its rare these days to see an anime that can hook one's emotion, allthrough out the series, most these days are dependent on action or comedy.

about the dubbed version, is there a place one can dl it? or even stream a part of it jsut to see if it's good. i also hope that they did justice to it, many dubbed anime are... so badly made that you wish you had just sticked to the subbed and never watched the dubbed.

I saw episode two, dubbed today.
The dubbed is not completely horrible.
Like when I saw it for the first time, I didn't throw my arms in the air, turn it off, and walk away disappointed.
My cousin did that for an anime she saw one time.
It was hilarious! Should've been there to witness it, but anyways...

I kind of like it so far.
The voices for the female characters, Misuzu, Kano, etc. are pretty cute.
I love the voice actress for Haruko.
She did the dubbed voices for Kaname Chidori (FMP series), Ringo (Air Gear), Risa (D.N. Angel), Yukari-sensei (Azu, lol), etc.

*searchs Wiki real quick; see here for details*

There, just read a bit. I noticed they sounded all familiar.
Also, her "Gaoo" was a bit cuter then Misuzu's at first.
I think it was episode one when she was talking/drinking with Yukito about Misuzu saying it.
She wanted Yukito to make her stop making that "funny noise", y'know, "Gaoo".
She nailed that pretty nicely.

[edit] I also noticed, the entire series it not fully on DVD yet.
I thought by now, the anime would be available, all of it, but I guess not.

@ DAngel-san

Well for most North American releases they don't release the whole series at the sametime even though the series is already complete. Since AIR is 12-13 episodes i assume that ADV will release 4 DVDs over a period of time.

Most companies that distribute anime usually take a few months to dub & record the series...& then package for it to be shipped to retailers. It's all a cash grab....but one thing is good about these releases. Unlike in Japan where DVDs usually contain 1 or 2 episodes (costing over $60 US)....North America nowadays have 3-4 on a disc...being reasonably priced, although still at time too high. I remember when DVDs first came out that they followed Japan's format of having 1-2 episodes & charging you $50 for them.

So you are saying the dub is pretty good & worth maybe picking up? I'm pondering to pick up the series even though i already have & seen it. It would be nice if it was a boxed set. Like occasionally the first volume will come with a box to store all the DVDs. Would look nice on my shelf.

Yeah DVD's nowadays are like that containing 3-4 episodes.
FLCL had 2 per DVD and Elfen Lied and Azumanga Daioh would have up to 5-6 (have both box sets for Elfen Lied and Azu).

About the dub, I'd wait a little bit to get the box set.
Since, I think buying an entire series in one go seems better.
Having a nice little box set that has all the episodes and whatnot together at the same time is probably nicer (in my opinion).

Also, if you get the box set, you get the entire series plus the two languages (Japanese + English) as well, so if you hate the dub (I said "if"), there's always the Japanese version subbed, which you love, so it all works out in the end.

Personally about the dub and me, I like it so far.
I asked my dad to take me to the mall tomorrow to get some anime.
It's been months since my last visit to purchase some anime so it'll be interesting to see what they have in stock now.
No "Air TV", but yeah. XD

But you're asking if the dub is okay and worth checking out?
I'd say, "yes, sure, why not!?" and remember, there's the Japanese version, too, subbed by the way. XD

Can you even buy anime with only the dubbed version? O.o`
I never heard of that before.

[sidenote] I'm also going to get 300 tomorrow as well.
I just wished Spider-Man III was on DVD right now as well so I could get that in one go, but... whatever. :3

"Can you even buy anime with only the dubbed version? O.o`

Well if i remember correctly...yes but that was when DVDs was released. When anime was released on VHS (remember these ^__^) they either had a subbed version or a dubbed version. I still have the original Tenchi series & Tenchi in Tokyo series on VHS dubbed. Actually i have a mojority of Pioneer (Geneon) titles on VHS....series like Tenchi & El-Hazard mostly. They look nice on the shelves....cause when you put them altogether the side panels make a picture. That was oh...about 10-15 years ago i guess.

I may wait for the box set...that way i can get all the DVDs in one go...instead of getting them oe by one.

I'm not picky about dubs like alot of people....sometimes its just fun & interesting to hear a series in english. As long as the companies do a decent job i'm ok with it. ADV is pretty good at distibuting dubs so i'm not to worried. Personally i think ADV & Geneon are the best at that.

Also getting the dubs the features can sometimes be interesting esp. if there is audio commentary. Sometimes these are petty amusing.

Thanks DAngel-san!!! for the info.
