Gyargh, I'm stuck at fighting She-Viper boss. Everytime I want to execute Roulette attack, I kept on slipping the final triangle button.

The toad monster was easy enough... and not the best bosses I fought so far. What's the name of that scientist?? Cuz I fought that guy too, and I love it how Nero used Devil Bringer to snatch swords and threw it against the labwindow. The approach was easy, but I lost about 5 times xD (to me, easy things are difficult in some way)

What bizzared me was from the wintry Fortuna Castle grounds to a tropical forest. 0_0 Yeah, I was as pissed as Dante xD

I played this game in PC, pretty cool game. Owns in term of graphics, gameplay and action compared to previous devil may cry games. But I think this is the easiest devil may cry game, the combos are endless and its too easy to get Sick Smokin Style.

Boss fights can get pathetic once one know the moves. I kinda agree with Jonathan about Nero, I find using Dante is much easier and he's much better compared to Nero (guess the kid need to learn something from the elders ^^).

Most favourite boss battle? Has to be the fight with Credo, cool BGM and the atmosphere...very flaming! Oh and also the fight with Dante, love it when I got hit by the moves I often use in DMC 3.

And I thought I've already 'abide' by the rules of signature.

I find it difficult to use Dante in DMC4! (Just entered mission 13 xD) Gah, I have to get used to the controls. I like the style-changeable feature (LOL, look at Dante posin'! xD), but it gets fiddly when to change different styles in tight situations. I'm sorry, I find using Nero is easier ^^;; Maybe it's the Devil Bringer~ what the heck, yes--- it's the Devil Bringer that made battles easier, especially bosses. Now using Dante, uh, anyone help me how to defeat Echidna once again by using Dante *frustrated*.

I only get Sick Smokin' Style once for letting 2 Blanco Angelos and an Alto Angelo clashed together in a ensemble ambush. When you said too easy, you mean you got it more than once? Wow.

I have to say the Pope boss (using Nero) is way damn easy. The hardest is Echidna. Gah.

@farboct- After using Dante for every DMC game on every difficulty in those games, I just find Nero is limited in comparison. The Devil Bringer is basically a power move that can't be interrupted and you can use repeatedly, I find that makes Nero extremely easy to use (plus it's a great way to assure you get a high style combo near the end). In comparison, Dante just feels more comfortable to use since he plays like he did in DMC3 such as not having any power moves, multiple play styles and multiple weapons, he just has a much wider variety to him than Nero does.

Also, copy the strategy you used with Nero against her, sans the Devil Bringer. Fire at her normally, slash at the seed laying part of her when it appears, slash regularly when she's simply standing there and when she digs into the ground try using a Macabre combo. That's a basic strategy anyway.

Jon, at least you're giving positive views on Dante ^^;; I gotta think positive, things are not easy anymore xD But yeah, I do like it that all Dante's moves are available in DMC4, I guess it's too fluid for my fingers? ^_^;;; Man, I complain too much xD I guess you're right though, Dante can execute any moves, now I thought about it. Nero's strong when he has the Devil Bringer arm.

Oh yesss, thank you for the strategy, Jon! Must try tonight :3

@ farboct: I suggest you start with Swordmaster, then just use the skill button to slash multiple times in air when Echidna is er..how to say at normal position. If she tried to use the head whip thing, just change to Trickster and skill button to dodge in mid air. Then skill button + Front to blink appear in front of her again, change to Swordmaster and continue slashing. If she lands down, simply use Devil Trigger and use the piercing front slash a couple of times before using the macabre combo like jon said. Once she gets fired up, she'll start flying around - thats when you have to make good use of Trickster abilities to dodge around. Wait until she lands again and use those Swordmaster skills to finish her off.

Why I said using Dante is much easier than Nero was because of the Bloody Palace mode. Nero's Devil Brigger is strong but when it comes to the lightning monster, you can't hit it until you wore off its lightning plus the devil brigger is limited to capture one monster. I couldn't survive in the Bloody Palace using Nero (sad) - reached level 81 before Game Over. Dante on the other hand, makes to level 101 easily. Don't know but it really feel safe using Dante.

But in terms of action, Nero owns. Especially when he uses Devil Bringer on bosses, cool beating action LOL! Love it when Nero captures the pope guy, whack whack whack! ^^

And I thought I've already 'abide' by the rules of signature.

I have been saving up for a PS3. They're so expensive it seems though. I wish that I had that kind of money. I have played the other DMC games and I like them. Someone told me that the graphics on this DMC4 are really amazing. They have DMC4 for the computer too.

Yeah, the graphics are on top notch. Actually I played DMC 4 on PC, you should try getting the PC version if you're not that hurry in getting a PS 3.

I have to admit:

DANTE IS WAY BETTER! There, I said it. xD

Fighting against Echidna was a trial and error, but I managed to defeat her. And it's way QUICKER using Dante. I think I only used Swordmaster and Trickster styles to beat her down. She was still a tough cookie, Dante got killed 3 times, and for the fourth time, at her fraction of life, I used Holy Water xDDDDD SHAME, w00t0s. (Not just Dante, Nero too *gasp*)
Thanks for the quick strategys, Jon and Squallpayne :)

But fighting against Bael and Berial were great enough :) Not that difficult, just rely on Swordmaster and Trickster styles. Now I'm at Mission 17, got vexed by more Mephistos and Altos. Can't wait for the rest :DDDDD

The Lightning fiend thing really annoyed me like hell.

Oh hell yes, I adore Pandora (Heh heh, came out after defeating Bael, a 'cold case' *drum roll* xDDD) Best Devil Arms ever. Gilgamesh... I rarely used it though. It looks pretty monstrous for Dante -_-;; Strong, but monstrous.

DMC4 is available on PC? Wow. Is the price as same as the PS3 version?

I miss Nero's shouting xD KYRIEEEEEEEE~~~!!!

Just in case you didn't know, if you beat "Dante must die" mode you'll unlock super Nero and Super Dante (unlimited devil trigger). If you really don't want to spoil the game, hehehe don't use Pandora with super Dante.

Don't know about PS3 dmc 4 disc price but it should be the same as PC's, I guess. :P

But I love using Pandora~ clever little cold case >:3
I don't care much on Super Dante or Super Nero--- I never fond of using Devil Triggers ^_^;; What happened if Super Dante uses Pandora? Was it weird? Deadly? WTF-like? I'm so curious...

Well, I bought DMC4 on sale price--- half price of original price (used to be 50euros, now 25euros).

I guess I should continue DMC4 on Halloween night :D Sorry, no candy tomorrow night, kids xD

25 Euros, hmm that's quite the price...the one I bought was 39.90 USD. Somewhere around there I think.

Basically every move becomes double deal and damage once Nero/Dante in Devil Trigger form. Take Trickster air dodge move, in devil trigger form Dante could perform twice instead of once. Pandora and Gunslinger mode? Let just say he'll be sending dozens of missles all over the place, in a scary pace, unlimited missle ammo, monsters scattering into pieces, and then bossess dying pathetically lol. Its the only time I let go of my keyboard and apologize, promising not to use it anymore...total spoiler!

That'll definitely improve my grades xDDDDD Wonder if that destroy Sanctus to smithereens.

$39.90 for the PC format? Wow, the price's not bad for a badass PC game :D You should have bashed your keyboard real bad xD Don't worry, it's a compliment alright xD lol

I'm on Mission 20 (finally). An encore fight with Sanctus, this should have parts. It's way tougher than the first encounter. I know the strategy, but this really is a matter of timing. Gah. Weirdly enough, during the Stairs of Trial (M19), Nero fought Echidna again--- but this time it was easy. Way easy. Absolutely weird. No another tries, just once. No Holy Water too :D This means my thinking has been evolved xDDDD lol, I'm just talkin' stoopid.

Damn, I want Dante back. xD

Heh heh heh, yeah I had the same feeling when I got back using Nero after enjoying slaying with Dante. Dante's pretty old in this game (but still cool), hopefully they won't make him a total grandpa in DMC 5.

Nah, its not stupid. I guess you were trying to say that fighting a boss for a couple of times makes the next battles easier, like I mentioned earlier..reading the boss in DMC 4 is very easy compared to DMC 3. I don't know if you guys noticed but the final battle with Vergil in DMC 3, Vergil don't have attack patterns. His moves just comes out, randomly.

If you want to enjoy Dante ^^, try using him in Bloody Palace mode. You'll get to battle tonnes of monsters and all the bosses using him alone, no items are allowed.

xD Dante's not old!!! It's uh--- accelerated ageing! xD No, he's not old!!! xDDD lol, i'm such a fangirl.
Seriously, no more gramps fighting each other! My god, it's just funny. It just reminded me of Old Snake and Liquid Ocelot fought together in MGS4. xD Oh, younguns have no respects for oldies xD We have to admit some are old farts that can pull out a solid performance >=3

I am definitely that kind of person. I let myself lose in boss battles for few times, you know, for me to confirm the strategy I'm thinking over. Always work. Slowness is virtue. I do agree that fight against Vergil in the final mission of DMC3 was absolutely tough! I remembered I bought few L green stars xD Goddamn Vergil, he was one toughass boy.

Can't wait for the Bloody Palace in DMC4! Always a best stress-beating method :3

EDIT on 06/11/08: I already finished DMC4 last night (05/11) and I found it was just a lowdown. The ending was not as epic as I thought. And the damn Sanctus Saviour battle was pointless and tedious. And I didn't managed to save Kyrie and I got a D for the whole mission >=(
Meh, at least Bloody Palace is unlocked! :D I gotta train my stylish battle moves for Son Of Sparda level xD

Re: Devil May Cry 4
Link | by squallpayne on 2008-11-08 13:26:19
@farboct: Congratulations on finishing DMC4! The ending simply means they'll be DMC 5, and maybe Dante getting even older haha. The difference if you saved Kyrie is there'll be a hidden ending thats all.

My opinion, the hardest mode for me is Dante Must Die. There was a time I got stuck in the game room (Nero rolling dice), and the rules were different added with crazy bosses fight everytime it falls to red spot. Rolling the die again and again near the finish dot, omg...I'm dice-phobic now.

And I thought I've already 'abide' by the rules of signature.

I'm trying to get the hidden ending though. xD But I'm always distracted over Bloody Palace and the current Son of Sparda level. Wow, I don't know whether I can reach Dante/Nero Must Die level. Oh gawd, the game room has boss battles?! 0_0 noes, looks like stairs of trial isn't enough! xD

I've been to DMC forums in facebook and some claimed Nero is the reincarnation of Sparda. It sounds pretty creepy to me, but I do see Nero as an echo of Sparda~ he gets a bit of attributes that of Sparda. I never played DMC1 and 2 yet, so I'm a bit blur on that part of history -_-

Re: Devil May Cry 4
Link | by on 2008-11-09 09:30:34
He seems to me as more of a reincarnation of Vergil rather than Sparda. We never really get to know Sparda very much except through what we hear so there's little to go on in the theory. The most likely case is as I said before, Nero has no connection whatsoever to DMC and was just made up for the sake of DMC4.

The hidden ending in my opinion was the coolest (albeit kinda of funny too) scene. It's a Charlies Angels kind of ending.

Yeah, at first I thought the ending will somehow relate Nero to Vergil. The masamune was originally Vergil's and somehow Nero unlocked it..so I thought Nero has Vergil's blood or whatsoever in him.
