Back again. The trial exams are killing my time to make problem-free posts, not to mention I haven't reread the stuffs in Crossover RP... *sighs* @Toyumi's topic: About setting, I'm more in err present/sci-fi/future/apocalypse RPs (due to videogaming maybe?) when compared to medival, fantasy styles. @H: I might create a new character for the Crossover RP instead of using back the Mana Drive one. I felt that the character was underdeveloped back in the original RP...   |

@toyumi: lol don't worry, all of the readers there were confused for at least once @emiya: it's not a problem anyway, you can create new characters and also use that one in Mana Drive, at the same time. Ugo planned it so that her RP (Mana Drive and Ties of Blood) HAS ENDED BEFORE the Crossover RP takes place (before NA 1012). What this means is, that the crossover RP works as a sequel to Mana Drive and Ties of Blood @all: I need you guys to help me on deciding whether or not I should remove the Combat Traits. I don't want an overdetailed feature, a heavy timeline, too much freedom, or a gigantic cast, to hinder you guys from joining the RP. Also, I'm planning to start this before school takes my time, so I'm gonna close the storyline registration on October 2. Do register if you want a certain RP's storyline to be included in the crossover timeline (fantasy RPs only) Currently, there are 7 major storyline registered for the RP: - Valkyrja (by Kay) - Ties of Blood (by Ugo) - Mana Drive (by Ugo) - Edinburg King Academy (by Kanetsuki) - Musician (by Light) - Aetheria Story (by Kyo) ---> in progress - Samayoeru Aoi Dangan (new original) (refer to the important notice on the crossover RP thread for more info)

@H Well, it depends solely if there's going to be fights in that RP. I would remove them if there wouldn't be any battles in that RP. EDIT: --------------------------- I was thinking on making a Touhou RP here, but should I? I don't know.  |

@Naru: Of course there would be fights in the RP, but the thing is, the huge amount of text in the combat traits section WILL scare some of you. Not to mention that most of the readers there were confused at a point when they try to comprehend how the traits work. You see, at first, combat traits works as a platform to equalize the power levels of characters from different RPs, so that you can't use godmode with your main characters. But seeing that AWP2 (which has the most godmode characters of all) is now out of the storyline, the combat traits seems to becoming a bit redundant. Plus, some of the players already stated that the traits are confusing. I made this RP for all of you to play. It's meaningless if I only make you guys more confused and it ended up with only a few players. However, I know that there are people who are excited over the combat traits feature, so we have ourselves a contradiction here. If the majority says, "Remove it, I don't like complicated stuffs like that", then I'll be more than glad to remove it. Now the problem is, there were no responses even until now, so I'm still confused as to remove it or not. What I'm afraid is, that if I went on with the combat traits and started the RP, there would be little to no participants. Regarding the touhou RP, The problem with anime/game based RPs is that you are assuming the players know what you're writing about. I, for one, believe that a good RP must assume that the players know nothing about what you're going to write. So when making an anime/game based RP (applies to Touhou), you must write down the story and whatnots, allowing a person with zero knowledge about said anime/game to be able to join the RP. It's not a must, but if you do that, you can attract people who haven't played Touhou into the RP. @Giselle: Welcome, and I see that you're new to Gendou. Do introduce yourself in the Introduction section so that you can know some of the members well And demmit, please, not the game.

I agree with H on this one, naru. For I do not know much about Touhou, for I never watched that anime before. But then again, I made an HOTD rp, it seem to going pretty well, never thought it would last. XD Same goes for VONGOLA DNA. . . I might make another rp around halloween, I guess. :D The rp I'm planning is something supernatural and related to ancient civilization. The time period of course would be modern day or the future. Well I'm not going to into detail about this new rp, but I will say that it is not based on any anime or shows. @giselle: Welcome  |

@Giselle to be honest, those have nothing to do with gendou (your rps that you have been in), but whatever works. welcome, I guess. @H I was planning to do that in the first place. Wouldn't be fun to have someone make a OC in Touhou, that's just stupid XD Edit: Well, if that's the case, a few OCs won't hurt, but LOL. I guess I can bend the rules @Zero /headdesk x 10 Sorry, as a Touhou fan, people calling it a anime when it's a game makes me want to punch a baby. |

@km: *smirk* yeah, you, I'm pointing at you *eyes full of anger* roflmao @Naru: Waitwhat? I think I'm misunderstanding things here..... From what I can infer from your post.... You're planning on making a full-bodied touhou RP? with just the touhou characters and no original characters? (If that's what you mean, then we're back at point one: You're assuming that the players know about the character profiles and whatnots. The gigantic cast of touhou series certainly doesn't help much) If so, then your RP is strictly marketed to those who knows about touhou. You can't expect people without any knowledge about touhou to join a full-body RP. There's also the most important problem of all, that there are no males in the cast, NONE. Dunno man, I'm not into those kind of RPs, since you are limited with only a handful of characters with preset profiles. (eg: if someone plays as Remilia, that's it, other players can't control her, seems a bit restraining isn't it?) I like my RP served with a side dish of original contents, and I think most of the Gendou City RPers do too. It has many benefits to it.

@ Lockette- Uh, this is a club for Gendou RPer's, and you haven't been in any RP's here... But that wasn't clear on the first post, so I'll let it slide this time. So welcome (I guess XD). @ Naru- H is right about putting a bit down about the game so people who know nothing about Touhou could still join the RP. @ H- The Crossover RP is very interesting, and very detailed. However, I've read some of the major posts you made in it, and it's so detailed that it's becoming less of a detailed RP and more of a complex RP (And I agree with 2, 5, and 6 on the first post of the RP). I want to join the RP (In fact, Fenris offered me to take control of his second character), however I don't have the time to really read through the details of it, so I just think you need to make it a bit simpler (If you can or not is a different story. If you can't, then it would be helpful if you sum everything up and put the summary on the first post). I don't know if there are others that feel that way, I'm just telling you my point of view on it. @ Zero- ... /agrees with Naru about people calling Touhou an anime XDDD  |

I'm glad that Free and Dream has gotten back up to speed. I'm also happy that my Valkyria Chronicles RP seems to have gained a new life once again. Still slow moving in Immortal Machina though.    |

If you don't tell it to me, then how am I supposed to know your opinion about the crossover RP? I made this for people to play, that's why I need you guys to at least tell me what do you think about it @giselle: I assume you came from another forum? People who are new to gendou.com often find themselves to be rude or noobish, but it's okay, it's normal ^^ Here in gendou we have a forum culture that is quite different than other anime/manga forums out there. We're a bit more.... mature.... I guess? @jon: I'll join Free and Dream and Valkyrja when I have the time to backtrack the story. School and clubs already eating up my schedule, I can't procrast anymore

I usually have my character be the kind and protective sort of personality, but occasionally I would have it as the silent quiet type. I wish to know, I want to make an rp that is somewhat based on megaman NT and starforce but not sure if anyone will join it or that it would survive. Basically, the rp is that your character will be the netnavi you created and virtually enter a game to battle against one another either in a tournament or in life. How this work is that your character is about to battle an opponent for fun, you will go to a center where you can battle, how is by putting on a virtual reality helmet, and had your mind transported into the stage in the form you created which is your netnavi battle form. Of course later on in the rp, there will be enemies, and only a selected few will have aliens fused together with your character to create your battle form like in megaman starforce. So what do you think, do you think many will join or that it will reach the end? |

@Zen well I try to merge a small personality into my characters, but more often than not, just a normal personality. @Zero Hm, like my Touhou RP plan, I'm assuming you're going to give some background on Megaman Starforce/NT, since I know nothing of it. But other than that, it depends on who's RPing that day, not everyone pays attention to new RPs unless they're almost done casting. @H like I said in my previous (and edited) post, I will give the full background of Touhou, even the timeline and character personalities (canon not fanon). OCs will be welcome, but they shouldn't be more powerful than Yukari. I just need time to prepare it. I doubt many will actually join. In fact I expect less than 10 to actually post there. @Jon sorry for not posting in Valkyria Chronicles, I do have reasons, however. Well, I'll wait until it just goes back into the mess hall before I post, it seems you guys were in a important fight scene, and I thought it would be rude to just jump in with my first RP post in the middle of that. @Giselle You might want to see if any RPs are accepting any people and haven't started yet before you go post. Man that was a long post. |

@"H" - Well Valkyria Chronicles has an open cast, Free and Dream you will have to check with Ken, since it's not my RP. @Naru - That battle has ended now, so you're best bet would be to jump back in soon since we'll be moving to a new area. @Zero - I've seen Megaman NT, but the only experience I have with the Starforce series is with the DS game Starforce 3: Black Ace. I would be interested in joining though, depending on how it's done. Edit: I believe I talked about what kind of characters I usually play as a few pages back. I mostly play as a slightly joking guy who keeps a lot of thoughts to himself but is relatively caring inside. It's a fairly cliche character type I admit, but it's just the kind that I like to play as. I do like to experiment sometimes though, like my character in Valkyria Chronicles RP who is insecure, shy and kind of a pessimist. |

@ All - Hi haven't been here in a while! As for the new topic! My characters are often a little on out there side. Most of them are acctually rooted in who I am as a person but I still change a lot. In the RP I'm doing with Chaotic my character Giselle is way more evil than I could ever be, and I'm also RPing a cannon Zolf Kimblee in that RP. If you don't know who he is, he is a totally messed up Alchemist from FMA. In Free and Dream my character Anke (where I got my current nickname) Is a little flighty, but totally honest and she always follows her heart/gut instinct. In a few RPs that I'm doing with Kyousuke I play the innocent helpless romantic character. So I guess I break up parts of my personality and give them to my characters. @ Free & Dreamers - I am so excited about the new Free and Dream RP. With Anke tied up in the military I'm going to be able to develop Amand's character!  |

My characters tend to have a loud and strong personality or a quiet, shy, and weak personality. I'm a little bit of both, shy around strangers but loud and crazy with my friends, so I guess I break up parts of my personality like Anke. @ Zero- Yeah, like what Naru said, you have to give background information on Megaman. But, even if you do give background information on it, there will be some people who won't join because they don't know the series, which is a downfall of having RP's based on series (I know I'm like that, and I don't know the series very well so I probably wouldn't join). |
