@DA If I'm not mistaken, Wipeout was free for PSN+ users, but as soon as their PSN+ expired, they were locked out of Wipeout (as well as their other free games). With the welcome back package, we can get Wipeout for free again, without being locked out of it when our PSN+ membership ends. If you choose not to get Wipeout with the welcome back package, you should still be able to get it for free from your month of PSN+, but it will expire when your PSN+ does. And Dead Nation is a downloadable title- can you rent those of off GF? @Jon I'll definitely be getting some Wipeout HD, and I already have the rest of the titles, so I'd love to join anyone looking for some MP action. As far as LP2 goes, we should play again at least until we get you back up to snuff in time for Ray to join us. It has been way too long since we played online. And yeah, something about WKC makes me really want to play it again. It just feels good as a game, and the world is great. I can't wait for the second one, when you'll be starting at the same time as us.  |

@All — Since Im getting Infamous and LBP, but will have that month of PSN+, I could download Wipeout HD through my PSN+ stuff and play with you guys depending on how many people you can get into a single thing. I've never seen what the game looks like or anything, though. @DA — Rofl, more like the Gamer Incident of the the Decade, haha. Like I mentioned on facebook before, I want a shirt that says "I Survived the PSN Blackout of 2011". But we'll see how the future of Sony looks. I'm confident, or at least hopeful, that things will go alright from here on out. They just need to find who did this, because they are still doing it -- another Sony company or affiliations was hacked, according to a video I watched from a guy on youtube called "TheGUNNshop" who has been pretty informative during the blackout. Long as the shop gets up, that should show us we're gonna be alright. Least for now. I hope.. ;_; |

@All - Okay, so it looks like three of us will be in. If that method works for Shuy then maybe it will work for DA as well. The last Wipeout title I played was the launch title for the PSP. I played a demo for the HD one, but never picked it up. @Maiku - Alright. I would like for someone else to join in with us as we replay through the campaign, but I guess no-one else here has Lost Planet 2. And yeah, I think that's one of the major reasons I'm excited for WKC2. I won't be late to the party this time. >.> I tried some quests on my own a little while ago, and the time limits are a lot better than I was fearing. I solo'ed the 'Kill 25 Monsters' quest in about 10 minutes or so by rushing, so having more party members would be a big help and time saver. Might give me a chance to slow down and take my time with things. @DA - Yeah, I already sold off my copy of Portal 2. Sorry about that, but it came up a lot quicker than I thought.    |

[@Maiku] Ahh, that would make sense, however I do have two Sonic games that were free on PSN. Those have not disappeared yet. How does it work when you use another PSN+ account? Cause obviously I don't have PSN+ for myself. I guess it only applies to PSN+ games that are free, instead of the regular free games? But the regular store barely uL free games for everyone, it's mostly for PSN+ users only. And no, that was my mistake, I swear I saw it on GF before which was weird. Sucks but my choices will still be LBP and SSHD, but what is "Fury" that comes with Wipeout HD? I think SSHD has online co-op as well, all these games have online co-op I think except infamous of course. [@Shuy] It's a huge blow to them, cause E3 is literally next month, however since it's back up before then that's good for Sony's image, cause if PSN would still be down by the time E3 came around, it would've hurt their image really bad. And yeah I wonder if a shirt would be made, cause I doubt Sony would laugh at something like that making t-shirts. And if you don't know about Wipeout HD, it's basically a racing game with hovering vehicles. [@Jon] It's all good I was just wondering, cause some people might still have it like Haseo. Just hopefully I can beat the campaign although the rest of the games on my gameQ aren't really anything worth rushing to get, and after Portal 2 which is on my top Q, are three pre-order games (Gundam Musou 3, inFamous 2, Catherine). Did you ever try to go for the plat? Haven't seen anyone plat it yet, but it seems relatively easy, nothing like impossible.

@All — Some news about the PSP and PS3, PSP games are going to be remastered and put onto the PS3 starting first in Japan and then hitting Europe and America. There's going to be quite a few games apparently, starting with the Monster Hunter series and then going from there. I'm really hoping they remaster Crisis Core and Birth By Sleep, and potentially the Dissidia titles. You WILL be able to transfer save files from the PSP version to the PS3 version according to early reports, while the PS3 version will have some additional features and specific games will support online ad-hoc stuff. Here's one of the related articles; http://ps3.ign.com/articles/116/1169843p1.html Also, I bought NBA Live 10 today and got the updates rosters which are current, since they didn't make NBA Elite 11 they did that upgrade for free. I got NBA Live 10 because I wanted an NBA game for awhile that was up to date, have always been a Live fan over 2K, and also because the game was only $24.03 at Gamestop with my discount. Another thing about the whole Sony thing, specially with DA pointing out E3 is next month, is that they've released their expected losses during the outage: 171 Million Dollars. Now that alone seems high, but it is actually most likely higher. Reading a couple articles and watching some videos, Sony would be releasing that number as a bare minimum in losses. Potentially, we may see news in the next few months of an even higher number after people actually look over their records. They should add in some more in losses and make the shirts! |

About the PSN+ thing and the 2 free games, does that only work for one PS3 or any account? Like what about PS3's that have multiple accounts on them? I'll try to snag Dead Nation and Wipeout HD as well as my main choices, LBP and SSHD. AND YES FINALLY PSP games for the PS3, DISSIDIA!!!!!!

Yeah I have like for other accounts on my PS3, and I just made a dummy one just in case. We'll see. Oh, and check this out, new Naruto game: So yeah it wasn't Ninja Storm whoever said it was the third game, but it's made by the same people so yeah, definitely seeing Ninja Storm 3 next year. Hopefully.

It looks as good as Ninja Storm 2; CC2 doin' great work as usual. @All — Despite all the articles and rumors, the PSN Store will not be back today; http://blog.us.playstation.com/2011/05/24/playstation-network-scheduled-maintenance-today/ I like how Sony never debunked the rumors, when it was circulating all over the web. They couldn't do some quick blog update to say it wasn't true? Really Sony, your public relations department needs to be fired and redone immediately. They could have easily said the rumors weren't true, but alas, it looks like it'll be up within the week since they say "by the end of the month" which comes in a week. Rumors look like they were just a week early -- unless Sony pushes things back again, which would be ridiculous if you ask me. We'll just have to see. |

@DA - I was planning on doing that, but like I said, selling it came up and happened a lot quicker than I thought it would. The co-worker I had it lent to brought it back and then the topic of selling it to the other guy came up about 5 minutes later. Like you said though, none of the trophies seem particularly difficult. Some of them just require a bit of screwing around to unlock (mostly the co-op stuff). I couldn't help myself yesterday, and ended up playing WKC for pretty much the entire day. I plan to get back on Legend of Heroes after this post though. I started making posts in my Adventure Log on GeoNet, although it took me 10 minutes to track down an apparently "inappropriate expression" that prevented me from posting my latest log (the language filter censored "fiddle". Freaking FIDDLE!). I haven't touched many of the quests, mainly because I need other people to help me with them. I have to fight two Trolls at once at the end of one of the quests, and despite being a much higher level than recommended, I couldn't do it because they had me outnumbered. Me and my friend discussed some of the game yesterday, and I think I've discovered a big reason behind why I hate the fact that my character is left out of everything and barely noticed by the story characters. Leonard is the main protagonist of the game. I, as the player of the game, am supposed to relate to or feel empathy for him as a character. I'm supposed to be involved with his problems and emotions during the course of this journey. The problem comes from the fact that the game requires me to create a character. The Avatar in WKC is supposed to be a representation of me, a physical form that I can take in the game itself. It doesn't always work like this of course, as not everyone creates a character that reflects themselves (some just make intentionally funny or weird looking characters for laughs), but it's sort of the way it was intended to work. I find it hard to project myself into the game via my Avatar and also relate to Leonard as a character. There's already a character in the game for me to relate to and sympathize with, the character that I created, but he is never really addressed by the other characters in the story except with a nod in his direction, which is an incredibly rare occurrence. My character is always seen in the background, never doing much and very rarely being acknowledged by anyone, so I have little to no interest in what is going on with Leonard or the Princess. I guess you could say that my created character makes me feel as though I'm actually going on this adventure and that I'm part of this quest to save Princess Cisna (acquire the magic McGuffin, kill the Sith Lord, or whatever it is Leonard is trying to do by the end of the game). It makes me feel like I'm in the world of White Knight Chronicles. So when my character is constantly being ignored and not doing anything of importance, then I cease to give a crap about what happens to everyone else. I think this is why I have such a problem with the player created character idea in White Knight Chronicles. If my created character wasn't in the main story at all, I think I would have a much easier time getting involved with the cast of characters. I would probably relate to Leonard a little bit more and maybe project myself on to him a bit, which would get me more emotionally engaged in what happens to him. Instead, I end up feeling like some unwanted loser that continually tags along with the group, who all do their best to act like I'm not there in the hope that I will eventually leave them alone. |

[@Shuy] Yeah it's hard to tell cause it's only a small trailer. lol Killer Bee, friggin' Hinata fighting Killer Bee... And yeah, I've become a big fan of the cell shaded games they made. The new Gundam Musou is cell shaded and it looks a lot better in my opinion. Not sure how the story is played out though, cause I mostly see that 1 vs. 100 mode (survival mode) and the boss fights almost seem random, so probably not much story, though it is a PSP game. But seriously, if there's what, Accel 5 I believe, Ninja Storm 3 is almost 100% confirmed, cause that's what the previous ones are based off of (because of the story, and the epic ultimate jutsus). And yeah, when the hell is the store going to be back up? I mean that hack thing is a tough thing to just forget about, but still. I see the ticker on PSN saying to check the blogs for more info, but they don't say anything new or important. [@Jon] Yeah I understand, honestly since I don't seem to get it earlier from GF, I moved it down on my gameQ. Other games I'm trying to beat before their next game comes out are Killzone 2 and Resistance 2. Although I know the story of Killzone 2 and of course I beat 3, I just never played it myself. Also added Black Ops as well, so maybe after I beat the campaign and get used to online again, party? I do pretty well in COD. Btw, about the MW3 trailer, did anyone notice that IW and Activision's logos were both on it? IGN must be mistaken cause their article said it was developed by IW and Sledgehammer Studios but distributed by Activision. Am I the only one who noticed this huge typo? Ugh, I really want to hurry up and beat The Sly Collection, but I can't find myself playing for more than one mission. Although I'm having no real trouble finding every treasure and unlocking every vault, it's just taking longer than I thought, and I have to remember, there's two other games after it as well.

@ Jon : I understand what you and your friend were discussing. The character you creating just stands in the background the entire game. Honestly, I didn't really care about Cisna, she was just a errand I had to do before I faced the finally boss. I prefer Yulie and Leonard got together anyways. I agree with you on having other people with you on the Online quest. Trolls will always be troublesome to take out because they always knock you on your back no matter how high-leveled you are DX. LOL. It censored Fiddle? Really? I never put anything down in the logs before. Don't feel like a loser. I used Leonard as a shield in battles as revenge, if you do that you'll feel better about being ignored.

I was really hoping for the PS Store to go back up tonight. I love checking the store for new content (to waste money on >_<), and after not being able to do that for about a month I'm beginning to get antsy. There are also some games I still need to re-download on to my new PS3. @Yuna - Oh god, you had to bring up the Cisna and Leonard thing. I still have no idea what they were thinking when they came up with that. Leonard and Cisna spend a little less than 20 minutes together and 4 or 5 lines of dialog (as well as a flashback scene to when they were kids, but I don't think a single word was exchanged during that), and I'm expected to believe their in love? No dice. As you said, a YulieXLeonard pairing can at least rely on the flimsy "childhood friend" card, but the CisnaXLeonard pairing has absolutely no base. My friend commented on this yesterday during a few of the story events and world map dialog we heard while I was playing. He commented that Leonard seemed to be completely obsessed with Cisna to a somewhat creepy extent, and I completely agree with him. Leonard does not shut up about that girl, ever. Every situation, event, piece of dialog, or anything else Leonard does always has to concern Cisna. It got to the point that I could not believe my ears when he actually felt bad for Kara (after the event in the ruins, I'll avoid spoiling anything). I fully expected him to insensitively blame someone for Cisna getting captured again, based entirely on the kind of character he had shown up to that point. I like Yulie much more (although she has her irritating moments as well), and I personally believe that she should aim much higher than Leonard. I kind of don't want to see Leonard and Yulie get together, because she deserves better. As for Leonard in battle, I don't use him. I keep him in the combat party obviously, because he can transform, but I always use my created character as the leader. I only switch to Leonard in his White Knight form, because he's not very good at it. I never switch to Yulie, but that's only because I never need to. She handles herself very well in her Auto Combat setting. I usually deal with being left out by making my own commentary as if I were my character. It would be great material for a Let's Play, but I'm not sure if I should take a second stab at that or not. Yes, I am dead serious. I had the text box full with my log post, and I had to go through it multiple times changing words that I figured would set it off. I avoided using the obvious words that it would filter, but then I went back and started changing words which aren't bad, but what I figured they might consider bad (butt, killing, impale, pray). It took me a while, but I finally decided to change 'second fiddle' to 'sidekick' and it went through. From what I have been reading on the language filter, it sometimes has odd choices in words to censor. People have reported that it has censored words like 'after' and 'bacon' as well. Speaking of log posts, I should really try and get a picture of my character on to my computer. I take one every now and then for potential log posts, but they're stuck on the in-game picture storage. I decided to have my guy focus on Elemental and Longsword skills. When the second game rolls around, I'm going dual swords all the way. |

@Jon : "After?" "Bacon." Seriously? I hope they fixed that problem in the second one. *snicker* Yeah. I had to mention it. I was wondering if you were going to comment on it. Through the entire story Leonard was "Cisna. Cisna. We have to hurry and find Cisna!" To share so many lines and little time with each other and yet the profess their undying love for each other. Unrealistic is the perfect word for that scenario. I was surprised about the ruins part as well. As for Yulie, she does deserve better, she gains a bigger part in the second one. If you check out any of the videos they put out about WKC II. The only characters that I really like is Yulie and Eldore. My characters were had a mix of everything. I was fond of the Bow for my avatar though.

That's great they're offering a welcome back package -- but you know, it's no good unless we actually get it. Also if you're enjoying the style of CC2, check out the .Hack//G.U Trilogy of games on PS2. They are probably my favorite games on the PS2 as a series, and some of my all-time favorite games. CC2 is the company behind that series as well. Another game coming out is Bleach: Soul Ignition [going to be Soul Ressurecion] or however you spell that in spanish. I can't the lil ' above the c. But anyway, yeah, it's cell shaded and being done by NIS. The PS3 Blog released new on it, and it's coming this September. Looks like it follows up until the end of the Ichigo v. Aizen arc, so basically the Hueco Mundo Arc through the Karakura Town stuff, to the final battle. It looks like a Dynasty Warriors style game with boss fights and whatnot, and actually looks pretty awesome. The voice acting in the trailer seems a bit .. off, though. @All — If I can get a software up and running to record gameplay from Minecraft, I'm thinking about starting a Let's Play and a Youtube channel for it. All depends on if I can get a program working that will run with it, and not fry my laptop [which I just got last week, and is what I use to play minecraft because it runs it better than my desktop]. Though the Laptop isn't any better than my desktop spec wise, since it was something my Dad was sent after his old laptop was recalled, but it is new and I think has a better video card. Hopefully it can handle recording and gameplay. If I do end up doing that, I'll let you guys check it out. |

[@Shuy] Yeah honestly I don't really believe anything they say until it's up, it's up and I can personally visit the store. Cause whatever they say to people and sites is a lie, and it's ridiculous. The Bleach game looks so lacking, but if it has Japanese subs that makes up for a lot of it. It must have original subs cause the voices suck in the anime/trailer together. It's just bad, and once again they do a good job ruining a good character's voice (Grimmjow). And yeah, apparently it covers the entire anime until Aizen, which is AMAZING though!! Someone online said it features like 100+ hours of storymode gameplay, HOLY S#IT!! That's pretty amazing. Yeah it does look like that typical dynasty warriors style, but who said those types of games are bad? People are haters. As long as your not randomly slashing random made up Shinigami to get stronger than it's okay. It seems you can switch characters throughout the story, so yeah honestly it looks more interesting. I want to see the boss battles if there are any, cause epic finishers like Ultimate Jutsu would be awesome.

Yeah, the sony stuff is just going to have to be there to really care about the updates at this point. Talking about when it will be there doesn't carry much weight now. As for the story mode, it covers the -entire- anime? I thought it only covered the Hueco Mundo Arc to Aizen. That was the way it was portrayed, anyway, since they said you got to relive the HM arc and all. All the gameplay was from there, too. Rofl, people are indeed haters. The gameplay itself looks really fun, and I hope you can transform mid-battle and unleash special attacks with your normal combos. After all, Ichigo won't be Ichigo without some good ol' GT spam. It'd also be fun to switch between normal-bankai- and then allow the mask to come on/off. I think having the mask itself be something that you use when you want for certain amounts of time would be a fun way to play and have a boost ontop of Bankai. It wouldn't be something you could use all the time, though. Gotta charge it up or something. For the boss battle, I think you can see one in the trailer as he's fighting Grimmjow. Be nice to see the entire thing though, and see if they do indeed do something like Naruto. I also really like the idea of levels and improving your character over the game. Anything with leveling that is actually well done and not a shell of true leveling is fun. As for Grimmjow though, yeah, that's what I meant. JYB is a great VA and does well as Ichigo, but from the trailer Grimmjow sounds horrible and even Ichigo seems lackluster. I know JYB can do great work though, so maybe the clips we saw aren't telling of how the whole game is. I don't know if we'll get the Japanese Audio, but surely subs for the english track. |

I read different things online, it might skip some parts at least cause reliving the days before bankai are pointless. But yeah there's definitely going to be a ton of story mode though, cause there's no online. There is some sort of lock system which is a bit weird but I guess that makes it so you can dash away then come back in. lol no point in leveling with Ichigo he'll still only know one move, although in an earlier gameplay video he learns Kudou... lol MAKES NO SENSE. There's definitely going to be some sort of combo system even if most of it is just mashing square or something. Plus playing with other characters only proves there's a combo system, hopefully it's something interesting and not just spamming. But yeah, I'm not sure when it starts in the story, although the Hueco Mundo arc is pretty big. The Arrancar arc might be the start, I'm not sure, it's hard to tell really, I'm bad at remembering the older stuff, plus with Bleach they drag out a lot of pointless fights and scenes which makes it harder to remember significant stuff. But it'll be sweet to see the Vizards so maybe it'll start during his training to obtain the mask. This is the first PS3 game for the Bleach game series so maybe they should start right at the beginning, unless they plan on making another which I don't see since we already know it goes up to Aizen's fight. I've only seen that guy dub for Ichigo and Lelouch, but I think those are bad roles for him. He did better with Ichigo then Lelouch though, one of the harder characters to do voices for, there's no way he can match the original Japanese seiyu who's amazing at Lelouch, the same guy who dubbed Ichigo doing Lelouch, I pictured Ichigo at a lot.

@DA - I really don't know. It's supposed to hit on June 7, which is one week before Duke Nukem, so I could potentially get it and then trade it in afterwards. That would only give me a week to play it though. I do want to play it, because me and my friend had a relatively good time with the first one, but it is at a $60 price point, which is really steep for me (I don't consider it a $60 game by any stretch). My friend is definitely not willing to buy it at that price, but if you are going to have it for a while then I may consider it. It would be great if someone else here plans to get it or rent it, but it would be fine if it was just me and you as well. I'll keep you posted on the decision. I will find out about all the new trade deals once June rolls around. If there is a trade deal for Duke Nukem (like a 50% Extra Credit or Gaming Guarantee) then I will consider getting OF: RR to play with you. That way I can trade it in towards Duke, which I plan to get regardless, after 8 or 10 days. Of course, this heavily depends on if you will actually get the game around that time and how much time you will have to play it, since I would only own it for a short time frame. There's no rental stores around here anymore since Movie Gallery went bankrupt, so that option is not available to me. @Yuna - I don't have anyone using the Bow currently. Leonard and Yulie are both using Sword/Shield combos, since I have a lot of skill points put in to that type so far. I may switch Leonard to a bow though, since I have him mostly focusing on Magic Attacks and not as much on physical moves. Now that he knows some higher level magic and area attacks, it might be better to keep him at a distance. I'm attempting to get my character some better elemental attacks, since I tend to use them to end my combo attacks. Other than that, he is mainly a physical fighter and just knows the major healing spells (Heal and Revive for example). I also managed to fuse him up a Katana during my last play session, so now I'm rather pleased with his appearance. He looks pretty awesome decked out in his stylish armor, red travelers cape and sporting a big ol' Katana on his hip. Eldore is downright badass. He doesn't really do a whole lot either, but he looks and sounds like an awesome old grizzled bastard. I really want to use him, but as I stated earlier, the party I have now is pretty much set for me. I have to keep Leonard, because the game forces me to use him all the time and he is the only one so far that can transform. I have to keep my character, since I flat out refuse to let the game win and make my character entirely pointless (plus, it's me, as I mentioned in my rant during the last post). Yulie is really the only combat character that I actually picked. One other quick point I wanted to make as well. The evil dude, the one in Black Armor, total pansy. I know that first fight with him was probably not supposed to be difficult, but his human form went down in less than 10 seconds (I air juggled the crap out of him with my character's six hit air combo). His Knight form was an even bigger joke. I backed him into the little cliff thing area and all he could do was make half hearted swipes which did almost no damage. I didn't even have to go WK to take him on. In fact, I immediately made it a personal goal to not transform against his Ebonwings form. Me and my friend just sat there on the couch going "That guy is the biggest threat to Operation Princess Rescue? I can't believe he even manages to get that armor on without getting killed by it." |
