Well if anyone has seen episode 10 already than you know what happened to Yuuko & why she appears out of nowhere sometimes. Just for your information this event happens in the game as well...when i was watching as soon as i saw her by herself & kids playing with a ball i knew what was gonna happen!!!

Although the events that happened after the moment is handled differently. In the game she makes her way to the church along with the young Mizuki. Yu shows up to the place they were suppose to meet & finds what happened eventually finding Yuuko in the church.

Hard to say which scene has a bigger impact...the game or anime. Both are very emotional but it seems the anime is more realistic in having Yuuko be where she is when Yu found her. The end credits was pretty powerful as well in terms of emotion. Hard to imagine what it feels like to be Yu.....

A brilliant series is almost at the end & i must say this is even better than the first series. For those who have played the game it has some subtle differences but still manages to deliver the overall feel. For those who haven't played the game by itself it is a masterful anime series!!

Just when they explain that the episode will be in black and white i can sense something bad will happen.
It's hard for me to accept the way she died... She's really an unlucky person.

They really done a great job by putting ebullient future without instrument in the end, the lyrics is just perfectly match the situation.

EDIT

finish watching epsd 11. The animation in this episode is uber godlike, i would say this is the only anime that can match up with kyoani's animation.

I love the double OP and ED, the euphoric field op kinda surprise me they also show all the main characters in it as well.

What's the name of the last song? is it "a moon filled sky" or is it ever forever?
the montage on that song is heartbreaking, it remind of all the struggles from all characters.

At a glance they kinda treat this episode like last episodes. I really can't wait for epsd 12. Hard to imagine if they can even make better episodes than this one.

I highly agree with your assessment of the series so far Raizo-san. The quality of the animation, although different from the norm where the use symbolism & artistic merit makes up a vast majority of the presentation. You don't need fancy computer CG to make an anime series look great & ef is no exception.

Episode 11 was masterful, it's the best way i can describe it. The use of OP & ED songs throughout the episode kinda made it feel like closure of some of the stories or the beginning of another. The appearances from the characters from the previous series was like 'our story has been told' & it wrapped them up pretty well.

Only 2 more stories to tell & i can't wait to see how they wrap things up with Yuuko/Yu & Mizuki/Kuze. If it is any thing like the visual novel i'll be ecstatic but at the same time emotional cause it was beautifully done in the game. Especially with Yu & Yuuko.

I like the fact they used the new version of Euphoric Field in the episode as well. It sure sounds like the 'live mix' version found on the CD that was released earlier in the year. The song at the end is 'A Moon Filled Sky' which will probably appear in the 2nd OST which will be released in February!!! Ever Forever is probably (my assumption) going to be the end theme for the last episode. Not sure if the games OP 'Emotional Flutter' will make an appearance. I hope it does cause it is an awesome song as well. You can hear both of these songs on one of my playlists i have up on my profile.

If you want to be kinda spoiled you can find the games ending video on Youtube & see if the next episode will be anything like it. Again be warned there is massive spoilers in that 8 min or so clip but it is simply beautiful!!!

EDIT

If you thought the last episode was beautiful...wait til you witness episode 12!!! They wrapped up the story very very well & i'm happy of the little changes that were different from the game version. Chichiro in a santa costume was sooo cute!!

The scene with Yu & Yuko was absolutely beautiful & emotional. The scene is quite different from the game but the overall feel was the same. The only thing i thought they should've kept was the scarf that Yuko made for Yu. In the game it became tattered cause of the accident but the anime had it unharmed.

Again the song 'A moon filled sky' was heard...the previous games had the classical version which sounds pretty. The vocal sung by Mizuki was really nice. Of course the end theme 'EVER FOREVER' from the game was used as predicted but what was awesome of the song is that the entire female cast sang it. I look forward to the 2nd OST to be able to hear the full version. However that is like 2 months away!!!

Final thoughts of the series...one of the best i've ever seen!! The presentation of the series (with the animation style, symbolism, etc) made the series quite a watch. Love the very little changes they made from the game that made the story that much more.

after watching episode 12, i still think episode 11 is better in term of animation but it's still much much better than average final episodes.

If i have to rate the entire series i think i have to give ef 11/10.
this series is almost perfect, i rarely give lots credits to an anime with happy ending as i usually prefer anime with sad endings.

can't wait to d/l the OST, Tenmon's music never cease to amaze me.

my biggest disappointment in regard of this series is the fact that not so many people realize the greatness of EF, probably because the epilogue (which i find it very interesting and addictive)is too complex and a bit confusing for some people.

Sorry for the bump but fans of the series would probably like to know about this.

In addition to the 2nd OST that will be arriving Feb.27th there is also another CD OST coming out that same day. It's called Alato - ef ~a fairy tale of the two~. Basically FINALLY the games music will be released, from BGM to all the vocals.

Containing 3 discs it will include not only the music, but also the drama CDs as well as other things like messages from Tenmon & the production staff. Also included is a 28 page booklet featuring artwork from the game.

Looks like another CD i'll be definitely picking up. Here is a link to the official website at minori : Alato - ef ~a fairy tale of the two~ original soundtrack info (japanese only)

Of note is the beautiful cover artwork of Yu & Yuko.
