Yes. It's called raging hormones, a phenomenon often observed in adolescents but by no means restricted to them. Frankly, it's mostly up to luck whether such a relationship works out. There is no such thing as 'true love' at first sight unless you belive in premonition, which is to say that it is impossible to reliably fall permanently in love with someone at first sight unless you are a VERY obsessive and vaugely creepy person.

Love at the 1st sight should be called CRUSH at the first sight, which eventually grows to love. |

Whatever or whenever something happens..i would always think of that person..and it's like the shadow of the image is in front of my eyes~ Even when i'm watching tv,when you look at those character~on their romance~you would eventually thinking that you and that person would replace each other at their positions and... (too much imaginary..lol) |

I guess I do - although I don't think it'll ever happen to me. I'm too chicken, and too cynical about people in general. Guilty until proven innocent, you might say. But I can dream . . . and I think it would be wonderful if two people fell in love after just seeing each other. Because they were meant for each other . . . and I'm starting to feel disillusioned by my weak reason, so I'll stop here.

No, I don't believe in love at first sight. That thrill you experience when you see someone for the first time is just very strong attraction. Attraction is not love. |
Re: Do you Believe in Love at First Sight?

I don't believe in it. Love at first sight is misinterpreted. When you meet an attractive person, you want to get to know them, and in the process, you may fall in love. It may take anywhere from days to months, to even a few minutes. Physical attraction is the ice-breaker, so-to-speak. In my experience, the women I fell in love with were my friends. Don't get me wrong, I don't fall in love with every female friend of mine! So far, I've only fallen in love twice. But I'm still young, and there's a whole world of new friends out there :) However, it is a nice idea, the thought of two people falling madly in love with each other at first sight. From across the room, there eyes meet and they knew they were meant to be... X) |

I don't believe in love at first sight. How could you love someone you haven't even known yet? I think to love someone, you have to know him/her first, accepting his/her weakness and strength... If you first saw someone and "feeling something funny", I think it's crush, not love... That's my opinion ^^ |

after reading the first page. WOW! It's a fairytale come true. As for me, I still believe in love at first sight, but its hardly gonna happen to me. sure I'll gain interest at first sight but I'm the observant type I just observe that person. Not to the point of stalking OK. |

I believe love at first sight. It tells me that some person or thing has certain attributes and/or characteristics that attracts me. But it is definitely not a full form of love, maybe just a part of love. Without it, it's hard to tell me what is love and when will I feel this kind of love and will be loved. Love. It's damn mysterious to any human beings. *sigh* |

I don't really believe in love at first sight; rather, I believe in "infatuation" at first sight. |

I don't believe in love at first site, it seems to be more of an infatuation when someone becomes attracted to someone at an instant, plus that feeling never does last. |
Re: Do you Believe in Love at First Sight?

Well, in my opinion, I don't believe in Love at first Sight. How can Love be at First Sight if Love is Blind? And and and. How can you love a person without even getting to know the person? It's like you're beating the meaning of love. Lol. So, it's a no for me. But that's my opinion. :DD Love is still love, whether you believe in Love at First Sight or not. So keep on Loving! |

Shocker-mommy-golly-licious great balls of fire! (LOL) If that is true (love at first sight).. Well, of course not, 1st, you've just met, so what do you know about that certain guy/girl? 2nd, first time right? So maybe it's just a crush, you maybe just attracted to him/her.. 3rd, true love takes time, longer than just a moment of first sight, and even longer than a year, get it? |

I just re-read the entire thread including my postys made when the thread first started. It seems that may of you don't believe in many things including love at first site. Today it has boiled down to is it love or lust at first sight. Since going back through the thread I haven't really changed my mind. There is such a thing as love at first sight only I don't know if it's from the first instant of meeting. It certainly wasn't for me considering we started our relationship by snapping at each other. Yet love did bloom within those first few hours we spent together so much that it still carries forth today 25 years later despite good times and very bad times. Can you fall out of love? I've seen a lot of people do that. I'm just not sure I can. If you haven't read this thread form the beginning please do. |

no. attracted, yes. but love, no. most probably that "love" is just a simple infatuation of a person. love between two people involves commitment, and it takes time and a whole lot of other factors to achieve it. |
Re: Do you Believe in Love at First Sight?

it's different for everyone.it can be like Ariel and Eric from the Little Mermaid, where they just instantly fell in love. or it can be like Tarzan and Jane, where they spent time together and got to know about other other. yes, i believe in love at first sight. from what i know, my mother loved me when she first saw me. when my baby cousin was first born, i loved her. that is the "love at first sight" that i believe in. |

Frankly, no, I don't .I don't believe in love at all, I believe that humans believe they're in "love" but its really just a need for companionship. |
