Is the font supposed to be black when we type in the search bar and quick reply box? Cause it makes it harder to see with the background being almost as dark, too.

Question: Are mobile-released songs considered 'released'? The song in question is 'kioku' by Younha. (Rideback ED). I have the full version of the song, not great quality but audible. The song has been distributed on Yahoo keitai and elsewhere, but there's no CD release for the single even announced, nor is it on her latest album. can the music filter add a function in which it is categorized by the number of total votes a song has because songs with more votes are usually more popular and better? also because people wouldn't rather vote for a song they disliked.  |

Something I recently found out with the search bar... Originally, long ago, when you would type in a word for example, it would bring up threads that contained that word in its title. Then a few months (maybe a year) ago you changed it to how it currently is, where you type in a word, and it brings up threads that have that word as the first word ("title starts with"). But recently I noticed that when you type in a word for a thread, for example "Q/A," (using this thread), threads that have "Q/A," would not come up in the search results. Something like this. But if you type in the entire thread title exactly (including blink code), you get the results. Now before, it would work and it would bring up those search results, but now it seems that you have to type out the entire thread title exactly for its search results to appear. I was just wondering if you actually changed it that way so you would have to type out the entire exact thread title.

Micro-code: 1. sounds like the character encoding is screwed up. this is not happening on any gendou.com song files, is it? 2. neat idea, but synchronizing the lyrics is not feasible. static lyrics not quite feasible either, since the wiki is editable. 3. sure. please don't check the server more frequently than once per minute. Satrap: 1. it can be, but i won't likely do it unless there's a very serious quality issue. 2. i prefer to use VBR averaging 167kbps. minimum is 128kbps, maximum is 200kbps. 3. many copies of a song are uploaded. i use my judgment to pick the right one to post online.

If I have a song with a higher bitrate/quality than the one already available,can it be replaced?.... For instance I have continued story ( code geass ) at a far better quality , 320 kbps or something.. could I upload to replace it? Also, a song with a lower bitrate can easily be transcoded to a higher bitrate, what precautions have you in place to check transcodes? |

About ID3... Why some ID3 looks messy? I just see ID3 in random ASCII character on Winamp, and other Window$ based media player. I installed east asian text support, but it not helped. I have idea, How about adding shyncronized LYRIC3 on MP3 file? Can I put link automated [GENDOU RADIO] link when its Online on my personal website?

If by "media info" you mean the ID3 tags, not to worry, because they are automatically regenerated when I put a file online. The only thing you need to worry about renaming is the mp3 file name. Thanks for uploading, by the way.

Hello Gendou, me again, not quite nitpicking on media info this time. When I upload songs, do I have to edit the media info for the songs to English? Media info for my Japanese music is always in Japanese so I'm afraid it might not format properly once it gets to the server and onto other people's computers. I've always converted song names and info of my uploaded music to English/Romaji for the users' convenience, but I'd like to know if it is a must.
Maka here is an wonderful example of why it's a bad idea to home school your children.
Maybe also a good example of why inbreeding is a bad idea, although the paternity test has not been done to say for sure.

That usually depends on Gendou really. Some get added to the database faster than others, and some take longer and can be pending for weeks/months. For me, the fastest I've seen was like, a few minutes (if Gendou is on as you uL and whatnot), and some can take a few days, too. Overall, if you're the uLer, there's nothing to worry about.

Can we upload a song (that is requested) which is in the anime, but is found also on the artist's Best of CD? For example Over the Future by Lia (request) can be found on her Collection Album Diamond Days. Is it okay to upload this version?  |

Hopefully Gendou won't mind if I answer this one. . Click the "Donate!" button on the top left courner of the screen. If you do not have a paypal account, you can use Amazon. These are the only two accepted methods of donation. Donations go to my server cost, which is currently over $200/month. New songs (those highlighted in blue) are sometimes only available to donators (of $1 USD or more). To make a donation, click on the "Donate!" link on the left hand side of the navigation menu. And finally, In english, you get a level-up when: You donate (one level-up per dollar) You get leveled up/down by administration The number of posts you have made doubles (post 1, 2, 4, 8, ...) Your account reaches a level-up day (day 3, 8, 21, 60 ...) You gain 10 upload points 10 of your contributions are approved Taken directly from the FAQ. It's not mandatory for all or any users to donate, but it is very much appreciated by the admin as it helps pay for the costs of the site!! Also, if you donate, you get the privilege of downloading new releases before users who do not contribute. As for your second question, Gendou's is an Anime Music website, so basically the services provided included free music downloads and free anime downloads, as well as radio stream. && We're all very grateful for the services offered.  |

I'm kind of new to gendou...I'm kinda curious if it is mandatory that everybody should donate...and how does that work? Are there other services that gendou provides for its members, besides letting them DL songs and eps for free? thanks... Masaru signing off...
