What's more, some RPers are so...blah~ lots of wrong grammar and spelling [beyond accidental mistakes] and usually when they Roleplay they tend to act as if they're god-moding or something [ex: A monster went through Imppy, he grabbed his sword and killed the monster in half. Imppy: "tch. so waste of time"] Roleplaying is not just for fun, it's also a learning experience for literary purposes, especially practicing english and reading books. It's to enhance one's imagination and such. Probably if I were a mod I can make a sticky about basic RP rules O_o I'm such a dreamer.  |

That's interesting. I never thought about RP's that way. Now that's you've given me some new insight I totally agree with you. I only just started joining RP's though so I guess my words wouldn't count, heh heh ^^;  |

Of course people who can speak it as their native tounge have no excuse but not everyone here can. As for Gendou City becoming inactive, I disagree, there are still many posts being made and a lot of RP's quite active.    |

Ora... gomen ne... I always misword my intention. I mean that people are not posting as much as they used to be. I guess Michiyo-guy hunting affected the amount of activity in Gendou City...

okay, so there are exceptions on the ones who don't speak english very well due to their nationality, so I guess it would be a pretty good opportunity for them to join RPs as such so they can learn how. It's one of the advantages on joining forums and RP sites, I've noticed that. Oh, and ah~ what annoy me most are speed posting @_@ some people in RPs post too much that they exceed more than one page already, I guess the general rule [which I find rarely followed] here in Gendou City about 100 posts per day is already too much. I can't follow up some RPs that I've decided to quit then X_x |

Speed posting? yeah, i think i agree with immpy... wonder if i get the name right?! laughs. the progression of RP story is simpy fast to catch.. =/ my my!!

hi guys, just joind in yesterday to download music but when i found this area of the site i was intrigued. i went through the whole posts in this thread and i think i have a few recommendations. although these are just suggestions so the people in charge of the headquarters, feel free to criticize. ^_^ Issues about dead (or soon to be tagged dead) threads: why dont the guys who are pretty active put a tag on the last post in bold capital letters that the thread would soon be dead and recommend to new RPers different threads that match or are somewhat alike to the one that is going to be closed. you know like adding up a link or sumthin? since you guys also run succesful threads of your own.. maybe you can recommend some good, active threads to newbies like me and put it as a last post on the closing thread. wrong grammar or poor use of spelling and english: well, we cant really help it if some guys are'nt that good in english but at least they try and make an effort to relay their thought. kudos to them. but maybe a good way to go at it is if for example you're having trouble with english, why not start a thread that focus on your language such as chinese or korean? put it up as a bar, loung, or sumthin with a sign saying THIS BAR IS FOR CHINESE SPEAKERS or sumthin of the sort? Variation of Threads: i saw this in a different forum site, they have a mod that is capable of merging threads into a column, you know, like putting up a sign that says Shopping District or sumthing, then that thread would have a sub-thread, kinda like a shop inside so then RPers could choose where to go to or something. i'm not really sure if that is possible since i dont think there is a mod or admin who runs this section but it can be something you guys could suggest to Gendou... hope all this blabberin' helps... coz after i've spent a good 3 hours staring at my monitor reading these posts i think they're pretty good suggestions. let me know what you guys think. ^_^ |

..... Too much effort and time to do those..... And about the dead RPs, putting a tag on them is too troublesome... and people shoud realized that any RPs BEYOND the first page are inactive and/or dead. It is common sense. There are also a date on where the latest post is posted on that particular thread... so unless people are not that attentive (.... really dumb to say.... people these days are really NOT attentive.... that is already a given), we wouldn't need to place a marker..... All other suggestion are too troublesome and time consuming. Gendou-sama does all the coding (bow down to him! He is ther person who made this site as it is!!!) and a handful of selected people chosen to mod the place. Gendou-sama also has a life outside here so all those will be too troublesome. It is good as it is.

Well, it IS troublesome, even for gendou. He does all the programming and coding in this type of layout, and creating subtopics would cost a large amount of space in Gendou...remember, there are also other Topics beside Gendou City, and people don't usually come here to RP often. I suggest putting subtopics into RP sites (Trust me, I'm also joining an RP site). Focusing on wrong grammar and spelling suggestions, creating a thread that is only dedicated to a particular language would be difficult, since all of the members in this forum community have different languages, so it's best to use english since it's universal through communication purposes. |

@Imppy- The thing I hate about RP sites, particular ones is that they are sometimes a little too serious. I'm not the kind of RP'er that types up an essay whenever I'm posting for an RP (Bad enough you have to do them in school all the time, why do it elsewhere.) with those sites if you don't do that the members freak at you or kick you out (Or tell you to start doing it.). I like lax RP'ing, short posts kept to a few lines or more and nothing dead serious that makes it seem like your trying to write a novel. That's why I choose to RP here in Gendou and Gendou only. |

@ Jon Yush~! That's the reason for me too oωo that's why I don't RP that often on RP sites now since they're taking it off the chain...like...novelists~! :0 Well, you can't help it anyway, you can call them "professionals" since they've gone through so many imaginations tebayo~ I dunno if that's a good thing or a bad thing though XD the way they RP is very detailed and complex, even RPs Beginners sections are already posting long posts, and that's just the beginners section, I've also gone through even more complicated RPs, the posts are just TOO long to read that it only takes 2-4 posts to finish a page tebayo~ @ SinWeaver Yeep~ probably better if it was also stickied, I have a few ideas on how to write that too--Basic Roleplaying for nubs and stuff~ (well, remove the 'nubs') bla~ well, I dunno, I may ask permission at Gendou if I/we can make a post like that here in Gendou City dattebayo~ Woot~ I think I'm posting long posts today oωo |
