Ketsuki just try enjoying the moment. Even if life is crappy and you see a shit future. Just enjoy the time where you can watch anime and post on gendou, or do whatever. Then sink back into your hell hole when the things actually come up. So instead of worring just enjoy whats there and let come what comes. I see shit ahead in my future, so I trying to cram as much good times in as possible before it comes. And Sachiels advice is good too. Fight-o! |

Death is a normal course of life, one that is only filled with grief. One can see though that within death lies relief from the pain of life. This kind of mentality can make dealing with death a little easier. As I've quoted before "How do you know it is so bad to be dead?". It's nice of you to worry about your friend, but don't force her to open up, like Kotuso said, "let it run it's course." If she feels like talking, she will. My condolences, seems like everybody is dying nowadays... BTW, why is her friend dying? Terminal illness? Accident? |

@ケイ, I'll be 16 pretty soon ^_^ Nightmare, I think all you can do is just be there if she ever needs you. Don't pressure her if she's not gonna talk, although I don't think you would do that. |
Re: The Depression Thread Continued

yes, well thats what i am going to do...but im still worried about her...the worst part is that she said to me (back when i was really suicidal) "Jason, if you died, id have to kill myself"...that bothered me...alot. i dont want her to do something she would regret...in a fit of grief. im just going to watch her very carefully (as best i can considering i never see her) its a terminal illness i think...and shes more than just a firend...shes like a sister and i love her more than anything. ive got it wretten on my callinder , November 29th 2006 is "freedom day!" |
Re: The Depression Thread Continued

If it was me I would try to make all her wishes come true before she goes. Instead of grieving over what will happed soon, I recommend doing something for her that would make a grand memory. Is she stuck in a bed? Get some flowers, some cake, some anime. I believe Haibane Renmei would be the absolute best choice of show to watch if you were going to die. BTW Haibane Renmei is my #1 favorite anime. I don't know how she wants to spend her last days, but I hope she gets whatever she wants. |

You should find some way to let them both know that they're both cared for deeply. I know it's hard to lose someone to an illness I've lost two to brain cancer. One in seventh grade and one's leaving us soon because she doesn't want to go through with the surgery that could help her, she just wants to end it all and live her last days in peace. And we're all respeciting her wishes because well, it's her life, it's her choice, as someone on this very forum once told me as well. (they know who they are) It's really sad to have to say goodbye I know, but like jomunga said try and make her last moments on earth special one's. Do things she's always wanted to do but never really had the time to, gice hugs and smile for her when ever possible. (this is of course for the one whose sick) For your friend that your concerned for, I have to agree with everyone else. Give her time. Everyone goes through certain "stages" or w/e of grief (this is from some health book) and she may be lingering in the one of those stages a little longer, but eventually she'll move on and realise she's not the only one whose sad and their are other's who can share her pain and help her as well. You may not even need words to tell her your there, just being near her or giving her a friendly smile and even a hug might help. Though you may want to say "Let me know if you ever need someone to talk to, cause I'm here for you and I care about you!" or something like that. It's hard but in time the pain will hopefully fade for you and your friend. My deepest sympathies for you guys. *Gives nightmere and friend a big hug*
"Everyone has a photographic memory, some just don't have any film..." "Friends are the people who know everything about you and still put up with you!" "Nothing in life is free, even death costs us."
