@Yobo: Very nice drawing. Everything is very well proportioned. Ichvon made a good point on the hand. Also, add some shadow around the feet so your character stands on firm ground. :) Very nice job. What do you use for coloring? @dragonfly: Nice color drawing. She looks like about 9 feet tall. :) Nice job. BTW, I am a guy. Take a look at my profile for the arts I posted here. @ichvon: Your drawing has the classic anime look to it. The detail is great. And of course, the hands are very nicely done. The blur is a little distracting. You should buy yourself a scanner. :)  |

Hey everyone. Thanks for the comments on that quick sketch! @Imppy, thanks and yeah, finding art classes can be a pain, but that's what the summer's for. Pic 1: Very COOL! I love this sketch, the collage here is pretty amazing, and it's great seeing all the characters together in one frame! Kiba especially looks awesome, very cool! Pic 2: Kiba looks great here again, and I love the little details in everything. Your profile looks pretty good too, very cool! I can't wait to see them colored in. You pretty much own Naruto now, you know. ^_^ @Without You, thanks, and Gunslinger has a nice look to it. Pic 1: Awesomely CUTE pic of Eureka! I love the dishelveled look of her clothes and like always, it's a pleasure to see your style making the character truly unique. Excellent! @Ryoko no baka, thanks, and as for developing...maybe in far off future if I feel like it...heh heh... Pic 1: Mizuki looks great! I love the pose and fashion sense too, especially the little details on everything! Very cool style there! @Ichvon, whoa! Pic 1: That's a FANTASTIC charcoal work! The contrast looks very cool, and I love how it looks like everything is bathed in glaring light. It's poetic in it's simple beauty. Very nice job! Pic 2: This Ren character looks awesome! The hair looks elegant and the expression rocks. It's got an advance Negima look to it too, with is pleasant. Overall, awesome! Excellent! @Katsuomori, GOOD TO SEE YA BACK! Pic 1: Ahhhh, I have really missed the Hybrid Fusion Project! This character is phenomenal. She's so incredibly stylish, it's difficult not to love it...every little detail is placed perfectly, even the tiny little symbols on her wings. It's truly impressive! It's definitely worth waiting for your works! @Dragonfly, Pic 1: Very stylish lady! The coloring job is very well done, and the determined look and pose are really cool and unique. Very cool! @Yobo, WELCOME! Pic 1: Great pic! I love everything here, the pose, expression, shading, and especially the coloring job! Very cool style here! @all: Thank you for all the comments @ichvon: yeah i got a bit lazy on hands.... hands are always difficult to draw because of the fingers, and also the sizes (have to balance with the size of a head), but i will try next time, thanks. @without you: i use Copic markers for colouring. They are really popular marker pens for illustration that a lot of manga artists use. They are a little expensive though *sigh*.... but i really enjoy using colours the Copics pens |

@yobo: thanks for the info. I will try to look for them at my local art supplies store. Here is a sketch I did tonight. Nothing special but it is entirely made up by me, not based on any character. It was done with charcoal.  |

@ichvon Oo... You're actually that good! First the charcoal drawing... Then Ren... That picture looks nice and neat tough it's blurred, and the fingers... Were done really beautifully... Come on, post more! @katsuomori Ahh, you and your crazy design again... And it still amazes me! If you'll just color them all you'd be a character designer that's on par with ninja soup... @dragonfly Ooh, is that colored in water color? It sure looks good... @yobo So there's someone who color with copic! i really want to learn using it but the price is suffocating... >.< That picture sure look good. Done very neatly and the placing of the shadow is accurate. You're on a mangaka level already at using the copic huh? Altough i don't know if you can color backgrounds with it as well... But the human coloring sure looks flawless! Post a better one next time! ^^ @Without you Hmmmh finally i can see your picture at whole... Fresh original style! ^^ I wonder why is it so hard to view your previous pics? Anyway, i see that you have your own style at shading... It's rough, lines are seen everywhere, but it gives a different impression, the light looks more contrast this way... Did you make the shading like that on purpose or it's just hard to make a smooth shading with charcoal? Haaah i'm still out of pictures to upload, but i already have in mind of what i'm gonna draw next... i hope i can make it turn out as good as what's in my head... -_- |

| @without you: wow..... so pro. the contrast of dark and light is so dynamic that you can really feel what sort of environment shes at. Ive never actually tried drawing manga illustration with charcoal yet. |

@Saiyou: The roughness of line was entirely intentional. There was zero smudging/smoothing of any strokes. I use charcoal for the exact reason you mention: high contrast. I wanted to show the rays of light shining through. As to shading with charcoal, it is actually much easier compared to lead because charcoal provides a lot more even darkness than lead. Anotherwords, it is easier to spread the shading with charcoal. Also, the roughness of shading is intended to constrast with the detail of the face. I was hoping to draw viewer to the facial expression this way. @yobo: I am glad you see what I see. I had a mental image of the environment before I drew this sketch. I think it came through to some degree. |

Only a few more days before i can get back to my routine....anyways i see some absolutely gorgeous artwork posted...some that caught my eye are the usual suspects (Immpy, Ben, Roq, Eureka...etc.)....some newcomers Ich...oh! Dragonfly & Kats are back!!!!!!!!YAY!!!!Stunning as always you two!!!! Alright here are a couple that DA requested...these are old drawings that were touched up a few days ago....so ignore the date on the Ilya & Berserker pic. These were done last year or so. The members of Deviant have already seen these & i appreciate the comments & responses to them. I'm working on & off on Rabbits reqeuest & one from KANON...hopefully i'll have these done sometime early next month...mid April the latest. Without further adieu...enjoy some Fate/Stay Night Both pics are thumbnailed with the same resolution 1020 x 1300. 1:Ilya & Berserker  *notes about pic*Just a peaceful scene of the 2...Ilya being her precocious self & well Berserker being...Berserker.2:Rin Tosaka in swimsuit  *notes about pic*This version of Rin is seen in Fate Hollow...those who played it know she wears this red bathing suit. The pic looks sort of plain...after scanning it i knew i should've added something in the Bground. Like some flowers/petals would've been nice....oh well maybe next time.  |

Yeah, Berserker being himself, protecting his master. 2nd Image:: Gotta love Rin. The image is not that bad without a pretty background; this plain image is still great, I like it. Can't wait for the KANON one!

Thanks DA ^____^!!! Well i usually like adding something in the Bground just to liven up the pic a bit....if i can't decide on what to add...Cherry blossoms are the easiest to do....but blossoms didn't seem right with the pic. I'll scan & touch up some of my other Fate pics as well...have a few Saber & Sakura pics....i have one with all the servants but it doesn't look that good....it was just a rough sketch. Personally it is kinda ugly & messy XD Heh...when i'm done with the Kanon pic...i hope it looks good....by the way i was thinking if i should do one with just Ayu or add some of the other girls as well. Makoto is pretty popular....what do you think? |
