Two days until Portal 2 releases but I didn't pre-order with release day shipping so I'm not sure when it'll arrive. Hopefully on release day. ^_~` I'm expecting maybe the following day, but I'm sure amazon will send it out ASAP, so yeah. Also just found out, Portal 2 will have CROSS-PLATFORM CO-OP!! Whoever's getting it on PS3 and/or PC/Mac, let's try to get co-op going! I skimmed through the trophy list, and half of them (about 50 trophies total) are co-op related. :( But it's cool, I gotta make a brand new Steam account though (my last one only had like L4D 1 anyways... lol). You can find my PSN on my profile and when I have to make a Steam account I'll post that up somewhere, too. ^_^ It's also pretty sweet how you can actually register the PS3 version into Steam and play it there, however you can't unlock the PS3 trophies via PC/Mac.

@Haseo - I appreciate it, but my friend also has PS+, so I could use his if I really wanted to. What I plan on doing is just leaving a USB drive plugged into my PS3 and trying to make a habit out of backing up my saves regularly (especially RPG's). @Yuna - All of my PS1 data is still safely on my PS1 memory cards, so I didn't lose anything there (one reason that a memory card is still a better option for saves than a HDD, in my opinion). I completely forgot about my Enchanted Arms save data. Well, I guess that game will be relegated to the "Never going to finish" pile, along with Hyperdimension Neptunia. I honestly do not have the will to go back and replay through the 30 or 40 hours I sunk in to those games just to finish the story. They just weren't entertaining enough to get me to go back through it all. Finally, another reason that I suggest not playing Dissidia 012. The ending made me depressed/sad as hell. I haven't actually finished it (although I'm at the last stage) but I ended up seeing the ending elsewhere. Overall, I felt that they could have done a lot more with the game than they did. They didn't really give any of the new characters any time to be fleshed out, not like the first game. Also, several of the relationships between characters (CloudxTifa, KainxCecilxGolbez, VaanxGabranth) are either barely touched on, or not mentioned whatsoever (in Vaan and Gabranth's case, those two never even meet during the game). I was really disappointed by that. The only thing I take comfort in, and the only reason I will continue to play until I get to the ending is that -Spoilers past this point, if you care at all- That is really the only reason why I didn't immediately lose the will to play to the end when I found out (although that is what I did for Persona 3 FES. Never could bring myself to finish the game until P3P -_-). Anyway, at least I have a lot of other games to play that will hopefully be happier and not leave me depressed as hell. Well, Legend of Heroes should be happier at least, 3rd Birthday isn't really that kind of game to begin with. I still need to pick up Folklore as well. That's only $20 now and I have wanted ever since I played the demo years ago. @DA - I will be picking up Portal 2 today, but I plan to play through the single player campaign first, because apparently the co-op campaign takes place after the single player. Don't want to get any spoilers on the ending. I'll be getting the PS3 version, so if you ever want to get some of the trophies, I'll be around to play it. @Anyone that has played it - What are the online quests in White Knight Chronicles like? Are the time limits generous, or are you rushed to complete them? The price dropped to $27 for a used copy a few days ago. I could get it for about $20 after discount, but the timed quests are still bugging me. I really do want to play an MMO style game with some of the people here, but I would prefer not to play World of Warcraft, my computer probably can't run Aion, and the free-to-play browser based games are pretty bland in my opinion. I'm holding out hope for the PS3 version of FFXIV, since I doubt anyone here bought the PC version. I have the Pre-order Page for Disgaea 4 bookmarked now. I'm going to attempt to pre-order the Super Premium Edition from the NIS America site once they start taking them in June/July. You get a bunch of figurines along with all the contents of the Premium Edition. Finally, I have Catherine pre-ordered now, so I'll be looking forward to that in June/July as well. |

@Jon : Folklore is a good game. the only thing about it is that you'll be reading text most of the time, there is barely any voice acting. Other than that the game is pretty good. -nice soundtrack as well- My "never going to finish." Enchanted Arms and Ninja Gaiden Sigma. I can't bring myself to play those again. Yeah, the thing about Dissidia is that they don't really concentrate on the interaction that some of the characters had very well Vaan and Gabranth as you mentioned. -Honestly I never finished the first Dissidia- I'm currently looking for Neir, don't know if you heard of it or not. The soundtrack is a definate 10/10. though the gameplay looks a little iffy from what I seen.

[@Jon] Sweet! It also has voice chat so we can chat too since I know you're not a fan of talking to random people. I'll also play and try to beat it first, just lemme know when you beat it. I'll try to get through it by today or tomorrow depending how long it is. Surprised you picked or will be picking it up, never knew you were a Portal/Steam fan? I also gotta make a new account as well since I have no clue what my old one was. I only used it to play L4D one on PC a long time ago anyways, so yeah.

@ Yuna: I played through Nier, and like you say the soundtrack is awesome. Game play is basically just whacking enemies with your weapon and the side quests are really boring. There are some puzzles though and the story isn't too bad (though the second play though is necessary to make sense of it all). I'd give it a 7/10 overall.

@Yuna - That wouldn't bother me so much. I usually get a lot of that since I play RPG's a lot, a genre that typically has non-voiced text most of the time. @DA - I don't have anything against Valve's games, I still find them interesting. They wouldn't make my 'Best Games I've Ever Played' list by any stretch, but I find them fun for the most part. I just have a problem with the Steam service, or maybe it would be better to say that I have a problem with the customer support. I'm also not a big PC gamer, so that plays a major role in my general lack of interest. One of the main reasons I'm getting Portal 2 is because I want to see how the story goes on. I hate being left at cliffhangers. It also has co-op, which me and my friend are always anxious to play. I already plan on selling/trading it in after I finish the campaigns, it won't be a game I plan to keep. |

@Jon: Didn't see that question there. Yes, the online quest of White Knight Chronicles are timed. going from 15 minutes and sometimes 30 minutes. depending on where the quest is. It may feel rushed. Hope that answered your question :D @Stoney : Hack and slash eh? 7/10 isn't bad. I'm still going to get it, if I can find it. A bonus Liam O'Brien is the voice of Grimoire Weiss :D

[@Jon] Yeah it doesn't seem to have replay value or length value. I'll try to beat it soon as well and keep moving along with my GF games. And I fell asleep early yesterday so I only got to chapter 4 or so of the single player campaign. Depending on difficulty would you want to try to Plat it before trading it in? I only got it for 35$ so if I trade it in by around 5$ left or so, I'll be satisfied (more so if I can get as many of the trophies as possible, or Plat).

@DA - I don't know. Platinum seems pretty easy to get, so I may try for it. On the other hand, the Platinum trophy itself is basic looking (it's just called Platinum Trophy). Trade value is no big deal for me, since I have two people looking to buy it off of me for $30. My friend, and a co-worker. @Yuna - I see. That makes me more unsure. To me, it's not really fun if the time limit is making you feel rushed. I guess I'll just have to find some gameplay videos online to see it for myself. |

@Jon When Yuna, Ray and I all played, I can't say I ever felt rushed- the time limit was never a problem. Some missions give you upwards of 45 minutes, which is plenty to finish most every task. ![]() |

Beat single player in Portal 2 and it was pretty good. Not insanely difficult although honestly some chambers were a bit tricky. The ending is neat but I'll hold off 'til later since Jon and probably others are still playing it. Sidenote this, but I think the campaign is different from single player, although I won't know until I try yet. If you have Steam, lemme know cause I can add Steam friends via Steam on my PSN account which is linked to Steam's service. O.o` The mail's gonna be here soon and I'll probably have my GF games so I'll probably get back into Portal tomorrow or so, who knows. I can't keep solving puzzles, lol, keep getting a headache and passing out... XD Oh I forgot to say, use your save spots accordingly. If you're still before chamber 7 or so, save a spot. There was one trophy I missed where you have to beat it in about 70 seconds or so. Trophy sycn'd and missed a few of the single-player campaign ones, but depending on how much I get through co-op with someone, the overall % might be 60-70+.

I also beat the single player in Portal 2. I have the same thoughts as DA about it. The ending was cool and it didn't end on a cliffhanger (not as far as I'm concerned anyway). I got quite a few of the trophies. Most of what I have left is co-op, although there are two or three single-player trophies which I missed (catching a blue-colored cube before it hits the ground, finishing the chamber in 70 seconds, finding the two location based trophies). @DA - I probably won't have a chance to play co-op until Friday. My friend wants to borrow the game to play through the single player tomorrow so that we can start split-screen co-op on Friday or Saturday. I work tomorrow night anyway. I'll let you know as soon as I get a chance. I thought that the Steam integration with the PS3 worked surprisingly well. One of my friends whose PS3's disc drive died was on PC, and chat messages that he sent to me popped right up on the screen in the corner. I guess me and DA will find out soon how smooth the system works when playing cross-platform. I'm interested to see if Valve will bother supporting this further, or if this just turns out to be a one time thing. I don't see myself using any of the features personally, since I rarely play PC games. @Maiku - I see. That makes it sound a bit better. I forgot that you guys already played through it though, that's another reason for me to hold off on it I guess. I finished Dissidia 012 tonight as well. Seeing the ending didn't make me as depressed as when I saw it a day or two ago, but I'm still kind of ticked off and feeling down about it. I don't plan to play all the way through the first game's story since I already finished the first Dissidia. Plus, the minor changes in gameplay don't really breathe new life into 012's version of events. I'll be moving on to Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky now. I've lost the will to play The 3rd Birthday because of how depressed Dissidia 012's ending left me, so I'll save that for later on once I have beaten LOH. I just want to play something a little happier and lighthearted after all that doom and gloom, something to cheer me up, and The 3rd Birthday is definitely not going to be a cheery game. |

Oh that's fine, I'll be playing my GF games for a bit anyways, just PM me whenever you want to play and I'll save whatever I'm doing and we can start. And yeah setting up Steam was more than simple and quick, and I'm more than positive they'll work on this cross-platform thing in the future. It's easier for a game like this, but I'd think it'd be more difficult for games like L4D which will definitely come to Sony in the future. The Valve/Sony relationship is only beginning right now so that's good. And yeah I won't really hop onto Steam since I only have my Macbook anyways, but it's good to know you can play with Steam friends without being on Steam. You only have to have your Steam account linked to your PSN, so technically if you're on PSN (or just signed on), you're technically logged into Steam a well. Since Catherine comes out next month, it'll be hard to decide between that, inFamous 2, and possibly Brink. Plus I've gotten into contact with the school I want to get into so I don't wanna get swept all into games, but whatever. ;P

My known line-up for the rest of the year: Brink BlazBlue 3DS The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time 3DS Starfox 64 3DS Infamous 2 Lord of the Rings: War in the North Uncharted 3 Elder Scrolls V Disgaea 4 Dark Souls Zelda: Skyward Sword (sans delay) I won't personally be buying all of these titles as I'm splitting the costs with my brothers. We'll all be getting Brink for the multiplayer, and the same goes for Dark Souls as well. Depending on when War in the North comes out, and whether it has couch co-op or not, we should end up with only one copy, which would be optimal. As for Uncharted 3, I haven't decided whether or not I need to have the multiplayer, so we may be getting one copy between the 3 of us. The other will probably get Elder Scrolls V, and we'll mail our copies when we think we're finished. As for Disgaea 4, even though it's single player, we'll have 3 copies in the family. Nobody wants to wait for it lol I might have to cut back on a few titles (If War in the North has no couch co-op, we'll probably be waiting for it to drop to $20, and I might have to skip on BBCS23DS) depending on what's shown at E3. With 'Project Cafe' allegedly on the horizon, I'm going to have to make sure I have plenty of money. Unfortunately, that means I'll also have to hold off on an NGP until probably nearer the end of 2012. ![]() |

I'm playing inFamous now and painfully trying to collect all the blash shards and dead drops before doing most of the story missions or side missions. Honestly I probably won't even finish this game again on the good route, but we'll see. I'll probably rush it the second time around since it'll also be on easy mode (cause the computer changed it to hard so I'll get that gold later). I'm so tired of knowing I can get Plats in these latest games but I just don't have the effort to trophy hunt for them. Plus my GameQ is always piling up and new games are coming out next month. I hope more footage of Brink comes out cause it does look fun. Hopefully multiplayer doesn't suck. And Catherine is so interesting. They announced that for inFamous 2 you can use your save data from the original and it carries over! Though I hope they clarify more cause I'm probably going to overwrite my evil karma save data. ...then again if I'm not going to trophy hunt for the Plat I'll have both of them! Just in case.

Sony announced PSN to go up this coming week. And as a compensation, Sony is giving everyone 30 day membership of PS+ Yay! Well maybe for you guys, but not for me. As a current PS+ holder, I get nothing. No added time to my membership, no refund. This is the perfect PR nightmare that Microsoft was hoping Sony would have. And well, ive certainly woken up from it. If I'm paying $60 a year, and get nothing out of it, i might as well just get an Xbox, and sell my PS3. I'm honestly debating it. Sony's doing a horrible job keeping their customers who defended them in the still on going console war. And now, im questioning who the better company is. |

That's good I'm sure a lot of people -including myself- will be happy that it's back up and 30 days PS+ isn't bad either. Better than a "I'm sorry." Even though this is a serious blow to Sony. I'm going to still stick with them. I don't feel like paying for X-Box Live.. DX

To be honest, in my opinion personally PSN+ doesn't give you anything significant. You get early beta access, a few discounts on games nobody buys, and some free games which don't have lasting appeal. The real people that benefit are the ones in the testers group. They get everything that never even releases onto PSN. Ever. The only thing I'd like are free avatars, but we've had that discussion on the lack of PSN avatars. The testers group gets avatars that you can never get or will ever see (unless on PS3 forums or something). Other than that, PSN+ isn't really special at all and a free month of it is just to scoop out stuff for free (which I will). They need to get more stuff from the Japanese PSN, they have better stuff apparently. Sony was hacked, and it's the first major crisis they've had to deal with since becoming global. Give them a break. They're doing the best job they can so your account doesn't get attack more. Yeah vital information might've been spread or accessed, but they've handled it professionally by shutting of PSN to "protect you". Although annoying, I'm hoping everything is alright in the end and nobody has anything violated. And this whole discussion about PSN/Sony people leaving to join Microsoft and XBOX 360 Live is the most idiotic thing. First of all, you don't know when PSN will be back up, and even before that it wasn't going to be down for weeks to months. Yeah you can't access online whatsoever, but you can still play games and get trophies. The people who do nothing but play PS3 all day and night, are the ones that would leave because they're impatient, and yes, idiots... The whole debate about what the better system is also ludicrous. I've said it before and I'll say it again, the PS3 is simply better and more diverse. Why would you leave PSN+ to simply join XBOX live? For better avatar customization? Cause they sure as hell don't have better games and will never have better games. Because the XBOX died quickly, they can't bring over any classics like what Sony is doing now with bundles from the PS2. It's debatable that XBOX live is better than PSN, but PSN is still growing and changing. Also note XBOX live costs more than PSN+ while regular PSN is free, which automatically makes it better than XBOX live, in my opinion (minus the fun stuff with avatars). For people leaving simply cause they can't play online for about two weeks, that's stupid. If you're leaving just because PSN is down and you realize PSN+ isn't worth it, just cancel your subscription. There's no need to move to an entirely new console, with no games, just for online? Come to your senses. And it's also been proven that online for XBOX lags more than PS3, so if you're gonna game online a lot, that's something to think about with games like COD and especially BF.
