I'm pretty sure I've answered this long before, but I wanted to add an anime moment that made my manly manself tear up -- and that was the ending to episode 2 of Ao No Exorcist. I won't spoil the moment, but if you've read or are watching the anime [it just started 5 weeks ago] you know what I'm talking about. The anime really made the moment even more epic than the manga did, which made it so emotional that I teared up quite a bit. It was an emotional moment brought to live from the manga to anime, and the animators and voice actors made it something I'll always remember. |

5 centimeters per second. the ending was excruciatingly painful. it reminded me too much of reality. that's the sad part of it. you somehow know that certain things will happen in the end, the inevitability of losing someone close to you. but for it to be reflected in such a tightly bonded relationship. it's really sad. you see the distance begin to form and you're helpless to stop it. well it wasnt exactly at the end of the anime, more like the end of the first ep....i think? the whole relationship between Gauche and Lag, and the part when Lag discovers Gauche is dead just teared me apart. sympathizing with the protagonist ;) then clannad, clannad afterstory, 5cm per second, and Tengen Toppa Guren Lagann :(

Clannad after story,*spoilers!* the happy ending and when Nagisa died =.= Kyou Kara Maou: End of season 2 where Yuuri had to pick and end of season 3 where Yuuri had lost his powers temporarily. I don't even know why I cried Code Geass: I almost cried when Rolo sacrificed his life for Lelouch and I cried when Lelouch died at the end. How can anyone not cry?!?! I miss Lelouch now Alice Academy: at the end when Mikan worked hard to meet her best friend =) Fruits Basket: I guess I love Tohru so much =) Blood +: When Saya went back to sleep. Sad =.= Full moon wo Sagashite: I felt unfair for Meroko. And I guess cause Mitsuki didn't die. SoltyRei: Even though Solty turned out to be alive at the end. Romeo X Juliet: I liked the anime better than the original. LOL Fate Stay Night, Ginban Kaleidoscope, H20 Footprints in the sand, Angel Beats, Kanon and Air made me sad, but I didn't cry.

For the most part, I don't get into a series that has the possibility of a 'sad' ending (I like the cliche 'everyone lives happily ever after' endings). There have been a few that got me though. Cowboy Bebop - Like someone else in this thread mentioned earlier, it's hard to believe that there are fans of the series out there that didn't shed a tear at the end, ambiguous as it may be. Gundam SEED - The episode itself made my heart sink, mainly because of how many characters that I liked died, but right at the very end of the last episode is where I cried a little (where Kira is floating around and the narration is going on). One of 2 reasons why I do not completely hate SEED Destiny is because they had Mu alive and back together with Murrue. Gurren Lagann - I admit that I haven't actually watched the series, purely because I know how it ends since I caught the ending at my cousin's a few years back. I can say that I definitely would have cried had I seen that without prior knowledge. I can't bring myself to go through this series now that I know how the ending plays out. Samurai 7 - The final few episodes got me choked up, but the actual ending prevented me from really crying, since it was relatively calm. |

Maison Ikkoku- Rumiko Takahashi's story adapted into the anime has quite a sweet ending (identical to the manga). i must say that was the the first and only anime to deliver everything that i wanted to see as far as resolution and closure. a real compete conclusion to a wonderful love story. I Laughed, i cried, and have added it to among my most dearest anime ever viewed. Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien (A.K.A. Rumbling hearts)- very real feeling anime with serious emotional connections with the characters that has a heartbreaking finish. One anime that didn't make me cry but made be cry during was Great Teacher Onizuka (GTO) not only during some of the more serious moments was i brought to tears but also i was always teary eyed from laughter almost constantly while watching due to the hilarity of Onizuka Sensei some anime movies i have felt to have a touching ending are 1. only yesterday 2. whispers of the heart 3. grave of the fireflies i agree with everyones assesment of cowboy bebop as well as chrono chrusade which i have always found to be heart wrenching no matter how many times ive seen it. im confused as to how fruits basket was sad but maybe i am missing something.
Welcome to the NHK
