T_T Oh my gosh, I got major chills up and down my spine during the scene in the flower field. Ushio is just too adorable! Sometimes in anime, children can be extremely obnoxious by being overly cute but I think Ushio has just the right amount of emotion when appropriate. T__T Still, this episode made me miss Nagisa.] Question though. Er... Spoilers ahead I guess that could be major just to warn people. (Not sure if this spoiler thing works...) Question |

Well, due to me being "absent" from internet/PC usage for three weeks straight, I have to get caught up again, though instead of Toradora, I'm going to just dL the episodes I haven't seen, and checking on my last post, I was talking about episode 14, so 15+ is what I need to dL which won't take long. It sucks, but I'll be back into the conversation soon enough. >_<;;

At episode 18, when tomoya pauses, I cried. Seriously cried. That scene is way too touching... This episode truly shows the bond between tomoya and naoki. The reason why they never conciliated at the end of season 1 is because they do it here. And its one of the best scene of Clannad ever. @izumo you can post your thoughts now =P And I cant seem to get any familiar vibes at the end of the episode... @dangel Take your time and enjoy these few episodes, don't be in such a hurry to watch!  |

@ Jow-san Well to answer your question, yes that indeed does happen in the game so expect to see it in the anime very soon. The After Story part of CLANNAD is continuous there is no alternate route or ending. It's unfortunate that you found out about that moment cause it is suppose to be the big event that happens (other than you know what T__T), they spend alot of time showing showcasing the character but to have that happen makes it all the more worse. Now you know what will happen but still i hope it won't ruin the scene cause it is a beautiful yet tragic one. @ Xiao-san Hehe...thanks :D The last scene i was talking about is something you haven't seen yet. It is from the movie version, the last scene in the movie is very similar to the one we saw at the end of episode 18. @ DAngel-san Yeah like Xiao-san said, take your time & be prepared for what you are gonna see. One of the big events that happened in the anime has already been shown & it was extremely well done, though some did disagree with the choice of using TORCH as the music we hear right after it :P...spoiled the mood i guess.  *************************** Episode 18 sypnosis The first half of the episode i had a tough time watching cause Ushio seemed so helpless especially her expression when Tomoya showed his displeasure for the noise some people were making. The episode was mainly showing how Tomoya & his father are not that different from each other regardless of what Tomoya thinks of his dad. It was an eye-opening experience for Tomoya knowing how difficult it was for his dad to care for him on his own. Who else to reveal everything than a grandparent eh? They seem to know what to say at any moment. After the revelation for Tomoya he sees the errors in his ways, from his state of mind, to his neglect for Ushio all those years. That whole scene with Ushio saying when/where it was ok for her to cry to finally calling Tomoya her daddy was an emotional scene that anyone can have a heavy heart. The final kicker was Tomoya finally telling Ushio all about her mother, which in turn is his way of letting go & living again. Yes the moment he stopped & cried....man....& than have Ushio there as well....touching really touching. Anyways it looks like the next episode is finally Tomoya reconciling with his estranged father. *Anyone notice the robot Ushio had is very similar to the one seen in those 'illusionary world' scenes.*  |

episode 18 is the bomb. Couldn't ask Kyoani to do better than this. i agree with you all this is a very touching episode, probably one of the best episode in the series so far(i've been saying that alot didn't i xD I really mean it this time). The flower field been bothering me for a while, since it always appear in every op&ed(except dango ED). It's finally show the role of that place for the story and it's very similar with the colorless one in illusionary world. Am i digging to deep or sunflowers really have important meaning later in this series? I can finally see the cuteness in Ushio when she hug the dango plushie xD

whew. Another good episode. I think... I have nothing to say about this episode, simply good. Tomoya finally smiles for real in 5 years... So ushio actually has been holding it in all this time huh? She's a strong girl i see... |

Just an overcap of some of the episodes and my catch-up. No worries, I didn't rush anything. :P Episode 15: Just skimmed through 14, the previous episode to really catch the mood again though I saw it before I "disappeared". Episode 15, as I expected, did not slack on anything and the mood hits me emotionally numerous times. It's always sad seeing Nagisa down, sick, and not as energetic as she usually is. I worry for her deeply, as Tomoya does, but the bond they share is so strong even if they're both aware of a possible future without each other. Pretty much the episode was moments between Nagisa and Tomoya, setting up for the next episode or so. I can never get tired of the BGM used for the special moments, and they even had some orchestra piece, too. Episode 16: Christmas has arrived and it was especially cute seeing Nagisa in her giant coat. :P It's cute how Nagisa wanted a Dango and Tomoya was a bit hesitant to get her one, but few frames later she's holding another in her arms. The different version of Dango Daikazoku (Piano) is a soft pleasure in my ears. Fits perfecetly with what's going on. It's THE BEST seeing all the other girls, Kyou, Ryou, and Kotomi again! Boy I've surely missed them so much. T-T We also see the stranger, Sunohara, and we see greeting cards from all the other girls, too. So the ending was really dramatic. Got teary eyed when Tomoya spoke but Nagisa couldn't reply. It was a bit different in the movie, since you could her her sing really softly, but in the episode's ending, she could barely keep her eyes open. Everything was so touching, and I was right there, heart to heart with Tomoya. [@Izumo] Are you talking about how they used the ending song right after this huge event happened? I guess you're right, if you're talking about this part anywyas, actually I agree. The preview of the next episode, how they used the OP (Piano) to set it up didn't blend well since it showed very dark images. Episode 17: The episode started out so gloomy and dark filled, but once he saw Sanae things brightened up all of a sudden. That's just the character she is I suppose. Any man's dream girl really, or mines for one choice. ^_~` I can't believe it's been FIVE YEARS since Nagisa left. He surely changed, like when Itachi killed Sasuke's parents. For some reason I kept seeing this in my head when I saw Tomoya's eyes. It's like he got older and died out in a way. Ushio is the cutest thing ever! She's like a mini Nagisa and her voice was surely something else. I didn't expect such a bizarre child's voice especially from Nagisa's daughter, but it is cute (in that bizarre sense). Their father daughter relationship is very weak. I understand why Sanae was so "relaxed" when she went to Tomoya's house and wasn't upset. I was hoping to see Tomoya more surprised even happy to first see Ushio at the Furukawa residence, but he mentioned in between that they would every so often see each other, but he never saw her face or even been to her school events. I'm not sure how Ushio is taking this whole thing in, she seems fine as if Sanae and Akio are just her parents. She doesn't seem to be into Tomoya, but now that this trip is underway, I'm excited to see what's next. It's fun seeing how Ushio starts skipping at the end of the episode into the beginning of the ED credits. Episode 18: The beginning of the episode was kind of dull, in a sense that he was still heart broken. I can understand this greatly because Tomoya's such an emotional guy, he was trying to hold it in himself for five years, too. The trip showed a lot, and by the end of the episode they finally were there side by side. Ushio is indeed a strong girl, though she is a part of Nagisa after all. I had this weird feeling on my chest and my arm, I miss Nagisa a lot, it's like I was right there this entire episode. Tomoya at numerous times sort of laid off Ushio, and she felt neglected from it a lot. The robot, which does remind me of the one from the other world, was special, especially that scene because when Ushio said "Because it's the first one Daddy picked", that just tore me apart inside. Talking about Nagisa after all these years to Ushio really created something Nagisa and Tomoya had. Nagisa lives in the both of them, and crying together only proves that their bond is ever more stronger. I miss Nagisa a lot, and it's unfair she's gone and I feel this way because Nagisa was my favorite girl out of the others.

I'm gonna start creating the next thread cause we are approaching the limit very soon. Actually i'll do that after i finish with this post, i'll put the 'Under Construction' title on it so please don't post anything until the time calls for it. If you want you can drop by to see how it looks or gonna look, i thought about long & hard on what to do, but in the end decided for a more simpler look. @DAngel-san Wow!! you sure caught up pretty quick, power watch through them didn't you? Yeah the series seems to always use 2 main BGM when showing an emotional moment, One is 'Shining in the Sky (Sora ni Hikaru)' & the other is 'Where dreams comes true (Negai ga Kanau Bansho)'....these pieces of music really enhances the raw emotion of a scene doesn't it? Of course other pieces of music also have the same effect like 'Nagisa', 'Gensou', 'Ushio' to name a few...which is why i say that CLANNAD has the best OST in visual novel history! @ Xiao-san As you know the movie probably won't have the same impact as the series is going to have in terms of emotion but it still delivers in its compact form. nd them using that last image seen in the movie also in the anime i thought was pretty neat. ********************** Speaking of episodes, 19 is out & oh i have alot to say about this one! Again i'll try not to spoil anything so i'll be using spoiler tags for one particular event that happens....hehehe. Watching in RAW format i didn't quite get all of what one scene was showing but i have a good idea what it was about. The scene happens pretty early on with Sanae & Aki spending some time talking, Tomoya overhears the conversation. I have to watch the subs to really know the jist of it, even so it was kinda obvious what was discussed. Moving on Ushio (still cute) & Tomoya decide to live together. Tomoya thanks Sanae & Aki for all they have done. The baseball scene was funny! Ushio is so like her mom T___T! We see where Ushio goes to school & she describes her teacher. A hint of who it is can be seen in the drawing she does...but i figure the answer is pretty obvious. Then we get probably one of the hilites of the episode.... A Suprise guest returns!!! Awesome!!! The whole scene was awesome!!! Finally we see the reconcilliation of Tomoya & his estranged Father. I don't know about you guys but seeing this really got to me cause i can relate to Tomoya. Not to the extent though but i had a similar situation happen to me before, and everytime i think back to it or see something similar i just get choked up for some reason. Maybe again it is the music that played that sparks it....whatever the reason watching the scenes got all blurry all of a sudden..heh. Even though not alot was said, what was said though was impactful & straight to the point. A simple yet beautiful event & i applaud KyotoAni for doing it justice. A little something special occurs after which will be significant later on. Only 4 more episodes to go. *Note* My guess on the next major event was off judging by the preview...instead of it happening in episode 20 it may well be 22 or even 23. |

@izumo I'll immediately watch that after episode 23 then. And good luck on making the new thread! And I do happen to watch RAWs sometimes in the past, but not now since sprocket is crazily fast. Episode 19! More Ushio goodness! I still cant get over the cuteness of Ushio... I mean, shes way too cute, plus her interaction with Akio just doubles her moe points! Ushiooo~~~ The ibuki scene dident really score that much points from me. Wheres the starfishes? D: I shed a few tears on Tomoya and his father scene... Yes, the music is partially to blame. But most of it is on the scene where Tomoya remembers his past living with his father... Truely touching. >_< Okay now I cant wait for the next episode. Playful Ushio! With the return of another character! Yay! |

@ Xiao-san Well as you can see i haven't started the new thread yet, i asked Gendou-san if i can create it even with this thread still active. I'm gonna wait for his reply first or when there are only a few more posts left of the 1000 post limit in this thread before i start. The Fuko scene was cute even without the starfishes, we still get the 'ahahhaha' scene where she spaces out. I love her expression when she hugs Ushio, i posted a pic of it. Also when Tomoya pats her head was hilarious as well. As for the Tomoya & his father scene...what was similar in my experience was with my grandfather. We never really got along that well even when i began living with my grandparents. We had our differences but i remember when he was diagnosed with cancer that my grandma told me how much he wanted the best for me & really cared for my well being. Him being harsh at times was to set me on the right path, but i thought of it as him hating me. The day he passed i wasn't present cause of this resentment i had.....it wasn't until he was buried that i realized how stubborn & foolish i was. I really never got the chance to apologize for the way i acted towards him & to this day remains one of my regrets in life.  So everytime i see something similar in movies & anime i get caught up in my emotions and how stupid i was during that time in my life. @ h4x0r-san Hahahaha!! I guess liking Fuko is a required taste.....you either love her or absolutely hate her. Something similar to what people think of Aerith in Final Fantasy 7. There is no middle ground in characters like Fuko is there? |

@xiao-san: what do you mean where are the starfish xD Look at her shirt! Fuko without starfish is not a real Fuko. Since the after story Tomoya been crying a lot more than Nagisa, he's getting more mature but not as strong as Akio in dealing with Nagisa. Ushio really almost exactly the same as Nagisa and it seems she met botan already.

T_T Aw man, the last scene with Tomoya and his father really made me tear up for the first time in the series. (=.= I know, I feel like some kind of scumbag cause I didn't cry with what happened to Nagisa.) It was really sweet to see Tomoya reconciling with his father after all those years of hardship. I loved how when Tomoya was telling his father to take care of himself how flashbacks of his father talking to him as a child were placed in between as if they were having a conversation. That was some awesome writing right there. T_T I can't believe it's almost over. I'm gonna miss the Key/KyoAni collaborations... |

dang nice episode...another tear jerker for me...since it reminded me how much my Dad sacrificed a lot for us XD.. maybe i should rewatch ep 18 and 19 on father's day XD fuuko! how i missed you soooooooooo much! yeah needs more starfish though XD |

Oh wow... I just sat down to watch episode 19... and lol, the instant they said Ushio's teacher was out, I instantly knew who it was... Man, can't wait to see her again...

I haven't watched since episode 12, so I don't know what's going on. I was gonna play the AS part of the game first, 'cos I think it'll be much more fun me playing the game without knowing what's going on and then watching the anime to get a nostalgic feeling from the game. ^^. So this is me just checking in, haven't read the posts (because I'm trying to avoid spoilers) but I hope everyone's well!

[@Izumo] You can create it, and I'll lock it so nobody else can edit it but you. Just do it when I'm online tomorrow. Though personally, I'd wait little while until i approaches 995 or so, depending on the pace of things. Just saw episode 19, after not watching it since dLing it Friday, and another really good episode. The intro simply gives you that nostalgic feeling to you. Gotta love Lia man. Even after five years, Tomoya still misses Nagisa dearly and the way it's displayed really digs me inside. The baseball match is good. Seeing Ushio (who's insanely cute!!) bounce up and down next to Sanae was the cutest! =>_<= Seeing Sanae cry was kind of awkward since I've always imagined her to always be happy. I don't fully understand what they were talking about at night, but I can imagine... I think Tomoya and Ushio went through this little moment together on their trip. Ushio is cute when we're at her school. Those are moms were pretty cute and they were talking about Tomoya. :O Seeing Fuuko again was quite a moment indeed. Nothing's changed with her, though seeing her disappear a while back, then her memory in everyone's minds drifts off ('cept Nagisa and Tomoya's, not entirely), and then now she's fully back, for real in reality but doesn't know Tomoya anymore so her memories aren't like the other Fuuko, it's kind of weird. I love Fuuko though, I LOVE Ai Nanaka!! Ushio though is really adorable. So much Nagisa is in her, it's unbelievably, but I thought this was cute her hugging her Mom's dango and smelling her scent to sleep:  I'm glad Tomoya made up with his father and cleared out, not only their rough relationship, but his original house, too, lol. The episode had a happy ending and we see one of those lights again. Can't wait to see what's next.

i happen to be a fuuko lover. So F*** YEAH FUUKOO!! Man i miss her i miss her i miss her. And she didn't even change... Always inviting for tomoya to tease her, heheh. It's kinda weird how she acts like that when we know she's as old as tomoya, but whatever. Cute Fuuko is cute. that scene where sanae cried... She held back crying for 5 years? Wow, tough lady. Then finally the last scene... Anyone who loves their dad would feel something here... THEY SHOULD. man. Episode 15-19 (17 aside, that's pure cute) sure pokes your eyes (i feel like i'm being forced to cry...) |

@ DAngel-san Thanks for the offer, but since Gendou-san hasn't replied i guess it is safe to say i should wait until the thread gets closer to the limit before i start another thread. Also since there are only 4 episodes left there may not be a need for another thread unless people post about their game experience after seeing the series to the end. About the scene with Sanae-san & Aki...ever since Nagisa passed away Sanae-san hasn't cried at all since she needed to be strong for Ushio's sake. Now that Tomoya decided to take care of Ushio there is no need for Sanae-san to hold back those feelings, so she cried her heart out during that scene. Tomoya's reaction is probably of guilt for putting her in those situations. She went 5 years of not crying which is a very long time to hold back tears, she & Aki has gone through so much all those years from Nagisa's health issues, to her death & now Ushio leaving it felt like another child is gone. Another aspect of her character that i think fans love about her.... |
