My first was Speed Racer, although I didn't know what the word anime was at the time. The word wasn't likely coined yet. My first maybe was Kimba the White Lion although I'm not sure what came first. I also remember Gigantor (Gigantor the space age robot, he's at your command!). Understand that I'm over 50 and still watch "cartoons". Best, mysofa
The image shall be brought forth from the imagination of the reader. I don't do pictures as you can plainly see.

I think it was Ronin Warriors, because that's the first anime I ever remember seeing... don't remember how old I was tho... :\
I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes.

Mazinger Z was the first anime I had to watch on tv (my very favorite, following with it are Voltes V, Mekanda, Daimos, Getter, Balatak, and Jeeg)-- before Ex-President Marcos banned every classic giant robo anime here, saying it was 'too violent for kids'
"I think animation is something that needs the pencil, needs man's drawing hand, and that is why I decided to do this work in this way" ( Hayao Miyazaki )

Well if it's before I knew what anime really was I'd say dragon ball when I was about6 or 7, But anime anime was tenchi muyo ova 1-3 followed by gundam wing way back in 1999 when I was 12-13. |

very first would have to be the things like Sailor Moon and Dragonball Z, but those were before i really knew what they were (i.e. i was in early elementary school). the anime that introduced me to all things anime, quite embarrassingly, was Beyblade. it's what got me to go on the internet and find more things related to it, as well as other fans since no one else at school seemed to watch or like it. man am i glad i got into other stuff, because the way i acted, the things i did, the things i said...oh man, i don't even wanna think about it. |
