live now. All new stuff for their album or stuff from Marrow of a Bone (earlier stuff).

More hope for screams from Kyo, a friend showed me the unplugged version of AGITATED SCREAMS OF MAGGOTS. This single was released on the "Glass Skin" singles album, and the entire track was screams from Kyo. The song is not appealing to me, but gives me a bit of hope that they'll incorporate screams in their new album. >:D
