Anybody try the Crysis 2 demo/multiplayer yet? It went up on PSN not too long ago. Haven't dLed it yet, it's about a GB but I've still been involved with KZ though I occasionally get bored. Waiting anxiously for Team Ico release date... better be next month. Also interested in seeing when the Homefront demo will pop onto PSN. The footage I saw looks cool. ------- |

@Zaku Then Crisis Core and Birth by Sleep are titles you should try then. Final Fantasy Tactics : War of the Lions. There are a few Naruto games on the PSP. but I don't think those are very good :/ as for Devil May Cry, have you tried Devil May Cry 4? and Bayonetta has similar gameplay -that's what I think- |

1. Get PSP 2. Get custom firmware for the aforementioned PSP 3. Access to every game! 4. ???? 5. PROFI- ...realize PSP doesn't have alot of good games... My favorite PSP games have been Monster Hunter, Wipeout Pure, Dissidia, and Valkyria Chronicles II. I also made it most of the way through D&D Tactics, and Tales of Eternia before losing interest in them. One bonus to the custom firmware is that you can get snes emulators going on your PSP.

@Zaku - I don't think it's bad, but I don't think very highly of it either. Even for a hardcore JRPG fan like me, who are usually willing to put up with a lot of dry material or weird game mechanics, it's becoming a chore. There are parts of it I do like, but the actual gameplay is really tedious and not very rewarding. I wouldn't recommend it, although Izumo seems to have higher praise for it than me. As for PSP games to recommend, these are my choices. -Any of the Ys games. Ys: Seven and Ys I&II Chronicles are the more recent ones (the newest game and the first two games, respectively). -Any of the Metal Gear games. Ac!d is a good spin-off series, despite how much hate seems to be going around for it, if you are in to card games that is. Peace Walker is probably the best, although Portable Ops is good in its own way. -Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 Portable. If you haven't played Persona 3 yet (or didn't beat it originally, like me) then this is a great game to get. My main compliment for it is that it gives you full control of your party, unlike Persona 3 and Persona 3 FES. That was my only real complaint with the original games. -3rd Birthday. I can't really recommend this one just yet, since it isn't out until the 29th in North America, but if you are a fan of Parasite Eve, then you should consider getting it, especially since it's coming out at only 29.99. -Valkyria Chronicles II. I've stated this at least twice, but despite my gripes about certain aspects of the game (the shift to a heavier anime influence and the turning of World War II in to an after school activity) I still highly recommend getting it. You should probably play Valkyria Chronicles on PS3 first though (it isn't for everyone) or at least try the demo to see if you like the gameplay style. -The Legend of Heroes. I have only played A Tear of Vermillion, but I thought it was an enjoyable and solid RPG. I should state however, that you should really only pick up one of the games currently available. From what I've heard, there is barely any difference in the games, certainly not enough to warrant playing more than 1 of the titles. There is a new one coming out this month I believe, but I will have to reserve judgment on that until I either play it, or know that it has changed enough to differentiate itself from the others. -Lunar: Silver Star Harmony. A well done remake of a classic RPG, I really enjoyed this one. -Resistance Retribution. About the only good first or third-person shooter on the PSP, at least, out of the ones I've played. If you do pick this up and you own (or can borrow) a copy of Resistance 2, then I highly suggest doing so. Connecting the PSP to the PS3 while Resistance 2 is in allows you to play Retribution with the PS3 controller. I cannot believe that more developers have not made use of this in some form or another. Sure, it's a portable system, but it's nice to have options. That is all I should really suggest. I could probably pick out another 3 or 4 games from my collection to recommend, but I think I've yammered on enough for tonight. |

@Jonathon - Its not that it's a chore...Its just that most newly released games for psp don't pose many challenges anymore. As for potential games. I have single handedly beaten p3p. I havent tried Ys games :0 I'll check that out tomorrow personally. As for Valkyria Chronicles I've played the demo and it caught my attention but my game stores never have it in stock. >.> Silver Star Harmony is indeed good, but it was very easy to beat =w= lol I'm ranting about all this which is unusual XD. Although personally Ys may very well be my next psp game and I'll grab A ps3 or two while im at it. |

@Zaku - In terms of level design, enemies and quest variation, it is a chore. Those are my main complaints with HN. The gameplay is dull (with the exception of things like the CPU's) which makes getting to the good parts (the dialogue and event sequences) really tedious. That's why it's difficult to recommend the game. I've decided that Hyperdimension Neptunia will be the last game I buy that has Compile Heart and Idea Factory's names attached to it. Their games simply aren't worth the high price tags in my eyes. |

@Jonathan: So true about Hyperdimension @_@ I went to check it out today and it was 60 USD. Seeing as how not many games have caught my eye lately i've gone back to a few oldies. .Hack Infection Series Mana Khemia FF7 & FF8 Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2 |

Just curious, but does anyone else here have the Rainbow Six: Vegas games? I recently felt the urge to start playing Vegas 2 again, and I have the first one as well. It would be awesome to play some co-op with others (co-op story is only two player, but Terrorist Hunt mode is up to 4). I was also considering picking up Operation Flashpoint 2: Dragon Rising as a co-op game for me and my friend. Does anyone have any input on what that game is like? Dissidia is going to be a little late for me, since they aren't being shipped to our story until tomorrow. That means it probably won't arrive until Thursday or Friday. Same thing goes for 3rd Birthday unfortunately. Good news is that I will be getting a lot more work over the next two weeks because of some complications, so I will most likely be able to afford Yakuza 4 this Friday (assuming I can work that out in my budget). I really want to start playing that. There's also the new Legend of Heroes, but I still need to do some research on that. |
