It's about time that it finally came out. Beside me not watching the movie (YET), I'm still looking forward to After Story greatly. I hope someone can remind me once it arrives in a few months or so, haha. :3

Yeah, they're good. I used them the entire season after episode three. Saw like a quick second of 24, too. Subs seem nice to me. Perfect. :3 Might watch it now or go to sleep since I'm tired. :O

It's basically Tomoyo's scenario in the game if Tomoya chose her in an edited version of it at least. Most things from the game are included in this episode mainly the important aspects to achieve Tomoyo's ending. The jist of it is this. This episode takes place after Tomoya helps Tomoyo be on the student council. Their relationship gets strong eventually becoming a couple. Tomoyo learns about Tomoya's troubled past & tries to help him. The other teachers & student body disapprove thinking Tomoyo should concentrate on her work than a delinquent. Tomoya worries that he may get in the way of Tomoyo's future decides to stop seeing her. A few months past & during the winter Tomoya & Tomoyo meet again...she says she was able to fullfill her duty (something about saving trees) but during those times she missed out on one important thing....her time with Tomoya. She confesses her love for him saying he's the only one she cares about. Tomoya is deeply moved by this & hugs her with all his might never to let her go.  *btw* Ana the song played during the scene is exactly the same as in the game. The ending for the episode is a precursor to 'Tomoyo After'....where Tomoyo brings Tomoya his bento lunch (happens just like in the game). So maybe just MAYBE after the 'After Story' we'll see a Tomoyo After anime series. The only things that were missing is the appearance of Tomoyo's brother Takafumi. He's very prominent in Tomoyo's scenario.  |

So maybe just MAYBE after the 'After Story' we'll see a Tomoyo After anime series. MUST BE MADE. MUST WATCH This one episode just turned all my attention to Tomoyo XD yeah, they're dating, the guy forced himself to break up for the girl's sake, the girl finally decides to stay with the guy. It's like I"s all over again. Only the ending is... Different... T_T |

It was more like a Tomoyo After episode if there's ever one. Though one thing I'm not sure about, what happened to Nagisa? Wasn't Tomoya and Nagisa dating by the end of the series? What happened with her, as well as everyone else during the point to this episode 24's point? There's so much pain and suffering, gains and sacrifices in this episode. I felt like Clannad was just about Tomoyo and Tomoya the entire time. Instead of a harem, it would've been a romance/school life-drama/comedy all along. I liked the episode though. The snow was beautiful. Though not seeing anyone else made it uncomfortable, y'know?

@ Sai-san Well there is a good possibility that it may happen. CLANNAD has become so much more than a series/game that is recognized by the die-hard fans, like yours truly. The series has gained more fans ever since the anime began & it will continue to attract more fans cause of its story & lovable characters. None more so than Tomoyo. Why do you think Key decided to make a game solely arround her? She's a vastly popular character but i don't have to tell you that right? So an anime version of Tomoyo After is a distinct possiblity & doing it without the H-scenes is very doable. If you have read the manga version that can be used as a guidline. The game is from Tomoya's POV (point of view) while the manga is from Tomoyo's. Either when they decide to make it, it is just as good as the original series it was derived from. So just like yourself i to wish to see it happen. @ DAngel-san Like i mentioned in my previous post this episode is basically an edited version of Tomoyo's scenario from the game. It is one of the possible endings that you can get in the game, an alternate version different from the other characters (though i think one of the sisters has a cameo in the episode)...the other 'girls' are pretty much absent. This is solely Tomoyo's time to shine since in the series her role is kept at a minimum. "Wasn't Tomoya and Nagisa dating by the end of the series?" This episode shows 'what if' that never happened...if Tomoya chose Tomoyo instead of Nagisa. The whole idea of the episode is what would happen if Tomoya chose someone else. And since Tomoyo is such a popular character it was only natural to use her as the main love interest. Again it also sets up a possible Tomoyo After anime series in the future. Read my previous post to get a better understanding of what the episode is all about cause i explained it briefly but pretty understandable. |

Hmm, I think I get it, though since I never play the games I'm never used to "different" endings, y'know? :( I guess this is nice for those Tomoyo #1 fans out there. A real treat in itself. I wonder what the other endings were like. Maybe we'll see more episodes like this final one, in After Story perhaps? After Story is basically like Tomoya and Tomoyo, but instead you have Tomoya and Nagisa, right? I'm pretty caught up now, since the only thing I was confused about was not knowing this was only one of the endings you can get and a hypothetical possibility. Now that I know it wasn't real, everything makes sense to me, haha. Have you read the Tomoyo Dearest manga yet? Maybe that's probably why the final episode/ending, was the one chosen with Tomoyo.

Yes i've read some of the Tomoyo Dearest manga. The manga is basically the Tomoyo After game but from the POV of Tomoyo rather than like the game which is from the POV of Tomoya. The ending for the manga (which has yet to be shown since the manga is ongoing if i believe) is a possible route the creators could go if they ever decide to animate Tomoyo After. The game has endings for all the 'main' girls in the game including one for tea girl Yukine. As for seeing them in After Story, well that will not happen unless you are talking about Nagisa. The new series is a contiuation of her scenario. Not to worry though the other characters do make appearances in the story but they become more side characters than main. The setting for the new series takes place a few months/maybe a year after the conclusion of the first series. All the characters have graduated from high school (except Tomoyo since she's an underclassmen) & are living normal lives. Tomoya & Nagisa are a couple now. Things take off from here, if you've seen the movie you'll get an idea of what to expect from season 2. The movie's ending will be apart of the after story but what the movie didn't show is what happened after. There is more to the movies ending that will be shown in AS (After story). Everything that happened in the movie is expanded in AS so what you see in the movie is only a part of what you will see in AS. In AS everything is explained from Tomoya's relationship with his father, where the other characters are & what they are doing, including Fuko. The secrets of the 'Other World' will be explained & it is alot simpler to understand than you know. It seems complicated but it's really not at all. What the glowing orbs mean in the overall story, the origins of what makes Nagisa sick...the appearance of Ushio (so cute!!!)...every question that one had about the first season will be revealed. Those who have played the game already know what to expect, seeing it come to fruition will be a treat. Those who have not played the game...like i said many MANY times. Get ready for an emotional roller-coaster ride that will make even grown men cry...heck i did!! If you decide to see just one series for the rest of the year...CLANNAD is the one to choose , ef -a tale of melodies- a close second...see my post in the thread for explanation of why. It is going to be a memorable experience come this October, i bet my reputation that this series will not NOT disappoint!!!! |

Ah, not a surprise here. Not too far of range from what I imagined in my head already. All I can say is that I can't wait for Clannad: After Story! It's a bit late to decide if you're gonna watch one anime series for the remainder of the year, which would be none until October! That's impossible for me, haha. October IS going to be a nice month, with other anime I'm looking forward to as well. S***, the entire rest of the year is looking so good so far (excluding the unknown December). Though the only thing is that Suzumiya Haurhi no Yuutsu Second [Season], could be pushed back deep into Winter/leading into 2009 year. I don't want anyone else talking about it here, I just had to get it off my mind, lol. There's little info I can read about Clannad: After Story, and mostly all the sources are the same unless you've played the game already, like you Izumo. I can't wait for it. I'm guessing it'll be 23-24 episodes long too, or half!? I still need to see the movie, though something inside tells me I'll be watching it at a later date in time. O.o` A non-surprising post reply from Izumo-san! XD /thumbsup

| Not sure why, but I just downloaded a "new" episode... Tomoyo and Tomoya are a couple? It's epi 24, but why did it come out so late?? Maybe my anime site is just late to upload it. |

I finally saw the movie, though I saw it way too late. I should've saw it after 23 and before 24 (OVA). Basically after it came out months ago. The whole "I love you" from Tomoya was kinda rushed, though I understand why. Don't tell me I have to re-live Nagisa's... ummm... again!? That was so sad, but not surprising. I hate to see Tomoya like that as a result. Five long years... must've been like lonesome hell. I'm really looking forward to After Story now cause I wanna see after the ending of the movie. I hope there's happiness and joy man. I can be a pretty sensitive guy and sad endings kill me (let alone the ending to an anime gets me already). :O Though on a more positive note, the movie made me feel as if I was in the 90s or something. The movie's version of Dango Daikazoku was pretty catchy, too! I get what you mean about the main characters being more like side characters, though it was an adjustment for me. I can never get off Sanae-san's cuteness! She's someone perfect you can only dream about having (AKIO-SAN!!). Also, I hope the cast has the same voices cause I think Tomoya had a different seiyu for the movie. NOW, I'm done with Clannad entirely. Onward to After Story, which is still kinda far away. :P

@ DAngel-san As far as i know the same cast & crew will be back to handle the 'After Story', so you don't have to worry about voice changes. I assume they used a different voice for Tomoya cause of a couple things. A more well known actor to draw fans to see the movie, or the original actor was busy doing other roles. "Don't tell me I have to re-live Nagisa's... ummm... again!?" Well let's just say the end result is a little more satisfying, i'll leave it at that. Just don't be too suprised if you see it again, but i figure they build it more to that moment than they did in the movie. It'll be more emotional if they are indeed following the game scenario.. T___T!!!!!  Each character will play roles in the new season, just not to the extent they have in the first season. For the most part each of their stories have already been told (well except one character in particular which will be resolved during this story****), that doesn't say that they won't have roles to play. Even they are regulated to side-characters they will still have important roles. Sunohara will have a much larger role here cause of being the one closest to Tomoya, imagine him as Mitsuki from Kiminozo when the time calls for it. October 3rd is the tenatively date to air the new season ,this is from what i've read & it said in the autograph book i got included in the last volume of the DVD release. Yeah, that's right one of the extras in the DVD release is this book that includes autographs from ALL the staff who worked on the series. One of the very last pages had the date October 3rd written on it with the words After Story next to it. I'll scan some pics from the book cause some of the drawings featured are so adorable!!!!! |

I had no trouble getting used to Sunohara having that main character type role in the movie. He's always as funny and I can never get enough of him. I hope we see his sister in After Story, as well as other characters as well, more of the lesser known ones. Since it's just right after the first series, I can probably get used to everyone else as well, cause in the movie everyone's relationship with each other was kinda rushed, though it was a movie mainly about Nagisa and Tomoya, so I understand why. There's definitely gonna be some tears shed though I can expect a smile in the end (I hope). :3 Does you know if it's going to be as long as the first season? 24 episodes?

I'm unsure of the length of the next season, though i assume they will make it a full season. Something close to what they did with the first series is a possibility. Like 22 episodes & have 2 specials just for the fun of it, maybe the last episode will be something like the Tomoyo special again, this time setting up for a Tomoyo After anime series in the future. Although they can make due with something like 12-13 episodes but that wouldn't be something i would do though. The After Story is just as long as the first season & making it shorter will make it lose some of the vital information to the story. If it follows anywhere near the game than there will be a couple new characters introduced as well as more screen time for ones we have already met that didn't have as much time in the first season like Mei for example. One new character is directly linked to the sisters, one in particular. I'll let you guys guess which one. Of course Ushio will have a big role in the story as well as the 2 from the imaginary world. You'll find out their origins, again it is alot simpler than you think. However the majority of the story WILL be focused around Tomoya & Nagisa. So no whining about why the other characters don't factor in as much....:P As we all know how good AIR & KANON was, well this is just another addition to that elusive group. "There's definitely gonna be some tears shed" Tell me about it....T____T!!!! Can't wait!! **************** EDIT ****************** As i promised here are some pics of the CLANNAD DVD collection & all the extras that were put in the DVDs. Each volume came with a booklet that had line-art, storyboards, character profiles...etc. There was even a pack of cards (Ryou), 3 keychains (Botan, a screaming Sunohara thingy, & a music box that played Dango). Well worth the money i spent to get these!!!  This 2nd set of pics is the autograph booklet that was included in the last volume. Everyone who worked on the series has autographed it, like i said earlier some absolutely adorable pics from the staff! There are quite a few pages so please be patient for it to load up. Enjoy!!  |

ZOMG! That's friggin' COOL! Japanese signatures are so COOL D00D~!!! And some of these cast members can DRAW, look at that! I haven't seen all of them yet, after clicking on 'em and whatnot, I will later if I remember, but wow it's really, really awesome! Nice sharing there, Izumo! That Botan key~chain looks cute. I want more stuff to go with my lock thingy with my house key, flash drive, and hopefully keys to my dad's/own car. :P A question, if you don't mind answering (might be a bit personal), but who much did you spend on this obviously collectors item? A rough estimate is fine. =^-^= Also, about the autographs, were they personally done or personally done on one copy, they copied?

I didn't even know there was a Clannad thread over here... I saw the anime a while back, thought it was pretty good but not very special (though the humor from Tomoya and Sunohara was excellent) But about a week ago, I got the game after watching the Tomoyo OVA.... that OVA was really really good... The first route I tried going for was the Kyou route, since I'm a sucker for Tsundere types, and Kyou was just my favorite (Tomoyo being my second favorite...I have complicated tastes). Well, the problem was, apparently I made some wrong decision somewhere back about EIGHT DAYS in the game, and it took the game that long to tell me I got the Bad End?!? After a bit more frustration I looked online for tips, and then I ran across "The 300 Hour CLANNAD Walkthrough" over on the animesuki forums... 300 Hours?! After opening it up, I noticed this game has a lot more routes than just the main girls, and even more little things spread out that make it longer... I haven't even unlocked the After Story for any characters yet (do you have to play them all first to get the After Story?), and I've already spent 12 hours playing/reading it... It's tons of fun, and now I have to say, Clannad really is amazing; The only thing that bugs me is Kyou really got jipped in terms of ending...you spend half the time with her sister...and when you finally DO get with her, all you get is some quick scene, and then another short scene after the credits...oh well... I think I may go back and watch the anime again after I finish some more routes cause I think I may find it more enjoyable then...
