@Kira - I enjoy rainy days, or snowy days, any form of day other than summer day really. Been about a week or so since I was here. School is in full swing for me now, including a test this coming Wednesday for Writing Fundamentals. >.> I'm not going to enjoy this semester, let alone year of school. Operating Systems class almost put me asleep since the class sat in a dark room watching a Power Point presentation of how to do stuff like Logging On and Maximizing and Minimizing windows. The most advanced thing in that course according to the outline seems to be how to change your desktop settings with Control Panel. Office Management is the kind of teamwork/group work/discussion stuff that made me hate English class so much. Not to mention the fact that the textbook goes on and on about being positive and how to handle office stereotypes. The other courses are just causing me to worry. The only things that are really graded are tests, so I have no idea how prepared I am or how well I am doing in the course until a test worth 15% of the years mark crops up. Introduction to Business barely has any questions to practice on and it's near impossible to take notes because of how fast it moves. Writing Fundamentals is all grammar, which I don't think I was that great at back in high school. Bookkeeping/Accounting is pretty much just math work, which I was also bad at. Document Production is easy now, but could get complicated once we actually move on from typing to letter formats. I also have to work, do odd jobs here and there and try to get from one paycheck to another so that I can keep enough money saved for gas and parts for the car in case anything happens to it. =_= Assuming I don't flunk out by December like I did last time, this is going to kill me before the year is up. |

I finally schedule for classes next quarter, even though I really kind of didn't want to go to school next quarter, but my schedule is fine, just the classes are going to be insanely straining. >_<;; Other than that, everything's back to normal, the loan just has to get approved by the school, but yeah, just going to enjoy my break, go to my cousin's wedding and just relax. [@Jon] Yeah my Computer Science class was just like that, half for PC, half for Mac, so lame. You're still starting out, these fundamentals will help you improve over time, but yeah fundamental classes suck.

So yeah I've decided to drop out of my college, I just have to decide when to talk to my academic adviser about it. I'm not sure where to go after this, been looking at another college, but here's an open question, if a school has a 'program' you want to take, say for example, a language, which is what I'm looking for, would you need to take a major or minor course with that or can you simply go to that college, for that program?? But yeah still need a few days to finalize my decision, but I also have to let my parents know. It's gonna be rough. :(

@DA well, you should start with minor courses that go with the program, then go for the major ones when you're going for your bachelor's/master's degree. |

@DA - I'm pretty sure if you want to take a language course it's something that you can take separate, unless of course there are other courses included that supplement the language. A program is a little different, since a program usually involves multiple courses designed to prepare you for work in a job. A language should be a separate entity since it doesn't prepare you to work in a specific job. Sorry to hear that by the way. I had to make the choice to drop out as well, but my decision was mostly based on very bad grades. >.> Had another test today in Writing Fundamentals. I think I blew it pretty badly. >.> I'm just hoping that I can keep the course within the 60 range at least. I'm starting to get some tests and grades back now, so I have a better idea of how I am doing. My lowest mark so far was in Intro to Business, which was a 78 (highest in the class I'm sorry to say, class average was 50 I think), this is of course not counting the test I did today which I haven't received a mark for yet. Depression is starting to mount on my end. I usually have a lot of time to think between classes and during lunch, and my thoughts usually turn to depressing things. >.> |

Yeah it's just confusing cause it doesn't really state that, or at least I haven't looked deep enough maybe. Like the school has a major for asian studies, a minor in that, and then programs in different languages as well. I think you can also decide to major or minor in either Chinese or Japanese, but not Korean which would be perfect for me. They offer four semesters of the Korean Language program, so like, two years I think? I'm not sure if you get some weird degree with that, but if I had to minor in something really to make it a full experience, I'd either choose asian studies or stick with my 'graphic design' and do something like digital design or something similar. Hoping my credits here transfer over as electives or GEs so the loaded year here, wasn't a complete waste. The program offers an internship in Korean (not sure for what exactly) and you can study abroad. If you want a link to better understand, browse around here. They even have clubs for the people, too, all sorts of stuff, it's pretty interesting. The website says things are to change, too, and usually websites aren't totally accurate. There's talk about this program being extended to a minor, which would be great, too, but yeah I guess I would have to talk to someone about everything, and probably have to enroll next Spring since it's late for the Fall probably. (thanks for the response btw, it really helps me out to get feedback) And yeah Jon, I know about your situation from last year was it, when you had to drop out. Y'know college is tough, it's not for everyone, honestly if I could just take this program for like two years, maybe live on campus, meet new friends, that would be the most perfect thing, and I'm hoping it's just that. Regardless, I plan on using the program to go overseas and try acting and doing music, all sorts of stuff, so technically, it would be for something.

So...i'm having a few days off...actually study week before finals, scratch that,i prefer to call those days as holidays, not like i'm really gonna study like crazy. just...in moderation, yeah. i don't think i could take some exams anyways due to my constant absence thus getting pwned by the authorities...orz @jon same here. i hate summer to the point that i don't want a summer day. plus, i'm allergic to sweat and heat so it's a bothersome thing...ever since i stay in hostel. well yeah, no aircond, i'm not supposed to complain but...i just get sick more often. anyways, regarding my constant sickness (especially these days) i've been thinking...should i just quit until i get posted somewhere near home? or should i just ask for transfer? i don't really know...i feel torn these days, especially of the late, i keep missing classes for a week straight, then come a day, and then disappear again. rinse, repeat. understanding lecturers didn't give me any kinda warning yet but...there are some who don't understand, and thought i was skipping for the lulz. *sigh* i don't really know what to do with this anymore.. |

@DA — Oh? I think I read something like that on your FB not long ago. You're going to be heading to College up there though, right? @Yuna — I say if that's what you want to do, do it! :D You should never limit yourself based on what you have around you. If you have the ability to do something you like and can get somewhere to do it, go for it. Would you like to compose or play anything, maybe sing? There are all kinds of options out there, I'm sure. |

[@Shuy] Hmm, you mean going to school closer to home? Not sure yet. The college I'm interested in [so far] has a campus near home, but if they don't have the program, I'll have to look elsewhere. Plus being near home is so boring...

@you have the courage and that if you have the skills as well, you could always try to get into majoring music there are 2 options that you could take : do what you like to do and do it for your life ; or separate your hobby and work so that your work can accommodate your hobby and your like the first one would always be tougher, but you will learn to enjoy your life way better than everyone else because you are doing what you like and the job is taking most part of your life - enjoy what you want and what you do and make it your life that this one leads you to choose music as your major but on the other hand, if you have no courage to walk the first path, or to think other ways of it, then you should ideally find a 'job' that earns what you lack of so that you are able to use it fully to enjoy what you like : music by ideally, meaning that the jobs are the ones that are potential to let you have your job and earn your $$ - of course that would say if you take music as your major , it would be difficult for you to walk this path because the industry is full of these talents and being one of them takes tremendous effort but that would mean you will have to research what market needs now and position of the job that are needed and you are capable of becoming of, then take that specific major that leads you to have the job and accommodate your likes, which is music by making music as your hobby the comments above were actually told by my former teacher though, i hope it helps you to think which path you want to choose.the choice is yours though, good luck! |
