the more we become closer tot he end of the series the weaker Tomoya become. He's actually getting very pessimistic lately, probably because he knew what gonna happen to Nagisa but unable to accept the fact. Sad episode but i kinda happy for Nagisa, at least her wish finally come true.

@ h4xOr-san You serious O_O!!?? You really gonna abandon the series...didn't you play the game already, i thought you did. Anyways i hope you aren't serious cause like i mentioned in an earlier post...'There is always "LIGHT" at the end of the tunnel'. Stick with the series despite what you are seeing or about to see in these at least next few episodes & you will be rewarded with an ending that will make you feel really REALLY good inside :D We have about a week to get over the 'loss' of Nagisa T__T!!! *so young*...but now we will see Tomoya absolutely lose it now. Those who have seen the movie know what i mean...Very understandable though, it truly hurts inside when someone close to you passes away...you feel like you wish if you haven't met them they wouldn't end up that way, which is the very same feeling Tomoya is feeling at the end of the episode.  You know what, if you think about it the way Tomoya acts after losing Nagisa is very similar to another visual novel 'hero'. What other character goes into deep depression after the loss of a loved one. And no matter what his friends try to do it is almost hopeless for him to basically live again. A hint...it involves a car accident, a pink bow, & a constant debate on who's fault it is. I'll let you think about that for awhile. Only 8 more episodes to go & i get the feeling half of that will be excruciating to watch. I guess we're gonna have to bare with it all even if it is too hard to even watch.....DAMMIT DAMMIT DAMMIT DAMMIT ALL!!!!!  |

I played the game, but I never did finish the After Stories. Now I wonder if I want to... though, Kyou's and Tomoyo's could be better (do they have their own?). In any case, Tomoya's bugging me. He's going a little backwards on the cool scale. In the first show he was a punk, got the girl and thus went up a little, and with after story he went up a little more doing the stuff he did for his job and his friends, and then lately all of a sudden he seems to be slipping back down again. No doubt this will probably make him drop about 3 levels on the cool scale... oh well. I'm just surprised at the fact they're doing it so early... usually the death scenes happen closer to the end. Chances are it'll be about 6 episodes of brooding emo-ness and flashbacks, and then the last 2 he'll bounce back with the help of friends I'm sure...this show seriously just ran off the road into a telephone poll for me. The whole death card Key pulls all the time is getting annoying... I mean, maybe if they did something NEW with it, like say, killed off Sunohara or someone other than the main support character, and show how together they manage to pull through it, at least that would be a new twist. But for me, this whole part (even if the rest of the show was completely different -and imo better) came across as Air 2.0 for me. Well, at least Kara no Kyoukai 5 was super awesome and confusing enough that although I understood it I still want to watch it a ton more times "just to make sure", lol.

@ h4xOr-san Oh so you haven't completed the After Story yet...now that's a little more understandable. Yes every heroine in the game has there own ending but it usually ends after the 'School Life' part of the game. The After Story part is solely Nagisa's extended ending. As for your question on why they have Nagisa pass away so early rather than the very end like say AIR, well i don't want to spoil it but you'll see the reason for that if you continue watching...perhaps much more tramatizing than seeing Nagisa die...DAMMIT!! Sorry even after all these years playing the game i still can't get over it! DAMMIT ALL! Pay close attention to what Tomoya does during this time, cause it will be very similar to what his father went through when Tomoya's mom died. Tomoya hated his dad for negleting him...kinda ironic though. *off topic* Yeah it took 4 days i think for the sub of Kara 5. Kinda funny now that i think about it...Tomoya & Enjou are also very similar as well...negleting what is right in front of them. |

Awww so no After Story for Kyou or Tomoyo? darn... Yeah, but Enjou at least stood tried to make up for it in the end (though idk if Tomoya does the same, but later). That, and Enjou was smart and went for the cute badass tsundere instead of the moe blob, lol. (sorry, Nagisa drives me nuts with just how unrealistic she is compared to say, Tomoyo or Kyou or hell, even Ryou!).

Just watched it, and well... It sure didn't hit me as hard as Air did (goddammit Misuzu T_T). Is it my heart getting so hard? Air was 2 or 3 years ago after all... Actually, in this arc, the scene that brought me closest to tears was akio's flashback. How he runs to the hill praying for nagisa's life was touching. But it doesn't matter, still a splendid episode. Man i missed those guys... Anyway, i don't play the game so i ask, does after story have a good ending? Like where everyone lives? Because if it does, 7 or 8 episodes left is more than enough to insert this and that to the show... Like how they did with tomoyo end in the previous season edit: oh yes, i'd like to add... *nagisa passed away...* *tomoya regrets everything* *sad moment* then suddenly *HAPPY ED SONG TIMEEEE* wat the hell kyoani... -_-* |

lol yeah sai XD I noticed... Although, I kinda like the ED,,, but still, it kinda ruined the Sad Atmosphere that has been built up during the entire episode XDD.. My Reaction: "DAMNIT, DAMNIT NAGISA!!! WHYYY??! WHYYY!??? WH--- *Ending Song* " " ------- *Silence* " "uh-- okay.. So what's the next episode" lol XD That totally ruined the tension that have been building XDD  |

@Renma, Haha, even Renma watch Clannad. I think you are a nice person.(I think in my heart). When there is music, Renma is the best commenter. Ya I agreed with you. I think for the rest episodes, the ED should be changed for the sake of gloomy atmoshere. @The one who don't want to watch after this, It is unfortunate though for you guys. I kind of want to see Tomoya's suffering and how the others want to support him. Surely, I'm anticipating his fighting with his workmate. (I don't really remember his name). Maybe... Comment, The beginning of the story is OK. But I am suprised to see that Sunohara asked a mature question considering his unmatured personality. My heart has been shatterd and I'm slowly becoming a hollow. Arghhh, painful. Well, guys consider these, "A new life is born with the sacrifice of a life" and "To get something you must pay with something equal and this is alchemical equilibrium". LOL, Anyway, Nagisa is still alive within Ushio and I'm sure that she didn't want Tomoya to be discouraged in living and of course the Clannad fans to be saddened. Just think that Nagisa is in the "hidden world" and always watching Tomoya from Ushio. @Izumo, As expected from the boss, you are always think positive and mature. I respect you for that. Anyway, sorry for the late post.    |

@ Sai-san Oh no no no....Nagisa's death is only the beginning...there are other moments later on that will rip into your heart. My prediction is maybe episode 19 or 20 you will see it for yourself. These coming events i rate it equal or maybe even a little more tragic than what happened in AIR. Of couse the magnitude of AIR's event was made the more dramatic & heartbreaking for it was the very last thing we saw & not knowing what happens to Mizusu made it that much more tragic. As for the end music ruining the moment, you do have to realize that no matter what event happens in a Key/Kyoto anime the music is always the same no matter what. In Air it was Aozora, KANON it was Kaze & now Torch for CLANNAD. Key/Kyoto usually don't end an episode with a different ending song...they mostly tend to add insert songs i realize to set the mood. Remember how well Ana worked in that Fuko episode? Here it was the use of Nagisa's theme, although i would've used the warm piano version featured in an earlier episode. Could they have done it differently? Absolutely....however i believe it is a minor issue that makes us even more anticipated to see what happens next. *************** Anyways the character that i was referencing in my earlier post that is similar to what Tomoya will be going through is Takayuki from Kiminozo. Both of them had to deal with life-changing events that physically, mentally & emotionally broke them down to the point where nothing in the world matters. They become sheltered, void of any contact with the outside world in general & basically not care. The difference between Takayuki & Tomoya is that Tomoya tries very hard to forget, whereas Takayuki can never forget. Just thought i point that out cause i found it very interesting how each of them handled his tradgedy. Moving on..... ****************** Episode 17!! ONE WORD - - - U S H I O!!!! She absolutely steals this episode in every way from the way she acts, speaks & just being adorabaly cute. Ushio is portrayed perfectly by Satomi Korogi-san (most notable role Chi in Chi's Sweet Home). There are moments in the episode that you wanna reach out & clock Tomoya for being such a jerk, but it is weird, i feel it was understandable. I would find it difficult to act around your child that you have't seen in 5 years & to top it off she looks almost like Nagisa! Being a single parent is hard so i'll let Tomoya slide this time. Anyways some brilliant moments involving Ushio....i put spoiler tags just in case. Here are some of my fave scenes with her though it was hard to choose. Ushio Adorableness!!! Overload!! |

wow Tomoya is really harsh... Ushio is indeed cute but for some reason i find her voice is a bit annoying and weird, but i might get used to it later i haven't finish the game yet and in the movies version Tomoya first met Ushio in the train station, is this scene will appear in different way in the anime version?

ok, just watched it. Ushio, you're gonna get taken home lol Tomoya... Damn he's broken. Smile at least would you... Are you trying to be tsundere huh? huh?? it's been 5 years and he still acts like that... I guess he's still young after all. Now, funny thing is, ushio just appeared in just 1 episode and i like her more than nagisa already XD which means the next "attack" would be real harsh for me..... I'll go get some tissue |

@ Raiz-san Remember the movie version is just an alternate retelling of the story, kinda similar to what they did with the AIR movie (same studio/director as well). Th movie basically combined what you are saw (Ushio's appearance)& about to see in the next few episodes coming up. In fact the next episode is gonna be telling cause it will reveal alot about Tomoya...keep Tomoya's father in mind when you see this. I see you kinda figured out what is coming up next so i think you may understand why i think it may be as 'shocking' & 'heartbreaking' as Mizusu...though i admit it is a tough act to follow. Alhough personally i think it is done really well in the game...the anime version may be that much more impactful! ********************** Anyways as you should know by now Tomoya's meeting with his estranged daughter was all set up by Sanae-san. She plays quite a large role in the After Story doesn't she? Also she sets up another meeting that you will see very soon....though it was never explained in the game how she was able to do this. You know i was so enthralled by the appearance of Ushio & her bundle of kawaiiness that i failed to notice the anteater plushie!!! Good eye! Xiao-san Good eye!  Ushio's voice just adds to her charm. First impressions of her is extremely positive...oh & when she was playing with her food (sticky rice fingers XD) i remember doing that when i was a little lad...or that is what my grandma tells me anyway XP |

Hello again evryone... It's been a long time I post in this thread. I just watch EP 17, Ushio...KAWAII!!! Okazaki is surely a "mean" father but I think is that he is agitated at that time alone with Ushio, many sarcasm. Ushio must be wanting to "provoke" her father.(Indirectly)LOL However, at one time I feel pity with Ushio, seriously that child want to go to trip with her father very much. @Izumo, I think Ushio's voice suits her. She is very playful and cute. She seem to "disagree" with her father especially during the meal. LOL, plain rice with seasoning...Sanae's cooking. Unfortunately she can't eat Nagisa's cooking. (Crying) @Renma, 10/10, Ushio is extremely KAWAII. Okazaki is surely a fortunate father for having a cute daughter. I'm positive that she is very intelligent in her school. I think Tomoya just want to tease Ushio in the scene that you want to punch him. LOL. A father surely want to tease her adorable daughter like Akio-san and Nagisa. Remark, I think things will patch up between them. I think Sanae-san and Akio-san should be thanked for planning this "trip". I just hope that nothing bad will happen in the their trip. Nagisa is surely live in Ushio and I think that she is like that when she is still small, maybe in Ushio's age( before getting sick and collapse outside her house). PS: I want to see very much the scene Ushio with her grandparents very much. Akio-san surely will tease her or maybe teach her baseball. No question in this post and I will continue to watch this series till the end. That is all minna! |

These last 10 episodes of the series is so far living up to my expectations on what the series is all about. The many difficulties, trials & tribulations one has to face in life are all shown to the fullest in the eyes of Tomoya. What he is enduring & has to endure anyone can relate to or wish they don't have to go through in life. Seeing him 'mature' as the series goes along probably in my eyes makes him one of the best characters in anime. As for episode 18..... I'm not gonna say much about it cause the episode itself says alot. After a few people say what they have to say about it than i'll chime in with my thoughts about it cause i can relate to it to a degree. The episode had many memorable scenes that tugs at your emotions to the brink of tears especially the very end, but seeing Tomoya finally get out of his rut was touching...seeing him finally let go of himself was truly a beautiful scene. Ushio there made it that much more special. The very last scene we see before the credits....i wonder if people will recognize it? Adding that was a nic touch. |
