simple, anime is a human based reflection exceeding most of the expectations. From storyline which is different from normal life, character build-up which is not seen mostly, and mostly, anime shows all the emotions that human can do. Its the main reason why people like anime since it reflects every single individual. Maybe not in physical appearance but somehow in attitude ;]

It depends.. My friends don't like anime..at all..n say that i'm childish,n so as my dad. But hey,age doesn't matter when ur watchin anime.. Yup,i really like anime..a lot~  |

Because anime is very funny and weird yet it is very exciting. I really have fun watching anime. Their artwork design is very impressive. not only watching, but I also really feel like taking a part inside the anime. It feels like another world that I wanna live in. |

I think anime has a way to escape to fantasy land. where people look much better that us with their big eyes and asians can have blonde or even natural blue or green hair with any eye color they wish. and music plays in the background whenever something drastic happens, no way that ever happens in real life. and anime life is so much more interesting compared to our everyday boring lives. If you think anime is closer to real life you should get a doctor and have your mental state checked right away, cause no way will real life ever get to be as close to what people dream about. that is why hentai exists all the beautiful girls that you will never get to have its truly a fantasy we wish. Anime is the same way and it will never change cause life is so messed up we need it to exist well i think we need anime.  |

Anime is cool, and it is fantastic!! Anime is not some old, just for kids cartoons, but it is just like a whole new world for us!! It is a great thing to rely on, really! |

there are a variety of reasons IMHO: 1) it's a great source of entertainment, because of the variety of genres, plotlines and target markets, as well good for different media and ways to interact with the world. 2) it takes us away from the real world, which we desperately need a break from at times. it makes us feel better that our life either doesn't have to be so bad, or that out there someone's having a much more worse day than us. 3) it helps us to connect with others, although it might not necessarily be through peaceful measures *eyes flame wars wearily*. 4) we learn new things and lessons about the world around us and how we view it, even if it was unintentional. sometimes we'll learn that it's good to have fun; other times we'll learn that the line between good and evil is an incredibly blurred one. and many other things i can't think of anymore |D  |

Anime is a very...very general word. It has a lot of subdivisions! Comedy, Romance, drama, action, hentai and hybrids of those as well. That means anime is open to a lot of people who have different tastes. Therefore if I want to make a lame simile, anime is like music. It's so big, all people watch it! [well. most anyway xD]  |

Hmm, I think a lot of people like anime because it is very creative and I guess it is like a fantasy land where anything is possible. I agree with taichokerorogunso. If you think anime is anything like real life, you need your head checked. @_@ |

oh..obviously b'coz anime is sooooo damn great... it's like a cannabis sativa..tsk3...addictive... well...we learn many things just by watching anime... or even read doujins...mangas... if asked, i'd choose anime....not boys...tsk3... it's everything...lol...  |

I think its because of the drawing. it becames their inspiration. and the fantasies, the story, how the graphic is made. and yeah, because its cool and very popular.    |

I think it is because there is an anime for everyone provided they are open-minded and can see past the animation. Most people are open to that and they just want a good story. Not all anime is the same, and just because it comes from japan doesn't automatically make it the greatest thing on the planet. I used to think that, but then I realized how untrue that is to believe that. I just look at anime like I would any TV show or movie and decide if its awesome based on that. I think a lot of people like specific anime, but they aren't total fanatics, just casual watchers. But I think thats okay too.  |

| Because Anime is a great way to pass time! =D It's very interesting and comedic too, depending on what you're watching. Personally, I prefer the genres of Comedy, Romance, School Life, Slice of Life, and Seinin. But I know I missed some =P 13-Episode series are a bit less interesting though because the ending is rushed. I usually go for 2-season or 26-episode series, keep me occupied a lot longer~ |

Because Anime is the most excellent way of escaping reality.. You get to satisfy your imagination with limitless drawings..with boundless characters and even with impossible situations. Anime caters each individual's longing and fantasy..that no other live actin films can..(or..they can..but with limit..) Anime can provide humor, excitement, action, love(physical and emotional),fantasy, fiction etc..to their extent! And anime can be an alternative to things most people want that, they don't have..^_^ (I'm speaking poetically)XDD |
