Well I haven't read all of the posts so I'll just cut straight to the chase and state my opinion of the possible up coming Live action movie, and withhold my comments on Rebuild of Evangelion at this time. Personally I just hope that it comes out descent to the point that WETA does not accidently angering the Evangelion community. I think everyone will know what would happen it they were to do a poor job. But then again it also adds pressure on their part as they try to do a good job and ensure it turns out well. I for one care mostly for the graphics. I'm interested on how they will present Tokyo-3, the Evangelions, the Angels and the like. But that's just me, as I'm really into Computer Animation and such, or rather seeing the products of it. I also noticed people saying about the new names of the characters very early on, I swear if that's true, I am going to kill myself. And I swear to god that if the characters appear like that I will kill myself. I really, honest to god hope they at the very least cast Rei with maybe an Asian girl. For some reason the idea of an Asian girl playing the role of Rei Ayanami suits well. But that's just my opinion. Well anyways, that's all from me Cheers ^^ Ja ne  |

you've got to understand where they are coming from. Names like rei, asuka, and shinji don't appeal to western audiences. And since the film will most likely be filmed in europe (this is what weta said) names like shinji wont make sense if its a white actor. As you said ghazghkull this is not concrete and I certainly hope they will not change the names or use white actors, nothing against white actors but it just wont feel right. What I am most concerned about is the presentation of the story itself. I dont want so many changes to be made that it doesnt feel like evangelion. I will become pissed if that happens. All I know is when I see eva 01 and sachiel face of in real time, im gonna go nuts! Feo Muchacho  Japanese girls love Darth Vader...... |
