@Roxas - Please watch the powerplaying. It's difficult to make villain characters if they just get beaten without a fight. It also causes things to escalate.

That goes for everyone by the way, and is a generally accepted rule for RP's. You can't have threatening antagonists if they can't do anything.

Zen plans on coming back as well (to my knowledge). Just to let everyone know.

[Vermillion Sisterhood Compound - Underground Prison]

Jillian waited for Malvin to move closer before holding her hands to the ground. The whip around her waist flew up and struck Malvin across the chest, she pushed off the floor and flipped back onto the wall behind her. The tip of whip began to move around her, continuing to point at Malvin and track his movements.

"That's it? That's what gives you that high and mighty attitude? Darren! Show them all how it's done."

Miranda was still waiting in the wings as the battle was unfolding, looking out for the children hiding nearby. She felt a rumbling coming from the hallway behind her, as well as the one on the opposite side of the large room.

"I really hope that isn't what I think it is."

Several men looking identical to Darren appeared on the other side of the room, and the rumbling came to a stop at the same time. Miranda tilted her head back and was immediately met with Darren's face staring down at her, snarling.

"Why are you so angry? Not to brag or anything but you've got a pretty good view fro-"

The man shot his fist down at Miranda, but she sidestepped and hopped up onto his shoulder before driving her scythe into his back. Darren stood up straight again and one of the other Darren's pulled the tip of the scythe out of his back, holding it over his head and leaving Miranda dangling from it.

"Umm. . .any chance you're stupid enough to buy into the excuse that I was just doing some acupuncture on him?"

(I'm losing count of remaining Darrens. The fact that they have same names is confusing. If I'm correct, one of them was beaten already by Arden, one still near Jillian and unknown numbers of others just approached Miranda)
@Roxas: I agree with Jon. What's the point of defeating the major villian early-on? If you're playing a powerful character, make sure your character still has troubles, like getting careless and getting hit with a non-fatal poison, or something like that. There's little point in "A used the skill that defeated B instantly"?
@Jon: Btw, I know it doesn't matter much, but mind updating the Player List at first post?

[Underground Prison]
Ryuu and one of the clones, or so Ryuu assumed, were standing still since Ryuu arrived. Neither of them did any moves. Finally, Ryuu broke their silence.
Ryuu: What's wrong, big guy? Lost confidence in your strength?
His provokation wasn't very agressive, but as he said that, his opponent moved. Darren raised his axe and made a heavy swing downwards towards Ryuu. As expected, Ryuu raised his shield to block his attack. That outcome was predictable for anyone watching. But the moment axe touched shield, it hit away, along with Darren's arm, making him raise it above himself, as if axe got hit away by an even stronger block. At that moment Ryuu leaned forward and bashed Darren with his shield. Despite the difference in size Darren flyed through the room and hit the wall with his back. Before he could fall, Ryuu caught up to him. His shield disappeared somewhere, but now he was wearing something that looked like an arm guard with a spike sticking along his arm, as if he was wearing a modified version of katar. As Darren was falling from the wall, Ryuu pierced his chest with that spike, impaling him to the wall.
Ryuu: Discharge!
An impact, similar to a hit of a hammer could get heard and the next moment Darren's chest exploded, leaving him with a huge hole in it. Ryuu stood aside, letting him fall to the ground. He looked at his now-dead opponent and turned around.
Ryuu: You had a bad opponent. I'm not going to lose to a clone. Especially power-based clone. Well then, anyone needs help?.. After I rest a bit.
Saying that, Ryuu sat next to the wall, trying to catch his breath.

(Ryuu used blast shield to repel axe swing, then blast shield again to push opponent, turned Requiem into smaller form and used its stake's discharge. My character's shield is extremely useful against such power-based opponents, as heavy swings get repelled by blast shield. Though if Ryuu were to fight Jillian, or any other agility/speed-based opponent, he'd actually be in more of a trouble than anyone else, as his shield is heavy. Btw, that stake's discharge and shield's smaller form are pretty much similar to Revolver Stake of Destiny's character, though it drains user's stamina rapidly.)

Arden recovered from his fatigue as a group of giants like he slain before rushes to the group's location. One of them rushes to Arden, Arden grabs the hammer from the giant that he slain before.

" Lets do this... "

Arden then clashes with the giant, they both strikes violently until Arden parries the giant's strike, catching it off guard. Arden then rushes to the giant and swings his hammer upward, hitting the giant's jaw, he immediately jumps to the giant and swings the hammer downward, breaking the giant's skull. Arden finishes by landing another hard hit to the jaw. It was hard enough to decapitate the giant's head. As the head is still in the air, Arden kicks it towards another giant nearby.

" Another kill... " Arden said silently.

Arden leaned to the wall beside Ryuu. " I'll just stay here and watch till I recover... "

Excellen could no longer just sit there and watch. With Miranda dangling in the air holding onto her scythe, she would easily fit into the palm of one of the giants...and crushed. Slowly getting up and staggering to position herself parallel to the wall of giants, Excellen focused, preparing herself.

"Tesla Drive, maximum output! Boost!"

Taking one step forward and another step to leap a few centimeters off the ground, a huge burst of green particles blasted out from the rear of her armor, propelling her forward and faster into the air at speeds she would find hard to achieve by walking. Swiftly blazing past the wall of giants, Excellen tackled Miranda and her scythe, landing on the far side of the room like a red shockwave, cratering the drop zone badly with a huge ominous boom and kicking up a lot of dust.

"...", was the only thing Excellen could mutter to the scythe-wielding girl in her arms. Her scythe came falling down from a high arc trajectory a bit later, clanking off Excellen's armor and landing sideways beside them. Excellen's stomach growled.

@All - Player list has been updated. I've also added some information in about Darren.

[Vermillion Sisterhood Compound - Underground Prison]

Miranda was a little dumbfounded as to what had just happened. She looked to either side of her, noticing that she was now being carried bridal style by the strange girl from the prison. Her scythe bounced harmlessly off of the girl and landed on the floor beside them, and the girl's stomach proceeded to growl.

"I hope you're not expecting a kiss, because it'll take a bit more than this to sweep me off my feet. Not in a literal sense obviously. I guess I could give you some more of this though, in place of some sugar."

Miranda took out the vial with the mysterious liquid in it and stuck it in the girl's mouth.

"Enjoy, I guess. I'm not really sure how that stuff actually works to be honest."

She noticed that some of the others were beginning to rest away from the battle and simply spectating. She pouted and called her scythe to her, using it to flip out of the girl's arms to the ground.

"Don't tell me that you're all just going to sit there and watch. That's my thing."

The compound suddenly began to shake much more violently than before. Pieces of the building were crumbling and debris was starting to fall from the ceiling. One piece of the ceiling came down and struck one of the Darren's, crushing his head under it's weight.

"On second thought, maybe we should get the hell out of here guys. I think our Avirian friends are getting a little carried away up there."

As Arden watches the fights, he thought to himself.

"Problem senses... tingling."

Then, the compound started to shake rather violently, debris started falling, one of it hits one of the giant's head, crushing his head.

"Oh God... Better leave before we suffer the same fate as those giants."

Arden gestured to the others to follow him.

"Come on now, lets get going."

[Liel Vanguard]
[Vermillion Sisterhood Compound - Underground Prison]

Liel's plea for help was quickly answered, as Arden deals with the other giant, and in the end, defeated him. Arden's victory is just the beginning though. The prison floor rumbled, and soon, several more identical Darren giants appeared behind the party.

"How... the hell.." Liel was awestruck by the sight of the Darrens.

The clone in front of Liel was not that gentleman enough to let her attack, and he attacked her. Fortunately the insensitive warrior quickly noticed the attack, and barely evaded it in time. The two traded strikes and dodges, but it is slowly favoring towards Darren, as his massive size, defense and strength are too difficult for Liel.

"Uh oh... I shouldn't tackle with the fella head-on..." She looked at Darren, exhausted and sweating heavily.

Seeing others busy taking care of other Darrens, she has no choice but to continue. After dodging a slow moving attack by her enemy, Liel tried to flank Darren and attack his sides, where his defense is the weakest. However, he saw through her tactics, and smacked Liel with his left hand on her head. The blow from Darren's unarmed left handed blow made Liel groggy long enough for Darren to prepare for an attack.

* * *

By the time Liel regains her control, Darren was swinging his weapon midway towards at her. Shocked, her reflexes kicked in and Liel went into blocking stance. In that very second, she quickly remembered and gasped that her shield was now damaged, and it was too late.

The warhammer's blow on the metal shield was more punishing than before, sending Liel to the ground and at the same time, knocking the shield off from her left arm. She groaned for every tumble she felt on the floor. As Liel was trying to drag herself up, she felt a tremendous pain from her left arm while she moved it.

"Argh, my arm...!" Liel gritted her teeth as she noticed her broken left arm.

But that is not over yet. While she was barely standing, the giant delivers another bone crushing blow to her chest. Liel took another fall down to the ground, and soon she was coughing blood. Being incapacitated by Darren's attack, her eyes stared at her enemy as he was moving into position to end her life.

"...this is... the end..."

A voice, echoed inside Liel's mind.

"Is this the way you want?"

"I... just too...weak..." She spoke back to her thoughts.

"Pathetic. Seems you have no idea about your hidden ability.*"

"...what?" Liel puzzled.

"Pfft. Let me show you. For only once." The voice chuckled.

* * *

Somehow, Liel managed to got back to her feet, with a longsword in hand, while slightly radiating a red aura. Darren was shocked upon the sight of it, and he quickly made an attack. The guardsman dodged it with ease, as if like she was possessed by a soul of a veteran soldier. The fight goes on, and this time, the odds are slowly against Darren.

Annoyed, Darren made a huge swing with his warhammer, in effort to hit his enemy and Liel simply evaded the strike backwards. While Darren was recovering from his recent move, she seized the change and dashed forward towards the giant. Liel swung her longsword, and slashed through his neck, thus ending the fight.

Shortly after Darren's defeat, the aura surrounding Liel quickly diminished, and the same time, the prison began to shake more violently, indicating the compound is slowly crumbling apart.

"Well, word of advice: Never give up until you have done your very last. But, I hope that your comrades will save you..." The voice said, as Liel returned back to normal.

But still, she went unconscious amidst of the falling debris, with her survival lies on the others' hands.

*Refering to Liel's Reaver ability, as this is the first time that she ever used it.

Boom.

Dust, fragments, debris, stone. Plinking harmlessly of the silent Excellen's armor, she watched as everyone began to disengage from combat. The scythe-wielder, the dual-wielder with axes and swords, the giant shield-wielder. While the dual-wielder gestured everyone in the party to move out with the children, there lay the unconscious ex-Guardswoman, unable to protect herself from the rain of stone and dust.

"..."

Excellen put away the empty vial in her mouth, put there by the scythe-wielder, then slowly walked up to the unconscious scythe-wielder, looking down at her, as one of the walking muscles did the same. Excellen slowly raised her head, to meet eye-to-eye with the giant muscle. Both had nothing to say. But both of their intentions were clear. When the muscled arm flexed and slowly moved to pick the unconscious ex-Guardswoman up, Excellen clenched her right fist and slightly moved her right arm, which made the colossus stop his arm reaching out, in mid-air. What kind of mental talking could be happening with the two silent figures?

"..."

As the hunking piece of muscle then began moving his arm towards the unconscious ex-Guardswoman again, Excellen smashed a falling rock in mid-air between them with her Stake, pulverizing it as the fragments harmlessly rained on the giant's chest. This was enough to have the giant reset his posture, and twist his body back for momentum, to deliver a punch filled with muscle and kinetic energy. Excellen narrowed her eyes, readying her right arm.

Boom. Dust, fragments, debris, stone.

The giant's arm lurched forward with brute strength, propelling itself through the air and towards the silent girl with flowing blue hair. Excellen thrust her right arm out to intercept. She had originally made to intercept the giant's punch with her Stake, to ruin his arm and continue driving the Stake into the giant, to end him. Instead, Excellen deflected the muscled punch to the side with her Stake's cylinder, by swinging her arm to the left. There was no more time to play about. Pointing her Stake up into the air, Excellen closed her eyes. Firing all six explosive cartridges in the Stake's revolving chambers rapidly in succession, the prison was filled with six deafening, ear-piercing sounds that scared the children following the party, and probably more elsewhere in the prison.

A smokescreen formed in the entire room, as Excellen and the ex-Guardswoman faded from the giant's smoky view. Under the cover of the smoke, Excellen picked up the severely damaged shield and the yet again bloodied longsword, then made her way over to the unconscious ex-Guardswoman.

"I have to be...gentle with her..."

Excellen began dragging the unconscious girl away in the smoke, swiping away any falling threats.

What she thought, and what she did was...diffferent...

Ryuu was still sitting near the wall when everything started to crumble. He felt a wall he was leaning to slowly cracking, sighed and stood up. After he did, he raised his shield above, covering himself from the falling rocks. Normally, shield was not a good of a defense in such situation, as it didn't reduce an impact much, promising a broken arm at least. But any rocks falling on Requiem got blasted to pieces right away due to Blast Shield. Still holding his shield arm above himself, Ryuu looked around. Noticing Excellen having to deal with collapsed Lien, falling rocks and being out of charges for Revolver Stake, Ryuu approached her. As he was walking towards her, he talked to himself.
Ryuu: Guess I gotta hurry myself. If I stay here for long I'll either run out of stamina to suspend Blast Shield, or get covered in a gravel, formed by those explosions...

As he finally approached Excellen and Lien, he just stood next to them, covering them too with his shield, which was big enough for that. Then he asked with a smile:
Ryuu: Ladies, want to share an umbrella? I'd offer my hand in carrying her too, but I don't think I can do much with just my left hand.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[Malvinder Leonheart][Vermillion Sisterhood Compound - Underground Prison]

As the entire prison started to crumble around them, Malvin looked on annoyed.

'Bloody Avarians are getting carried away.'

He narrowly managed to escape from Jillian's bite via a last second illusion that distorted her depth perception. She missed his arm by the literal skin of her teeth. As a particularly large piece of debris fell on Lien, Ryuu and the strange robot girl, Malvin knew that Ryuu was in trouble.

He quickly drew up some water from the pool and sent it over their heads while increasing its density. "Aqua Vocal: Kasa (Umbrella)," spoke Malvin as he made sure to cover them completely. The massive debris crashed on the water with it barely holding.

'That wont last long. I cant block a freaking building falling like this. Better hurry.'

He them scooted over to them while sweat dropping at the robot girl DRAGGING Lien on the ground.

Ryuu: "Ladies, want to share an umbrella? I'd offer my hand in carrying her too, but I don't think I can do much with just my left hand. "

Malvin: "Let me carry her then. Dragging her like that is not a way to treat a lady. Pass her over GENTLY."

He lifted Lien bridal-style as it was much, much easier. He then looked at the water above them and spoke,

"We better move. My water is strong but not ridiculous enough to block an entire building falling on it. Robot-girl, I know not your name but since they consider you an ally I need your help. Captain Akumu's right arm is being used to keep Requiem active, so please help cover him while we get out of here. If he complains, you have my permission to knock some sense in his head"

Arden gestured to the others to follow him: "Come on now, lets get going."

Malvin pointed with his chin to Arden: "You all heard the man, lets go! My water is not going to last any longer!"

She's Liel and not Lien...using her as plural or something? Ha...ha...ha.
-----------------------------------------

[Vermillion Sisterhood Compound - Underground Prison]

Excellen slowly let go of Liel's body, when the illusionist lifted her up.

"This form of transport must be normal down here...", Excellen thought to herself as she played with the seven empty cartridges in her left hand, making clinking sounds silently. Excellen was no longer falling behind while walking, thanks to the scythe-wielder's generous donation. Keeping pace with the rear of the party as they searched for the way out and gathered any children left behind, Excellen slowly swung the Stake's cylinder out and slowly, gently inserted new, loaded cartridges into the chambers, one by one.

Listening to the illusionist's words, Excellen thought to herself, again... "I'm...not a robot..."

"...Excellen.", she muttered to the illusionist while dusting off the pointy end of her weapon.

@All - Sorry I haven't been around Gendou at all over the past week or more (I think). I'm having a hard time with something in my life at the moment, and I've essentially been in an empty state for the past while. Unfortunately, things haven't been resolved yet.

Which brings me to my next point. It's very likely that tomorrow is going to bring me terrible news, and with the way I've been just waiting for this news, I'm not sure how long I'll be out of it once I actually get the news. I don't really want to talk about specifics, but suffice it to say, I'm probably going to have to leave someone in charge of the UtPBS RP for some time.

I'm sorry to do it, but I just don't think I'll have the willpower to do anything. I'll get in touch with someone when (but hopefully if) the time comes.

[Vermillion Sisterhood Compound - Underground Prison]

Miranda scooped up one of the children as she made her way towards the exit with the others, slinging the little boy over her left shoulder. Despite the events happening around her, she couldn't help but laugh at Malvinder's comments.

"Are you trying to escape, or getting ready to have a baby?"

The group escaped out the back entrance as the last Darren left standing shrugged off one of the large support pillars that had collapsed on him. Jillian pulled herself out from under the rubble and struggled to her feet. She was bleeding heavily from her left arm and had difficulty standing up straight.

"G. .get me out of here. Now!"

Darren went to pick her up, but also raised his fist and prepared to strike her. He was quickly stopped as Jillian's whip once again struck him across the chest.

"Don't get an-"

She winced heavily before continuing with her threat.

"-any ideas. I'm still in charge of you, and I can still enforce it."

Darren made no sound as he pushed forward toward an exit elsewhere in the complex.

[Skies Above Vermillion Sisterhood Compound - Avirian Ship]

The old gentleman was watching nervously from the deck of the ship as the remaining members of the organization could be seen fleeing from underneath the compound.

"Is there any sign of them yet?"

The younger man shook his head as he continued to watch more closely from the scope.

"Wait. Sir, I can see the mercenaries now. They have a number of children with them, but unfortunately it appears to be less than the number on our records."

The elderly man sighed wearily, but nonetheless managed to smile.

"It was too optimistic of us to expect all of the children to be found. We should at least be happy that they managed to rescue as many as they did."

The young officer stayed quiet for a moment as he tried to inspect one of the people on the ground.

"Oh no. Sir, we there's a bit of a problem. The group appears to be one member larger than before, and the new member appears to be. . .well, you should see for yourself."

He handed the scope to the older gentleman who propped his cane against the railing and took a look.

"Ah yes. I see why you are concerned. We will continue with the extraction however. Let us just hope that she no longer has any memory of her experiences."

He put down the scope and picked up his cane once again, then headed for the bridge of the ship.

"We will still have to report her existence of course, but for the time being we should not be worrying about possibilities and what-if scenario's. Prepare to land next to the group. We need to get them out of there quickly."

[Vermillion Sisterhood Compound - Above Ground]

Miranda stopped at the entrance of the complex and scanned the skies for the Avirian ship. It was quickly approaching the group, which relieved some of the doubts Miranda had regarding the Avirian's.

"Time to get the hell out of here. I'm sick of all those tight hallways and corridors."

She shuddered slightly, then remembered the young boy she had hanging off of her shoulder.

"Oh, sorry kid. Forgot about you there for a minute. I hope that wasn't too rough of a ride for you."

She carefully made her way over to the others and peaked over to see how Liel was doing.

"Is sleeping beauty alright? I figured she would be a little worse for wear after being beaten up and dragged around."

@Jonathan I hope for the best, good luck!

Xenkar Worldwake - Vermillion Sisterhood Compount Barracks
What seemed to be a heroic idea turned out to be boldy, man and his guts. But it was the only way the others could avoid most of the oncoming enemies. Xenkar fought relentlessly, striking down opponents with his swords. He did not kill them though, his swords were blunt and used as a bludgeoning tool rather than a blade. He beat the soldiers until they could fight no more.

When the airship came closer towards the castle, it was a sign for retreat. Hopefully the others had accomplished the objective without too much harm. Especially that beautiful face of Liel. It would be a shame should she be left with a scar on her cheek. Xenkar quickly finished off the rest of the attacking soldiers and ran towards the ship at full speed, hoping to see his comrades unharmed.

@Jon: Hope it's nothing fatal for you there.

[Above Prison]
After getting outside, Ryuu could finally lower his shield, as his arm was already getting numb from blocking all the falling rocks.
Ryuu: Oh, there's the ship. I was afraid we'd gonna have to figure out a way to leave this place on our own. If Requiem had all its functions, that wouldn't have been a problem for me, but right now... no hoverboard mode and I don't even have a parachute or something.

After saying that, Ryuu glanced at the children they managed to rescue. There weren't many of them, most likely there were others.
Ryuu: Think they transported the others to some other base? I don't want to think that there are still children in that collapsing building, especially cuz there's nothing we can do anymore... no time left to.

[Vermillion Sisterhood Compound - Above Ground]

Excellen felt sunlight for the first time, in a long time. Slowly stepping out from the crumbling exit, the warmth of the sun began to fill Excellen. She instinctively narrowed her eyes to the bright light she had not seen for ages. It felt nice to be bathed in the output of the nuclear fusion reactor. Slowly as her eyes adjusted to the light, Excellen widened her eyes, to look up. Stretching her hand out, to touch that pale blue sky.

But the underside of the massive Avirian airship obscured the view of her sky. The gloomy shadow of the airship passed over the group, as the children seemed relieved. Excellen felt differently. A feeling of something missing. She knew it was an airship, but that was all. However, she didn't attempt to recall.

Excellen stretched and sat down on the warm, stony floor. A slight breeze blew past, with her long, flowing blue hair swaying in the wind.

Then Excellen was hit by a tumbleweed.

[Malvinder Leonheart][Vermillion Sisterhood Compound - Underground Prison]

Malvin snorted at Miranda's laughter while wincing back a bit. He did leave himself open for that kind of answer. They raced through the compound with Malvin and Ryuu doing their best to protect them from derbies.

Malvin in particular had to watch his step as he was carrying Liel with one of the orphan girls on his back and arms around his neck. Eventually they made their way through the compound and up into sunlight. They spotted the Avarian airship coming down to pick them up.

'Now comes the tricky part. No telling what they would do.'

Ryuu: "Oh, there's the ship. I was afraid we'd gonna have to figure out a way to leave this place on our own. If Requiem had all its functions, that wouldn't have been a problem for me, but right now... no hoverboard mode and I don't even have a parachute or something."

Malvin: "Agreed, we drained most of our energy trying to keep all of us from being buried. The least they can do is pick us up."

Miranda made her way over and asked, "Is sleeping beauty alright? I figured she would be a little worse for wear after being beaten up and dragged around."

He slowly adjusted his hold on her and spoke, "Not too good. She's got a hell of a bruise on her cheek and I don't know if anything is broken. Her left arm is definitely broken or at the very least bruised and cracked. The Darren she was fighting also hit her hard in the chest. I did not have enough time to examine her properly but from what I saw after she was coughing blood at minimum she has cracked ribs. At worse, her organs might have been ruptured by the blow and she would be having internal bleeding. I only hope that a rib did not puncture a lung or something as bad as that..."

He stared at the leftover blood stain from Liel's mouth and frowned at Miranda, "She needs immediate medical attention. If we delay, I do not hold high prospects for her."

Nearby, Ryuu was examining the children they saved. "Think they transported the others to some other base? I don't want to think that there are still children in that collapsing building, especially cuz there's nothing we can do anymore... no time left to."

Malvin shook his head: "No idea. I know that Jillian managed to get some children out before I reached them. I...I...am torn. I want to hope that she got the rest of them out...but then...the commander part of me thinks that if they...passed away in the debris...it would be a much better fate that what that pedophile of a woman would have done with them. Do you all think that is cruel of me? That a part of me would rather see them at peace then alive and suffering under Jillian?"

Malvin shook his head as Excellen stretched and sat down on the warm, stony floor next to him. A slight breeze arrived at the airship came close to the ground that picked up the longer hair of those there. He gave a chuckle as Excellen was hit by a tumbleweed.

Malvin: "Alright there, Excellen was it? You seemed troubled."

[Vermillion Sisterhood Compound - Under the airship]

"...", was the only reply Excellen gave to Malvin. A gust of wind from the airship's touchdown made Excellen's forelocks dance.

"I am at optimal operating parameters.", came a soft reply. Looking up at the metallic hull of the airship, Excellen wondered. Where will she go now? Will someone take her away somewhere for two entire years before being released? Would she be under the command of someone else in the party? She didn't know. Watching the Avirian soldiers pour out and begin taking position around the airship with their weapons aiming wildly, Excellen picked up and tossed the tumbleweed away, then turned her gaze to the unconscious Liel while sitting in the shadow of the airship.

@Destiny - Sorry, I've been gone for quite some time due to that issue at home. It's not what I would call 'resolved', but I'm feeling better than I was. It's too bad that you'll be heading out so soon. When all is said and done, I hope that I'll see you back on Gendou and the RP scene.

[Under Avirian Airship]

"I hate to be the bad guy here, but there's no point in worrying about what happened to a bunch of kids that may not have even existed. We did what we could, so we just have to accept the results as they are."

The ship had finally touched down and a large detachment of Avirian soldiers came out of the hull. The children took off towards the older gentleman as he came into view. They briefly gathered around him before being led into the airship by some of the soldiers. The elderly gentleman and his younger cohort made their way towards the group, but stopped some distance away. Miranda cocked one of her eyes and whispered back to the others standing beside her.

"Anyone else getting a weird vibe? Something feels kind of off about this."

The gentleman looked stern and completely different than when the group had met him before.

"I appreciate what you all have done for us. There are quite a few families on Avira that will finally be able to close this dark chapter of their lives. I'm afraid to inform you however that our partnership will cease immediately."

Miranda was a little disgruntled after hearing this from the man, and she couldn't help but object right away.

"Hold up old man. That's all you're going to say after we saved a bunch of your country's kids that you failed to keep safe? You're not going to reward us, or let us see Avira, or even give us a ride back to where you got us?"

She paused for a moment before realizing what she had just said.

"Okay, well maybe not where you picked us up, but at least back to civilization."

The elderly man's expression didn't change in the slightest. He stepped back slightly as the soldiers moved in around him, as if expecting something.

"I don't recall ever stating that you would receive such rewards. I asked for your help, and you accepted. Truth be told, I was not technically permitted to seek your help at all. The only reason I did was because of the extreme circumstances. Even with the results you obtained, I would never be forgiven for rewarding you with such a thing as a trip to Avira. Besides that, you have one thing with you that Avira would prefer to wipe its hands of, and something else that you should be killed for even laying eyes on."

Miranda's scythe vanished from her hands, causing the soldier to instantly ready themselves.

"Well maybe we feel like you owe us something. You guys aren't exactly physical powerhouses, so what's to stop us from just forcing our way on?"

The elderly gentleman turned and headed back inside the ship, brushing off Miranda's comment as he went.

"None of you have the knowledge needed to operate technology such as this. You could force your way on, but you would only end up wrecking the ship and killing yourselves in the process."

The soldiers followed the man back into the ship and it lifted off shortly after. The group was left on the ground, watching as the Avirian's flew off into the distance. The scythe returned to Miranda's side and she sighed heavily.

"What the hell was that!? I knew Avirian's were secretive, but I didn't think they would be such bastards! What a rip."

She eventually composed herself and turned to face the others.

"Now what are we go. . ."

After turning to face the group, Miranda noticed something odd behind them all. She pointed at the small figure to draw everyone's attention, as she was unable to properly describe what she was seeing.

"Why aren't you. . up there!?"

Ezio was standing behind the group, apparently having climbed out of one of the craters caused by the Avirian artillery.

[Malvinder Leonheart][Under Avirian Airship]

"I am at optimal operating parameters.", came a soft reply from Excellen.

'The hell? optimal parameters...Seriously?'

Miranda decided to answer his question: "I hate to be the bad guy here, but there's no point in worrying about what happened to a bunch of kids that may not have even existed. We did what we could, so we just have to accept the results as they are."

he gave her a nod of thanks and spoke, "Thank you, for your words."

As the commander of the ship and his younger assistant walked towards them, a shiver went up Malvin's spine.

Miranda: "Anyone else getting a weird vibe? Something feels kind of off about this."

Malvin: "Hn, I get the feeling that we ain't gonna like this."

Finally the old man reached them with a stern expression that was a complete cahnge of his previous personality, "I appreciate what you all have done for us. There are quite a few families on Avira that will finally be able to close this dark chapter of their lives. I'm afraid to inform you however that our partnership will cease immediately."

Miranda: "Hold up old man. That's all you're going to say after we saved a bunch of your country's kids that you failed to keep safe? You're not going to reward us, or let us see Avira, or even give us a ride back to where you got us? Okay, well maybe not where you picked us up, but at least back to civilization."

Malvin then noticed several of the Avarian soldiers move to surround them as the old man continued, "I don't recall ever stating that you would receive such rewards.

Malvin was extremely pissed at this as he snarled at the old man, "You cowardly bastard. You actually have the AUDACITY to try something like this? Give me a good reason not to simply take your ship for trespassing on Lucine soil?"

Miranda next to him was just as indignant: "Well maybe we feel like you owe us something. You guys aren't exactly physical powerhouses, so what's to stop us from just forcing our way on?"

"None of you have the knowledge needed to operate technology such as this. You could force your way on, but you would only end up wrecking the ship and killing yourselves in the process."

Malvin glared daggers into the old man's back. There will be a reckoning for this, he swore mentally. The next time they meet, he planned some payback. He called out,

Malvin: "Old Avarian Bastard! Heed my words well. You just left your saviors who risked their lives for you alone and with heavily wounded in the middle of nowhere, you disgust the name of soldier. The next time we meet, you WILL pay for what you did here today. This I swear."

The soldiers followed the man back into the ship and it lifted off shortly after. The group was left on the ground, watching as the Avirian's flew off into the distance. Her scythe returned to Miranda's side and she sighed heavily.

"What the hell was that!? I knew Avirian's were secretive, but I didn't think they would be such bastards! What a rip."

She eventually composed herself and turned to face the others.

"Now what are we go. . ."

As Miranda pointed behind them, Malvin turned to spot Ezio climbing out of a craters caused by the Avirian artillery. Even Malvin was dumbfounded.

Malvin shook his head as he spoke, "Ezio, now why am I not surprised...The only minor miracle is that we are on Lucine soil. By my estimates when I spied out of the ship's window on the way here, we are about half a day's journey from the town of Magnolia. And further on, another day's journey to our new capital city, Selene. We need to get Liel here *gestures with chin to the unconscious girl in arms* some medical attention as soon as we can. I've met Magnolia's mayor personally before and she will help. Also if we can get to Selene, I will personally guaranty you all food, lodgings and the the full use of what facilities our country can provide. I can also arrange for a meeting with Princess Luna for us to discuss further."

He looked at his fellow...comrades, yes that was a good word. His fellow comrades and asked them, "Personally, when I'm plotting revenge on traitorous Avarians I would prefer to be clean, well fed and dry. What say you all?"

Xenkar Worldwake
Vermillion Sisterhood Compound - Upper grounds under airship

The arivian airship left shortly after abandoning the group. "Whats going on? Why is the ship leaving? Xenkar thought. Upon arrival Miranda pointed behind the group, Ezio was spotted climbing out of a crater. "Ezio? Why isn't he on the ship? Wha--" However, once Xenkar had looked back at the group, he saw Liel, unconscious and bruised leaning onto Malvin's back. She seemed unconscious, but her face was pale and seemed to be suffering. "We need to get Liel here some medical attention as soon as we can. I've met Magnolia's mayor personally before and she will help."

"Hold on, What happened to her?" said Xenkar in an anxious tone. "I may not look like a doctor, but I used to specialize in healing magic during my services within the Dadaeolos military.Give me ten minutes, she should be fine afterwards."
