[@Jon] Yeah that's a questionable thing for me as well, since I'm only using GF. It comes out on the 7th, which is close, and since I'm using GF I might not get it, however it is on top of my gameQ and depending on its availability I might get it. If I have a game out by that time, I'll just trade it in and re-rent it at a later time. And yeah, 60$ for any game these days that have no replay value (non-shooters mostly) is pretty steep. But yes, enjoy Duke Nuke'em for how long you want, I was just letting you know that OF:RR was on my gameQ. If it gets in the way I might remove inFamous 2 for a later time as well. I just need to hurry and open up my spots again since I'm keeping the Sly collection for far too long. The mini-games are nothing but free trophies and I just recently beat the first one, I'll try and beat the other two this week and send it in by this Saturday. I have another game coming home already, so maybe I'll just return that, who knows, I'll work it out. But yes just update me on that since I hate for you to trade in a game just to play another with me even if I might not have it in time. Especially if you want to trade in OF:RR for something else if you end up not liking it. Not sure how co-op campaign works, is there mic work? Are single player and co-op different? But yes I'll let you know and just let me know in advance as well, but just enjoy your game as long as you want. Not sure how your eb games deals are, but I think with gamestop you can play a game for a week and trade it in the same week for full price. I think my friend up in college did that for Bayonetta but don't quote me (since gamestop can be cheap sometimes as well). And I'm not sure if amazon will accept the game full price for trade in credit though they usually have promo credit for pre-orders. I don't plan on buying any games whatsoever until like winter season, and I recently used most of my credit (have like 10$ left) on a mic and other equipment with it, so yeah no more credit. But I still have GF for the mean time so I can technically play any of those games for free.

Good to see ya back around Ray. Here's hoping you can sometime in the future get your PSN up and running. Gotta have some Black Ops runs again with the group before MW3 hits! The process you're getting on with thought seems intense. I commend you for working that out. >>; @DA — If you watched Trigun or Eureka Seven, JYB voiced Vash and Renton [lead roles] in both. Those are probably my two favorite roles by him as well, just because he does some amazing things with his voice -- especially for Renton. You can't even tell it's actually him voicing him, and he does an amazing job at the voice. For the game, I'm pumped to be able to play as the Vizards [or Visored, or whatever people are calling them these days. They'll always be Vizard to me] expecially Shinji and .. Ahhh, what's-his-face, silver haired fellow with the combat knife. I feel horrible I can't think of his name. I was thinking Ken for a sec. Anyway, Ichigo's progression will be interesting. They'll prolly give him a few moves that he doesn't actually have. Considering, you know, he has like -1- movie, lmao. |

I saw both and wow, he must've went through more puberty or something, his voice changed. Although maybe they redubbed it or something, who knows, the anime shown on Adult Swim in the earlier years, were redubbed quite a bit (Cased Close, Shin-chan, YYH, etc.). Ichigo is lame as a character and he's like the Goku of Bleach except now he can never die, where as in DB series Goku just keeps coming back. Although there's no Vegeta or Gohan to take his place in Bleach. And the person you're talking about is Kensei. Anyways, anyone pre-order infamous 2 yet?

Trigun/E7 were never redubbed or anything. All JYB all the time. As for his voice, it's remained the same for his normal voice for the most part since he was in Power Rangers [Mighty Morphin'. He was Adam Park, the Black Ranger]. He's got talent to change it, when looking at E7. [Also Yuri Lowenthal was originally chosen for Renton, but since his voice was deeper than what they were looking for, JYB came in and redid all the tracks for the first 7 episodes which Yuri did. Those first 7 with Yuri never aired or anything, though] Also for the Trigun role, JYB is voicing Vash in the movie getting released here. I've seen the subbed version, and it's a pretty fun movie. Brings back memories. JYB is also the lead singer of his rock band "Eyeshine" and they are really good. If you wanna check him out and his roles; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johnny_Yong_Bosch [He has a lot >>;] For the Ichigo/Goku thing .. Yeeeeah. But well, that's Shounen at it's finest for ya. Ichigo's character itself in terms of personality is cool, but his character as a whole is pretty much the definition of Shounen-Hero Type A. AND KENSEEEEEEEI. It was on the tip of my tongue with Ken, so I had it in mind. e.e; |

@Ray - Good to see you back Ray. Just like Shuy I am hoping that you can get your PSN back up and running soon. We really need to get through the rest of Lost Planet 2. Like I told Maiku though, I'll have crap all in terms of weapons, since I lost my save data when my PS3 died. I'll need to start all over again. So if it looks like you might be able to get back to Lost Planet 2, then let me know. I'll do my best to catch up in the campaign and upgrade a few weapons before we complete the game. @DA - It's looking like Operation Flashpoint: Red River will be a go ahead for me as long as you get it as well. As far as I can tell, it should trade in for around $30, and even if I don't trade it in one week later towards Duke Nukem, I still have to trade it in towards Catherine. So does it look like it will just be me and you playing it, or is there anyone else you know of that has interest in buying or renting it? There is a co-op campaign and mic support. You're always part of a 4 or 5 man squad in Operation Flashpoint, so other players just take the place of the AI. Co-op is pretty much the only way to enjoy that game's Campaign mode, since the AI friendly units tend to be crack shots at long range, but dumb as rocks in all other situations. During one mission, me and my friend walked on past a bunker while tracking a guy in a jeep, not realizing that there was an enemy inside the little nest. The two AI team members suddenly said "Rifleman, 0 meters." (at which point me and my friend said "Oh s***.") When I turned around to try and deal with the enemy before he could blow our cover, I found him and one of our AI teammates standing outside the door staring at each other, not moving, while the other AI bot stood four feet away aiming in a different direction. I had the chance to walk over to the enemy and stab him in the back multiple times because none of them were doing anything. In short, you really want to play that game's campaign with friends, because you will have a very frustrating time otherwise, especially when it comes to needing a medic. AI also tends to ruin the fun, since your friendly units can usually spot enemies at like 600+ meters, which takes away your chance to track them down yourself. |

[@Shuy] Vash was a good character for him, but Ichigo isn't so good for him (especially Lelouch). I like Ichigo's character at times, but it gets dumb but only because technically it's a Shonen style for kids. Someone more mature like me wouldn't be his biggest fan, and clearly I've stated many reasons why. But yeah, I guess they'll be more info and gameplay footage at least. Hopefully there's a demo if PSN is ever up before I give up PS3. [@Jon] I don't personally know anyone else who'll get it but yeah I'll try my best to get it from GF. I'll try to time my next GF (which I should get today hopefully) and send it in maybe by Tuesday so I can get it cause it's on pre-order. If not maybe I'll just wait until I see it's available and send in another game but GF is usually so slow and inaccurate. I'll just let you know when I get it, though I hate to make you wait since you'll probably want to beat it then trade it in. And yeah usually in war games AI is dumb regardless. lol, "rifleman, 0 meters". XD But yeah as far as I know I'll remove inFamous 2 for now so I can try to OF:RR faster. Maybe I'll remove all the games on my gameQ so for sure I'll get it! I'll just write down the games I'll want to play after that then. Yeah, I think I'll do that just to be sure. But yeah I still have my mic, whenever I get it I'll let you know ASAP man, should be fun. I'll just have to figure out controls and whatnot but it shouldn't be hard since I'm experienced at all types of shooters.

I thought he did alright as Lelouch, except for a few parts where he seemed to try and force his acting a bit. But with both Lelouch and Ichigo, I think he handles emotional scenes rather well. I've always viewed him as a great actor when it comes to emotional or dramatic scenes. However he/the rest of the cast from Code Geass, really don't compare to the Japanese cast. Take the ending [that I won't go into detail about], where the original version gave me chills -- even made me tear up a bit -- but the dub didn't do any of that. I even rewatched the subs of the original after that, and it still gave me the same reaction. For Ichigo, yeah, that's what makes it hard to get into his character as a whole, I agree. But don't be giving up the PS3! Can't jump ship with all the potential games coming out this year and next. Can't wait for E3 just for that reason. It's the first year I can watch E3 and actually care a lot more about the big titles, since I actually have a next gen console [PS3] for the first time [not counting the original DS and original PSP >>;] |

@DA - Awesome. There is a small chance that my RL friend will join in. I should get a chance to talk to him on Tuesday regarding what trade deals he can do, but he has expressed slight interest in getting RR (as well as WKC, so that the two of us can do some quests). It's a small chance though, since he doesn't have a part time job like I do, so he may just end up getting WKC. The controls are pretty standard, so you shouldn't have any problem at all. The only things that may be a pain are piloting a helicopter, driving certain vehicles and the squad command functions (only if you play as the squad leader). Helicopters are really difficult to control properly and are giant targets (SAM sites tend to be all over the place). Vehicles (specifically the armored vehicles) are a pain because they are really easy to get stuck on things, even small rocks, and so help you god if you take the gunner position. The only time you will hit anything as a gunner is when the vehicle is stationary. If it ends up being three of us playing RR, then we shouldn't have to worry about the squad commands at all. Even when it was just me and my friend playing DR, we could usually get through the mission while keeping the AI team mates at the starting location. |

[@Shuy] lol if I become a big star like I plan on becoming I can't playing PS3 all the time, like I'd have that free time. And I'm still worried if I'll be too busy to get BF3 later in the year and AC3 which I want to play as well. I'm only using GF for a few months so we'll see what happens. [@Jon] Oh sweet. I don't mind if you play as the squad leader. It's whatever really. Is there friendly fire in this game? I remember in another game I killed all my soldiers and stole their ammo. >:D Hmm I drove the helicopers in BF:BC2 pretty well, although with this type of game it might be different. No worries though I'm sure it'll be fun. I'll probably mail in the game by Monday or Tuesday that I should already have from GF. I cleared out my entire gameQ almost other than 2 other pre-orders coming out next next month or so, so depending how GF goes I hope to get OF:RR as fast as I can. Whenever you get it just let me know or vice versa then we can play together.

Yeah, that's true. Not to mention, forget the Star part; School alone can get intense to stop some of those extra activities. I'm hoping I can better manage my time this fall, especially when it comes to being able to hang around online and stuff. College has to be the focus, yeah, but If I go like I have I just feel I'll burn out. @All — This talk of some other shooters has me thinking, have any of you played 'Combat Arms'? It's a free to play MMO Shooter by Nexon, the same people who do Vindictus and some other games that I've never played or anything. I use to play it a lot with some old friends by jumping on skype and then getting in-game for some pretty fun times. Could be something to play sometime. Then of course there's games like Vindictus, a crazy-good-looking free to play MMO Action RPG. When I get my new ram next week, I plan to get into it again. |

@DA - Alright, well I'll keep you posted on what I plan to do, as well as what my friend plans on doing when I see him on Tuesday. Helicopters are just annoying in Operation Flashpoint because they aren't really well armed, you don't get to pilot them very often, and when you do get to pilot them you usually end up shot down by the aforementioned SAM sites. They are too much of a risk to use frankly. SAM sites can almost instantly hit you, which means that you can't dodge them or make a quick decent to bail out, and they have a very high tendency to instantly kill everyone on board. So taking a helicopter becomes a 50/50 toss up between getting to your location faster and getting an instant mission failure. Maybe this was changed in RR. And there is friendly fire. During our play through of Dragon Rising, I was shot in the back and killed roughly 6 times by the idiot AI. They tend to keep firing at things regardless of who or what stands in the way, and since they move around, it's difficult to tell whether or not you are in their way. You get most of the good weapons from enemy soldiers. You weren't able to pick your weapons in Dragon Rising, which was a huge nuisance, but I think that has been changed in Red River. Most of the time in Dragon Rising, you were given a modified M16 that had no scope (or a very poor one that provided you with little zoom), so me and my friend spent most of each mission checking dead enemies for a scoped rifle that they carried, which far outclassed what we started with. I should tell you that Operation Flashpoint is a slightly more realistic game than normal. Most gunfights are a combination of you crouching or laying down and taking single shots at enemies 2 or 3 hundred meters away, and staying behind some form of cover while you attempt to fire one or two shots at nearby targets (who are extremely dangerous, seeing as how it only takes 2 or 3 hits before you die, and only 1 shot before you start bleeding out). @Shuy - Never played Combat Arms. I had always wanted to try SWAT 4 on the PC (one reason being that my computer can actually run it), but the last time that me and a friend tried that, we were not able to even see each others co-op session listed on the server. |

[@Shuy] Yeah other than school, I'll have to figure out work as well since I'll plan on living by myself, and if it's a place where another roomate would help solve the rent, I'll have to work more of full time on weekends. But whatever happens, happens, I mean I won't study all day long cause I never study really, but I'll have free time, it's just if I use it to watch dramas or videos online or play a bit of PS3. [@Jon] Can you jump out of the heli? One of the new things in BF:BC2 were the use of parachutes, however you could still get shot down by the enemy which made it kind of fun (if you're the one shooting). It was also fun to stab your own friendly parachutes and watch them fall to death. Can you have friendly fire turned off? In most games, you can. And that doesn't seem to bad, I like sniping to some point and playing stealthy with a friend is a nice change of pace from usually owning everyone. And yeah I saw that you don't get to pick your guns often, I hate using guns that are almost random. Although with this type of game it'll make you think off your feet. I'm sure I'll get used to it so it shouldn't be any real issue once we start getting started. It's been almost a week since GF sent out my second time (still have Sly Collection), but for some reason I haven't gotten it yet. If I get it by today, I'll try to beat it today and then send it in by this week (or Wednesday).

@Jon — If you want a free to play shooter that's not bad, check out Combat Arms. I haven't played in awhile, but with my new laptop and soon-to-be boosted RAM, I plan to get back into the game If anyone I know plays it. @All — I mentioned it before, but if anyone plays the game 'Vindictus' lemme know. I tried it out on the laptop yesterday, and on low settings it works fine. With the added ram I'll be able to play on normal with no issues, so I plan to get back into it. @DA — Yeah I have to do the same. Can't be studying all the time or fully immersed in my work that I neglect some other things and time for myself. I tend to get caught up with going out with friends whenever I have free time during the semester, and don't really take a lot of time to just sit back and relax with some me time. I'll prolly have to look into some kind of job, even though right now I don't HAVE to work, but I want to find something so I can do some extra things, and not have to rely on working for my dad occasionally to get some money [I tend to do work for him on the computer and some things like that to earn some money]. |

@Shuy - My computer isn't that great for those sorts of games. Tends to overheat easily. @Nekomimi - Um, thanks. You could have just PM'ed me though. @DA - You can jump out of the helicopter, but there are no parachutes (don't know if this was changed for RR). The helicopter me and my friend were riding in once before got hit in the tail by a rocket and I got him to jump out when I got it close enough to the ground, then I managed to bail after him while the helicopter crashed. It was kind of an epic moment for a video game, lol. Our guys legs were messed up pretty bad though. My friend's character spent the rest of the mission limping around. My friend said he's going to go ahead with Red River, so it looks like we have a third person. I'm not sure if he'll keep playing with us though, since he's kind of shy. At the very least, me and you will be able to play. He says to let you know that he's not very good, but I thought he handled Dragon Rising perfectly fine, so I wouldn't take that too seriously. |

@Jon — Ooooh, I can't blame you there. I can't play anything above simple games on my desktop, and I was only able to play Vindictus and even Combat Arms because I put them on my dad's laptop [3GM Ram, and a pretty good system for media/games he got shortly after windows 7 came around almost 2 years ago]so yeah, they're spec-heavy. Well Vindictus is, but Combat Arms has run on my desktop with just a good bit of lag. If you do decide to ever look into it or try it out, though, lemme know. I'll be down to play. Specially since the added ram coming in will make all games easier. @All — So Sony finally gets the PS Store announced -- for by the end of this week? – http://blog.us.playstation.com/2011/05/30/full-psn-services-including-playstation-store-return-this-week/ Now who knows if this will be the case, but I must say I'm actually trusting Sony this time. I don't think they would have come out and said it was coming back this week unless they were sure of it. With all the bad press they are getting, it would be even worse for them if they were wrong about this. So, I think it will be back. That means get ready to get those new games this weekend and put your gaming caps on. ~ |

[@Jon] Oh sweet, that's good to hear, and yeah can't wait for those epic helicopter moments though. Gonna be honest, I'm probably going to stab you a few times and steal your lunch money... XD And it's okay, is your friend going to use a mic? Are solo/co-op campaigns the same? [@Shuy] They say "this week" so many times, and it's never been the case once yet. But they should put it up before E3 arrives cause I want to see if I can get extra games on those other accounts. Would suck if you could only play them while on your account or something (if they changed the store dL or so). My choices are still going to be the same though (LBP/SSHD). Actually thinking about it, maybe I'll get Dead Nation if someone was thinking about getting it as well? Both games have online co-op but I'unno, we'll see. Hopefully there's new avatars (even if I have to buy). lol EVERYTHING must be discounted during this time period for sure.

Well they never said 'this week' for the store. It's always been the end of the month to get all the services restored, but they just never bothered to squash the rumors before last week. Like you pointed out though, after the PSN stuff of saying it could be back it not, that makes me think they wouldn't screw up again. So, I do think it'll be back. Hard to believe E3 is next weekend, though. I hope there are discounts though. May give me a chance to get the CoD map packs. Oh, and before I forget, that identity theft protection stuff is only offered to people registered on the PSN before the blackout. Because of that, I'm thinking that the welcome back package may only work on accounts registered before then as well; least that's what I'm assuming. We'll see, though. |
