Yeah that's true ケイ, you get to learn lots of different drinks. I want to be a mathmatician, but what's it take to dive too deep in mathematics that you go nuts? I don't ever want that to happen. Ah well, Star Wars is famous for their bar scenes. Wait... is that the Catina Band I hear?? |

I haven't posted in a while...sorry... Hey, Nightmare, I'm very sorry for what happened to your dad. I heard there had been quite a few layoffs in the automotive plants, but I never thought it would happen to anyone I knew. At the very least, your dad has a chance to get a better, more rewarding job. Hopefully, this classic religious mantra helps: "When the Lord closes a door, a new one opens." Here's to a better turnout! Good luck! Whew, I've had a cinematic weekend, just one movie after another...so far, The Aviator and The House of Flying Daggers have been the best. |

I have only seen a part of House Of Flying Daggers. But it looked good. I watched Millenium Actress this morning by Satoshi Kon. I love that movie, I can quote it! We are going to do something about it, I talked to my parents. Right now my mom is in bed sick and my dad is cleaning the garage. Do you hear that CLEANING!!! It is a real breakthrough, even if it is his space. I didn't eat much today, jsut some instant ramen and a pudding and... a cup of mint tea. Well I am off to laundry heaven. *salutes* Bye

Wow, miss a few days and the threads pile up on you. Well, better geet to the posting again *cracks finger* Ouch, my joints are still sore. 5 degree weather'll do that to you, with a wind chill factor of arround 0 to -5. Just a tad too cold for my tastes. There was also the whole dumpster catching on fire deal. Funny story that, my troop was all packed up and ready to leave the campsite and we could see our leaders' cars about 10 cars up the line. I was looking to see how long it would take for them to get there when out of the blue a guy behind us shouts, "hey the dumpster is on fire." Now you can imagine my befuddlement, it's about 10 and the sun is low in the sky still, so I thought it was a joke. Sure enough though, there is a good deal of smoke pouring out of the industrial dumpster. Apparently someone had dumped their hot caols into the trash, smart. Well at that piont they started calling for the cars to clear the road so the fire trucks could get in. This is the point in the story that I start to get a little angry, mainly due to the two younger kids in our troop that won't shut-up. Mind you I don't get angry easily, or at all for that matter, you have to try to do that. So I think to myself well how long could this take, all they have to do is get a truck in here and spray it down WRONG. They bring in the first truck, and by this time there are some rather large flames comming out of the dumpster. Then they start walking over when a nice resound BOOM, occurs. Needless to say people are ducking and the firefighters run back to their truck. The firs had just blew up a PROPANE bottle. About 20 minute later four trucks and two tankers show up and another 30 after that the fire is out. Now we're about an hour from when we'd thought we leave. We had been standing in 10 degree weather with a wind-chill of arround 0 to negatives. I had follishly thought oh I'll only be outside for a hour or so no need to put my wind-proof pants or my outer shell again WRONG. To put it simply I was cold, to put it more in-depth I was F***ing cold, seriously I could feel nothing, and by nothing I mean nothing. Needless to say I was happy when I got in the nice and toasty car. Well that was my weekend, hope yours faired slighly better. I can desribe in two ways, cold or if hell was made of ice it wouldn't be this bad. It's a dry cold. Nighmare, I know how you feel, my mom workde for GM about ~4 years ago, almost moved out there. She left on slightly better terms though. Hope you don't have to go though what I did when my Dad died, poverty and no taxes, all that good stuff. Roq, If you have Stars you may want to watch out for Steam Boy, verry good movie. I stopped watching movies the normal way since they installed our new cable boxes. Video on demand, yes, for free, kind of! Especillay the anime network on demand, so many shows to watch so little time. Hmm, breakfast, whats that. Is that at noon, or is at 4pm, or mabey it's that meal at 7pm. Oh well. Jomunga, belated answer to your question, yes I have camped next to a lake wth fish in it and yes I have thrown stones in it, but no fish come up when you do. intersting story though... Every three years my troop goes up into Canada for a canoe trip. The last time we went we stayed on Big Crow lake for one noght. The campsites there have sheer 20ft drop-offs into about 30ft of water. We were sitting on the ledge when one of my friends decided to kick a large rock off the side. Just as he did a beaver surfaced. now you can image our shock, there is a nice, oh lets say, 30lb rock falling off a 20ft cliff. Now the forces at work, be as they may, decicded that this beaver should surface at that time which the rock was about 10ft from the water. Again you can imagine our suprise when the rock lands on the beaver making a nice spluch sound. Needless to say we didn't see that beaver again. So I guess there is a hint of truth in the old throw a rock in and the fish float to the surface. Try an explosive of some sort, like in Crocodile Dundee 2. |

Dirtyninja you shittin' me? -5? It was -40 to -50 here a few days ago. But it has warmed up considerably. Don't mean to be ignorant sorry. Do you live in a warm place at all? We have a cold winter but warmer summers. Last summer was a piece of crap though, we had a flood and my good friend's house was destroyed. (She actually goes to this forum *laughs*) But anyway, off topic. Sounds like you had a great weekend, despite the whole dumpster lighting in fire incident. *thumbs up*

Damn, you guys can stand cold weather... It's like 60 here in California. Hahaha, first time I saw snow in Germany I ran outside in summer clothes. Brought wrong clothes there but didn't care. It doesn't matter when it's snowing!! |
Re: The Depression Thread Continued
|
It was like 85 here in southern california. To get the fish according to anime you need a large rock, 20 lbs or so. And you have to throw it at the part of the large boulder thats sticking out of the water. Apparently some shockwave knocks out the fish. But don't take my word for it, look at this detailed diagram. I'd go for anime over movies anytime. I have not seen Steamboy, I have Millenium Actress on DVD but haven't watched it yet either. I am sorry to hear your dad died Dninja. I don't know if you said it already but it seems that alot of people deaths had been reported on this thread. |

Schala, -5 in a tent, albeit -40 in haouse is still very cold, and if you were in a tent i only have one thing to say, WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN A TENT WHEN IT'S 40 BELOW, ARE YOU CRAZY. I'm done now. On a more somber note, hope your mom gets better. I know the feeling of having to clean up after your family, same thing happens after my sister uses my basement for her birthday parties. I'm left to clean up chips, soda, and god knows what else. 13, Ilive in Pennslyvannia, I have to stand cold weather. Like the winter of '97, 5ft of snow, -20, lots and lots of fun. Then that spring our basement flooded with the same height of water. Jomunga, I could never live in anywhere where the mean temperature is over 75. begin mind control: ₪You want to watch Steam Boy₪ :end mind control Actually I first put that info on the life v sucide thread, oh about 3 months ago now. Unfortunatly my life story hasn't changed that much in that time, wish it did though. Not pictured: industrial waste plant pumping stainght into lake Anya, welcome to our humble forum thread. Feel free to exspress yourself in anyway you see fit. As you can see, there are no guarded emotions here. I guess you could call it kind-of like a Breakfast club-esque meeting place. Oh, and preface some of the charaters that appear regulary when sero a.k.a.(smiles) shows up try not to be overwhelmed. Nightmare, I want to see advent children soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo bad. (I'm such a 13 year old girl for that) I'm one of mabey 7 people who liked the first FF movie, I do admit though the plot was a little meek. I want to see if Advent children is as good as I thnk it's going to be. Sachiel, never cry over spilled milk, or some friends' arival. Have you ever gone snow tubing, I think it should be an olympic sport. Mainly because I'm the best there is at snow tubing, I rub it in my brother's face too. I have to be better at some things, he is about 6'2" and is strong, by strong I mean near pro-football strong. |
