@Imppy- I guess it can't be split into 'professionals' and 'beginners'. I would put it as people who live only for RP's and people who just want RP'ing to be fun. I believe there is a Do's and Don't thread, but it's lost somewhere.>.>    |

I'm not sure, someone was asking for RP tips and made it a thread. So that would be basically a Do's and Don't thread. I'll look for it. |

An RPing do's and don'ts rules/guide? That will be a good idea. I think some forums already implimented that too. And what style does this RP section use? (ie Paragraph form -The wind is playing with my hair, ruffling it up a bit....- or the name:post style? -Midori: HEY EVERYONE!!!-) I don't wanna look like an idiot and not follow the proper RPing etiquette of this Forum.... -Kyuka Midori

Everyone seems to just use whatever style they like most, it doesn't affect the RP's so it's no problem. Gendou City doesn't really have a set style, but most people (Including myself) prefer the "Name: Hey" method. |

*ahem* "Name:Hey" Method is a name for the posting format in a RP. It follows the principles of a 'script' in a play. For example: Midori: Yo Yuki-chan! *Aproches Yuki while waving* Yuki: *mutters*... hello Midori-chan. Midori: How are you? Yuki:*emotionless* Good. You? Midori:Fine. Want to go to that cafe? *points to the cafe* Yuki:.... Ok *they both went to the cafe* It is fairly basic. And since this forum is a freestyle type, I prefer and will type in pharagraph form (but not too long, I hate those...). Got it? -Midori-chan

Hmmm, I think i Prefer the quote style haha ^^ "Hi, yo whatsup?" Lol, yah, I think that styles easier...though in script writing it IS much easier to know whose talking in that such. Is there like any RPS which follows like story writing style? Jus wondering. well, I used to be one of those people who wrote a lot, but i don't write as much anymore ^^;;, cept in like michiguy hunting II ^^  |

The quote style could also be implemented to the pharagraph style like so: "Its raining" a figure said as he watches from a tall window as the water droped down. "... Like the time when..." a female voice responded as she stood next to the figure... yada yada yada.... Only an example. RPS's that follows story writing style could be found anywhere, if you know how to look for them. Take for example, The Snafu Comic forums. Inside there is a sub forum for one of the webcomics there, EverAfter (a great webcomic, a must read), and a RP started up there following the story writing style. It is long and troublesome, but really good at creating an atmosphere on a RP. To find more, Go to google, search up "Grim tales from down bellow", click the first link, and go to forums. I don't like the paragraph style myself. I don't feel like writing a novel every time I RP. I'm not a very good descriptive writer anyway, I'm only good with the plot. |

Yeah, back in the DARK ANGEL RP, I had "some" posts (with Kay) where we had some very large and detailed posts. It wasn't like we did it a lot, but when we did do it, I had a lot of fun and it was something that wasn't so common in RPing; especially in that RP. :D

The only posts I made that were close to para posts were when I was having conversations between my characters for about 10 or 15 lines. The Dark Angel RP was one of the best. |

Yeah it was. It was a free-story line as well, right? If I remember correctly. It was more familiar for me instead of the Gundam SEED one (not trying to diss on that RP). I only knew of Wing, not to much of SEED or after, but Dark Angel RP... we just had fun, period. Hope it comes back one day! :D

It was back, but it died again. Dark Angel Rebirth. Only lasted a few posts. The Dark Angel RP was more familiar because it had been around a lot longer. It was the longest running RP for a long time and was really fun, it was also not based on any anime so it was for everyone. It did have a free storyline, the only actual story path that was followed was when I joined and came up with Kamikaze, after a while he became the main focus of the story instead of the Dark Angel.XD Also, you were here for the Dark Angel thread, but left a little while after the Gundam Seed thread and didn't come back till after it ended. |

Lol, Yea, I remember the Dark Angel Rebirth ^^, though I've only read so many of the first Dark Angel RP lol... Tecnically, it's really not finished so whenever you find something to do again...u can restart haha, but I don't know what to do in that at the moment. lol |

Rebirth was pretty much a continuation of sorts, we wanted to finish the story but the only members from the original that were still around were myself, Bloodymoon and Sagara I believe. Eternal, Sero and a host of other people slowly left so we just couldn't bring it back to finish it. It was so close to the ending too.T_T In Rebirth I had to make up half of the stuff that was supposed to have happened in the first one. Anyway, I'm rambling. I've also heard requests to make a continuation, or another kind of Gundam RP. A few ideas (albeit silly ideas) were: -Next Gen: Involving the children of the characters from Gundam Seed Fate as adults or 17-23 years olds. (Not going to happen because it's a silly idea and then there would pretty much be double the characters than there were already.) -Past: One based around the F.A.T.E program and all the events of the characters as they were years before the war. (Tossed out because the characters wouldn't be allowed to meet each other. -Gundam Wing: One set with different characters, different suits and in the UC universe in a Gundam Wing style RP. (Reason for not trying: After the crap I had to deal with in MS Gundam Seed Fate involving technology/weapons/OS/abilities and so forth, I would really like to never go through that again. I jsut don't want that kind of hassle running an RP where UC tech is actually allowed. That would be a nightmare.) Also, I already have about 4 RP's running at the moment and I'm part of another. So I won't be making news one for a while. |
