Well, i'm checking this thread every day, so feel free to talk with me :) And i try to update the list of known anime as much as i can. Yeah, i'd say kanon 06's kinda good. Yet i still prefer kanon 02... i don't know why. Guess it's more serious... Somehow, the atmosphere there is really calming and nostalgic... even if you watch kanon for the first time, you get some kind of really neat feeling of nostalgy... and i prefer 02's drawing style... although only a few would agree to me in that one - most people prefer 06. As for kare kano i haven't even added it to my watchplan... since i have it pretty big already :) Oh, and i often appear in msn by the way. If you're online and if you see me - feel free to greet me... i'm always there if i'm logged in. But i never greet first those who're in different status than "Online" :) |

Hmm... i wouldn't call Kanon Remake sad... I'd say it's more funny than sad... There's no love triangle in 06 between Ayu, Yuuichi and Nayuki, while there is one in 02. Moreover, Yuuichi's instantly told about Ayu when her incident happens. (trying to avoid spoilers :)). While in 02 he knows everything right before the end. And up until then he's sure that she's... Anyway, both 02 and 06 has good parts of it. Let's say. In 02 Ayu, Makoto and Nayuki's stories are better, while in 06 Mai and Shiori's stories are better :) Moreover, 06 reveals certain facts that weren't told in 02. |

How about this, 06 = better graphics and overall better storyline. It was sadder too in my opinion.  |

I'd say not better storyline, but it has more time, so more facts are explained. Storyline's the same. As for me - i prefer 02's graphics, but many disagree with me. I can't find anything sad in it... Other than Shiori's story. And Makoto's story in 06 is annoying for me. Well, it's so even in 02. I wouldn't call it sadder, since the overall plot's the same. And as for me, Ayu's story in 02 is way better... since it has really touching monologues... i even wrote it down. In 06, the ending somewhat resembles Lamune :) And as for voices, music and bgm (so, all sounding), 02's WAY higher :) |

I guess it depends. I like 06 more but in a small margin. I like Florence in Kanon 02, it's a really good soft song. I agree Ayu's story was more drawn out in 02. |

The 02' version is for those who only want to know about the relationship between Ayu & Yui. It uses the same designs from the game which is why it looks the way it does. This series is more compressed leaving out the majority of the other characters, their stories & their importance to the past of Yuiichi. The 06' version is no different than the 02' version. If the 02' version had 24 episodes to work with it too would be more complete. I like this version mainly cause it dives into the other characters as well...not just focusing on Ayu. The game is very deep & covers alot of stuff....i think the 06' series does the game justice & is a worthy watch for those who have not played the original game. Both series are excellent in their own ways....the 02' has it's fare share of charm as does the 06' version. The 02' version is those who just want the basic storyline while those who want to know more about it should see the 06' version. Alot of anime viewers nowadays worry too much about how the anime looks....if the animation is good or whatnot. Sure it is nice if the series is visually stunning but all that doesn't matter if the storyline doesn't back it up. Luckily both series for KANON work.....02' may not look as good as 06' but at least the story is just as good. @ Moogle-san There is no difference in the voices for the series other than that of Yuiichi...the original seiyuu's for the 02' series was used for the 06' version. Even though i like the OST of the 02' version...the 06' version i prefer more cause i LOVE Mr.Shinji Orito's composition & music for the game....so when they used it for the remake i was thrilled. Next to CLANNAD it's my 2nd fave OST from Key. You also may be missing the whole concept of the other character's part in the whole story.....the events with Makoto is just as important as Ayu's. After Ayu's accident it was Makoto that comforted Yuiichi...even though she's a fox...it wasn't annoying...it was touching & sad when she finally died.. Not here to argue with you...what you said was your opinion & that's fine.  |

» [huy] lol, I asked that before to other members I talk to from other forums. They're usually confused most of the time and have no certain answer when I try to find out on my own. For some reason, it's not really... "serious", I should say? Well, not like her in America. Things go on to like... ahem... (although I'm not sure in Japan either). I do see it sometimes in anime, although they end up not doing anything. The girl usually expresses her feelings to us (the viewers), and/or gets jealous cause he usually likes another girl. But I don't know at all, really. I never saw Original Kanon. I saw Kanon Remake, and members told me to just forget about the original (maybe cause they liked the remake, better). I guess from hearing what I've heard so far here, they're both good. Maybe unique in their own way, but maybe equally good. Overall, I've heard (from members), that Kanon Remake is better annd yeah, the graphics are amazing. Kyoto is a studio to be reckoned with and to keep an eye on, regardless if they only have a few anime. They've been around for quite some time, actually...

Yui got kissed by Nayuki in 02. I saw cousin to cousin stuff in other anis as well. And well, most media stuff are influenced by modern cultural stuff so... I don't know. Anybody been to Japan and actually done some cultural research? I'm too scared to ask my Jap Language teacher b/c I'm afraid of offending her about her heritage. >.< |

(Wow, this thread became really active... cool) @SkyL: I prefer Flower song... it's my favorite. And i don't find any part of 02 chibi... @Izumo: Yeah, i know. Yet their voices somewhat sounded more passionate in 02... or something like this... :) By the way, did you notice that Kitagawa was wearing a shirt with writing "Clannad" in one of the episodes? And there are other appearances of this word i think... so maybe they'll be related? And i don't really care how anime looks... i'm watching dragonball after all :D And Lucky Star... but sometimes the graph's so terrible, that it's impossible to watch :) And as for me - i think that 02's drawing's way better than 06... Anyway, about cousin to cousin stuff... As i understand - it's okay in there. As long as it's cousin, not pure-blood brother-sister. Other from Kanon, cousin to cousin appears in Canvas 2 for example. Oh, Shuffle and Tsukihime by the way, if i'm correct. Dunno, maybe they think that cousin relationship is moe... Well, usually those cousins become rather annoying characters, but as for Nayuki - she's one of the three top from Kanon for me: Ayu, Nayuki, Mai... Well, come to think of it Kanon doesn't have any bad characters other than Kuze :) And again, as for me - i really prefer 02 version. I'm currently rewatching it the fourth time :) And i didn't manage to rewatch 06 further than Makoto's part... |

@ Moogle-san Hmmm....i guess since all the seiyuu's were younger their voices carried more...or they were more into it. About the CLANNAD reference...it's the same as in AIR when you saw characters similar to ones in KANON...there was Ayu, Makoto, & Nayuki in AIR's school uniforms. Hopefully in the upcoming CLANNAD anime...their may be hints of other Key products being made into anime.....like Little Busters! or Planetarian. Little Busters! is very likely...the premise could work. |

Yeah, i saw that... and i really laughed about those three appearing in there... By the way, if i'm correct, they're airing anime in the same order as they made games, right? One, Kanon, Air, now Clannad. So we can try to figure out what's coming next. Oh, and Axel(blakbladeknight) told me about ef - memories (something like this). Do you happen to know anything about it? If i'm correct, the drawing will be similar to sola and Otoboku :) |

Is there a Little Busters anime out there? I only know of the game... which came out in Japan not too long ago actually. Well, I think anyways. I can't wait for CLANNAD to come out! I hope there's going to be good subgroups subbing this. Sometimes, sub groups try to match the anime's transitions and they either do good or bad with it... or go their own way (originality). I know you guys might not care about it, but it's fun seeing what they do compared to other groups who just sub 'em plainly. You only see most of their skills in the intros and endings.
