ive just started the manga these past few weeks and loved it i hope to get into the anime pretty soon also soul and maka crack me up

Have u seen the news? Funimation have grabbed SE's license. And Rumbel and Tadashi subs have both had C&D's (Cease and desists) to stop subbing the show. :(

*sigh* Yeah, SE was getting real popular.. check these pictures I took at a recent con..   Chibi Medusa~!! Well, at least one subbing group put out their subs for 34, but I'm not too keen on them. Oh.. the wait...

Them pictures are amazing! Aww man. Chibi medusa is awesome. Well i've just downloaded up to 32 methinks on tadashi. but i'm gunna get all of his work to get the day stuff, as i already have rumbel for the night :) Man..the wait. It's pretty damn lame. Funimation suck!

well, somehow I'm still following SE XD, albeit by different subbers. It's getting really exciting now. We're getting to see Maka's 'Group Soul Resonance'. Whatever happened to Chrona? Haven't seen her for awhile now..

On Chrona's gender.. I'm not sure. There's no indications in the anime, and I dun follow the manga, so unless someone who's reading the manga can give a clue. XD As for me, even though Chrona doesn't ermm.. physically have the ermm 'bumps' for a girl, heck the same goes for Maka. So I'm leaning towards Chrona being a girl. XD

Pres, you're following the manga scanlation, so you won't know if the real text actually said 'kono ko' whereas the translator used 'her' instead. But, i think it was the same in the anime. Most subbers referred to Chrona as 'her' and I've also heard the word 'kono ko', in particular when it's someone older, like Marie-sensei or Sid-sensei when they talk about Chrona. Not sure if i've heard them using the word 'ojou-san' (young lady) or 'onna' (female/woman) with reference to Chrona. Oh well, just gotta pay attention in the later eps. I'm a bit lazy to rewatch the earlier eps to hear one word XD But yeah, it's sure been a long time since we saw Chrona. I didn't like the last ep that featured her. Chrona~! Dun give in to Medusa~! >_<;

well, considering Ragnarok was trying to lift up Chrona's dress in episode 22, i think most people just assumed that Chrona is a girl. Okubo-sensei has been trying hard to keep Chrona's gender ambiguous, and you can only go so far with english translation on keeping it that way. so, most translators decide to go with the most obvious one and make Chrona a girl. i started watching and reading Soul Eater back in the summer :D i love it. the characters are all so...quirky. they all have their little faults and such that make them interesting, and i don't think i can really put any above or below the others. but one character that really, really annoys me has been created just for that purpose...EXCALIBUR. i can't take Arthurian legends seriously any more. curse his theme song... in other news, to those who are reading the manga and are up-to-date, the latest chapter is out! very exciting, and i can't wait 'til next month...>_< why does it have to be monthly?! i mean, sure you get more per chapter, but you just have to wait so long...  |

@Insanity I agree with you about Chrona's gender. And yeah, the first couple of Excalibur eps really really annoyed me. It's good that the most recent one at least had a storyline to it, but I'd really prefer them not to show him anymore if it has nothing to do with the main plots. How's excalibur in the manga? Just as bad? or even worse?? 0_0 The anime has been slated for 51 eps, i wonder at which point of the manga the anime will end~? @Death Yeah, Maka and B*S 's new moves were awesome. So how come Kid-kun didn't get a new move as well??

Well I think since kid didn't get much power up stuff like maka and B*(the black blood for maka and feyblade for B*)He will eventully get something new in the future though i think

well, there already have been a couple signs that the anime's ending is going to differ, and possibly totally split (like Fullmetal Alchemist) from the manga, and may not even get to certain points. the first thing that's clued me into this is Maka using Demon Hunter; that doesn't show up until later on in the manga (and the moment she does use it is freakin' awesome, so i suggest that anyone interested go read it. it's chapters 41-43). i find Excalibur is less annoying in the manga, simply because you don't have the voice (or the damn theme song!) to go with it. but as much as Excalibur annoys me, i find him hilarious because he's just that annoying. the second episode of Excalibur was actually filler; he's only really shown up twice in the manga. Kid does get a power up...but it's actually only happened recently in the manga, so they may or may not incorperate it. |

I'm only watching the anime so i dont knwo how far everyone is in the manga but..... i like watching all sorts instead of reading them, even though it's way slwoer, it's better ( i think ) to WATCH all the action : ) I LUV soul eater !!! And my Fave character is Death the Kid- he is soooo cool ^^ Also i never watch anime in english- i liek to keep it original, the voice-overs are usually rubbish and bait and i'm learning japanese :3   |
