Do you know if there are two versions of "CLEVER SLEAZOID"? Because I've heard two versions so far, but I'm not sure which is which and which is on the album. I haven't even listened to anything new from them in forever. I love songs like "Yokan" well he just sang. This was of course during their visual days. ------- |

I heard that track like once. I gotta hear it later or something to see if I like it. About "CLEVER SLEAZOID", go to www.purevolume.com/direngrey to find the version I heard of the song. There's a total difference here; just about anyone can say that if they're aren't deaf or something. Not sure which one I like more, but I'm leaning towards the one of their purevolume page slightly more. ------- |

Of the songs I've heard so far, my favorite is Taiyou no Ao. I also like Concieved Sorrow. Although recently it gets stuck in my head a lot. I haven't heard very many of their songs because I heard Marrow of the Bone and there was too much screaming, so I never really looked for any of their other songs.

Dang, someone has to hear a difference here. You can try it the one on their MySpace, too: www.myspace.com/direngrey To me, there's no way they're similar. The intro is different, the vocals are different, everything else is different. You can easily tell the difference in Kyo's screams in both versions. On the MySpace one for example, you can hear the lyrics a bit better. Since the song is nearly entirely in English, you can understand it. Compared to the one on Purevolume, at some parts it sounds like the lyrics are being a bit sloppy or rushed. A lot harder to decipher and pick out. One thing you can notice if you pay attention closely is the part where he sings the only two lines in Japanese. In the Purevolume one, you hear a bell in the BGM a bit. In the other version, you hear no bell. The scream after after this on the Purevolume site, is longer than the other version. It could be me alone hearing this, but I just pick out "two versions". D: I can't find anything on two versions though, so who knows. Maybe it's some sound quality editing or something. Not sure... ------- |

Dir en Grey is awesome, it only took me a one or two songs to start loving Dir en Grey. ^w^ "Dozing Green" and "The Final" are my favorite songs by them. |

w00t~~ new album "Uroboros" this November. I hope it's better than their previous few albums, just haven't been consistent. They're going on a US Tour again, too. They have a new single, though a friend said it's kinda visual. Kaoru said they're going to add that style on this album, though I hope there's the screaming songs we all know and love, too. :/ ------- |

Hmm... they last time I heard from my friend is that they are starting to turn away from Visual Kei... since they are not exactly young anymore... Don't take my words for it though... is something I heard from my friend. I'm not exactly their fan but they do have some very nice songs... the vocalist is cute (due to his height) and have a powerful vocal! |

"Starting to turn away from Visual Kei", they did that about ten years ago, haha. They've been way into their current Metal style for a few years now. As for their vocalist, Kyo, I said it before and I'll say it again, in my opinion the BEST screamer in the world. Nobody screams, or can even perform as he can, let alone Dir en Grey. I'm having high hopes for this album, though since they're announcing all these "changes", who knows. They seem to love performing their dark themed songs so much, those are the songs that take longer for me to get into since you have to have a patience for it I guess. As compared to their screaming songs, I can instantly enjoy them. ------- |

Don't have their works from Dozing Green onwards... have to check on them... *browsebrowsebrowse* imho their style has changed towards mainstream heavy metal with Marrow of the Bone, has it not? I prefer their earlier style like those in Kisou and Vulgar ^^a

Well Dozing Green is one of their last singles... last one I think, since releasing? Their style of Metal can definitively be heavy, though their songs entirely are so "evil", in a sense. Their songs are how "THE FINAL", should've turned out (the song is about suicide). Like from the songs they did for the HIDE Memorial, I wanted something like "Kodou", or even something like "Umbrella", since they ended it off with "The IIID Empire". Those songs right there are mostly my favorite, I want songs like those on the new album, but I'm not sure if we'll get any. "CLEVER SLEAZOID" is probably the last song that can relate here, but not entirely. ------- |
