@Toyumi - If you start watching Knights of Sidonia, let me know how it is. That is basically the only thing I see on that chart that I have a remote interest in.

Honest to got, half of that chart looks like the same damn show to me.

Other than that, now that Z/X Ignition is started (maybe anyway, not sure if it actually debuted yet), I'll have to watch the first episode of that like I said I was going to. Given how much free time I have this time of the year (stupid not having a full time job) there is no reason why I shouldn't be watching something.

Might be a bit late, but I want to share some of my impressions of anime mentioned in this thread.

Well damn, I watched Kami-sama no Inai Nichiyōbi and I have to say I was pretty impressed. First episode annoyed me so much that I didn't watch it for a while, but I'm glad I got back into it. I'm hoping for a second season. The episodes flew by like minutes.

SAO was pretty good. I wouldn't go so far as to call it the best anime (like some rabid fans do), but it's not so bad as all the haters seem to make it out to be. It has its flaws, but I think its pros outweigh them.

I expected Log Horizon to be a SAO clone, but was pleasantly surprised to see that it wasn't. If any of you guys like SAO, you might like this one. Of course, if you come into the biased mindset that SAO is THE only anime that can pull off an MMORPG setting, you're gonna have a bad time.

Yahari Ore no Seishun was pretty good. Probably because a lot of stuff there hits home for me. It's not overly dark or overly happy like a lot of other typical school animes; I'd call it bittersweet.

@Jon and Toyumi: Both of you should try Brynhildr in the Darkness if you're looking at something from Spring 2014 (though Log Horizon is still going on and it's a good show).

Summary from the chart makes it seem like some light-hearted fantasy. Spoiler alert: it's anything but.

I haven't watched the anime myself, but I read the manga. It's interesting; reminds me of a little like Death Note. If you're into that sort of stuff, give it a shot. Hopefully the anime doesn't butcher the manga (which happens more than I like). Also, the author (if I remember correctly) is the same guy that did Elfen Lied. I like Brynhildr a lot more though.

EDIT: I'm stupid. The anime for Brynhildr didn't even come out yet. Lol. But when it does come out, give it a shot I guess. And for Kamisama, I meant the episodes flew by like seconds. Minutes would be a given. >_>

@ Jon- I'll probably post my thoughts about the series here once it airs if you're still interested by then haha.

@ Temp- Kami-sama no Inai Nichiyobi was pretty good for what I watched of it. It was this past summer right? I was too busy to continue watching it on a weekly basis and then I forget where I left off in the series, I might pick it up sooner or later though. The only series I ended up watching from this past summer was Free! :x

Don't even get me started on SAO. I am one of those SAO haters haha, I couldn't stand it at all by the halfway point of the series so I had to drop it, and I kept up with it through episodic reviews as it crumbled with the whole sister/cousin thing.

I haven't seen Log Horizon or Yahari so I don't have any opinions on them. I might try Brynhildr, but the whole alien/magic-user thing from the description turned me off (Trying to combine both magic and aliens in the same series? It seems like a bit too much). I'll give it a shot though.

@Toyumi: Yeah, I think it's worth watching. I thought Free! was going to be some yaoi fanservice anime judging from the scathing criticism that was abundant way back when. Apparently it's not when I looked more into it, but the plot (from what I read off of wikipedia) isn't something that I'm that interested in (same reason why I didn't watch K-on! despite its humongous popularity).

Haha, that so? I still think you should give Log Horizon a try, since the only similarity between the two is that the setting is an MMORPG. I think I might like Log Horizon a bit more than SAO, tbh. Handles things more tastefully and intricately than SAO, in my opinion.

It's funny though. I only found out about Log Horizon when I read an issue of NEO at Barnes and Noble. Guy that reviewed it basically said for it to screw off and hop off the MMORPG bandwagon. I doubt the guy even watched two episodes of the series and was just blindly brownosing SAO. Well, I should have expected as much; IIRC, the magazine rated Bleach higher than Fate/zero (or another better anime). Anyways, I'm getting off topic.

As for Brynhildr, I had the same first impression. I decided to give it a chance anyways and didn't regret it.

Checked the Spring list, so probably the series that I might take are:

-> Knights of Sidonia
-> Mekaku City Actors (cause Kagerou Project XD)
-> Brynhildr
-> Mahouka (artwork reminds me of Shin Sekai Yori)
-> Black Bullet
-> Hitsugi no Chaika

Was waiting to post here again until a newer version of the spring chart came out so here it is!

@ Temp- I probably won't end up checking out Log Horizon at least not in the immediate future since it has 25 episodes and I already have a backlog of other anime I need to finish. Most importantly Steins;Gate, which I'm almost done with but not quite yet, it didn't help that I switched gears and started watching Breaking Bad last semester :x

I'll give Brynhildr a try if that's the case. I can't make any promises to continue it though since I can only keep up with 3-4 series while in uni (Thankfully though the series I'm currently watching aren't continuing into Spring so I'll have a clean slate to fill up with shows).

@ Emiya- You're not alone with wanting a Psycho-Pass season 2 I want one desperately it was a really great show! A lot of series that aired in that season turned out to be awesome shows, my all-time favorite Shin Sekai Yori, as well as Zetsuen no Tempest, etc. That really was a strong Fall season.

I have the same reasoning as you for checking out Mekaku City Actors haha, and I looked up the studios for SSY and Mahouka and they're not the same ones so it's interesting that you think that.

Edit @ Temp- Skylar pissed me off too until season 4 then she starts to get better, so don't worry you just have to wait it out a bit haha. And yes it's depressing but it's so good too!

@Toyumi: Alright, that's fine. I was just letting you know that it's not another SAO. I've heard great things about SG, but I haven't watched the anime yet since I have the VN (the original source material). But, I took a break on that since the intro is WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY too long for me right now. Think I've spent like 5 hours on the VN but it's still all introduction. Breaking Bad is so damn depressing to me for some reason (also Skylar pisses me off). I'm still only on Season 2, lol.

As for Brynhildr, please do.

@Emiya: Thanks for introducing me to that show. I watched it and enjoyed it. Wish I knew about it sooner.

How has everyone's spring season been? For this season I've decided to stick it out with Selector Infected Wixoss (Which is surprisingly really good, it reminds me a lot of PMMM), Captain Earth, Isshuukan Friends (Totally adorable by the way), Hitsugi no Chaika, and Mekakucity Actors (Although I'm a bit behind on this one so it may or may not be dropped >.>). Also...

Preliminary Summer 2014 chart is out now!

Summer 2014

Definitely watching Zankyou no Terror and Space Dandy S2 (It's certainly the summer of Watanabe haha). The maybe's so far for the season are Dramatical Murder, Shirogane no Ishi Argevollen, Bakumatsu Rock, and Glasslip, I'll probably choose 2 or 3 series out of those since I'll still continue Captain Earth from this past season.

Rumor has it that Free! is having its second season this summer as well, although it hasn't been announced yet so we'll see! uwu

I will attempt to check out the two mecha in that list. Those are pretty much the only two I'd be interested in.

Other than that, I should try watching an episode or two of Space Dandy. Interested to know how good it is. Also still need to look up that anime from last season, the card game one I said I would look into.

@ Jon- Space Dandy is really really good, I highly recommend it. The first episode isn't the greatest, but it gets much better from there. Generally, it is a comedy, but it does hit quite a few deeper topics as well. It also aired in English simultaneously with the anime, I checked out some of the dubbed episodes and they're pretty decent as well. There's jokes that are targeted to be specific for both English and Japanese audiences, which is nice. Also, the music in it is totally awesome (Opening, ending, OST, everything). It was definitely my favorite series this past winter, maybe even including the fall season as well. Then again, only anime I really liked from Fall 2013 was Kyousogiga. I was a fan of the Kyousogiga OVA/ONA's before the anime aired, but even considering that I still think that Space Dandy was better (Or at least, that's my opinion uwu).

Just popping in here to say y'all should watch Brynhildr. *coughstoyumiplscough* Still haven't watched it since I read the manga, but I'm sure they will do a good job.

So much interesting anime I still haven't watched yet... Gawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwd.

@ Temp - I actually checked out the first episode! And well, I'm not watching it currently because I'm at 5 series which (From the first episode) I just found more interesting and/or to my taste than Brynhildr. And 5 series is generally my limit for currently airing anime orz

Although that's not to say that I didn't like it, there were just a lot of really good series that aired this past season. I'll probably check it out again at the end of the season and possibly continue it past the first episode haha.

Also, here's another updated Summer 2014 chart

I took some time to figure out some of the series I'm interested in, so here they are:

Definitely: Space Dandy S2, Zankyou no Terror, Free! Eternal Summer.

Maybe: Glasslip, Aldnoah.Zero, Bakumatu Rock, Shirogane no Ishi Argevollen, Dramatical Murder (Because tumblr is obsessed with it haha), Sailor Moon: Crystal (The only reason why this is in the maybe is that it's airing every other week instead of every week, which means I might forget about watching it if that makes any sense orz)

Aldnoah.Zero and Zankyou no Terror for me. Here's a proper reason. Both are actually an totally original-made anime, and the hype on their PVs are so attracting. On the side note :

Aldnoah.Zero : In case who really noticed, "Urobutcher" Gen and Sawano Hiroyuki for music (which was too obvious when you watch the PV)

Zankyou no Terror : Watanabe Shin`ichirou and Kanno Youko for music. (Ring any bells?) And oh, anyone noticed that Nine looked randomly similar to Tachibana Mayama of Honey and Clover?

Not sure for other ones, but we'll see about it from time to time.

God, I'm so hyped for October. Psychopass, FSN, Log Horizon, and now Grisaia!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

Hopefully they do Grisaia justice. I wonder what route they're gonna do. My money is on Yumiko's, though I would like to see an Amane route done right. Worst case would be them mixing all the routes together and creating a bunch of garbage (*cough*firstFSNanime*cough*).

Here's a chart I've found.

Honestly I'm not overly hyped about the upcoming fall anime season lol. There are a few series I'm really looking forward to (Psycho-Pass S2 and Selector Spread Wixoss (The second season of Selector Infected Wixoss)), and the others just kind of fall somewhere below that haha.

Anyway, here are the series I plan on checking out for the fall anime season:

Definitely: Psycho-Pass S2, Selector Spread Wixoss, Hitsugi no Chaika Avenging Battle (Only putting this one here since I watched the first season of it haha)

Maybe's: World Trigger, Sora no Method, Shingeki no Bahamut Genesis, Akatsuki no Yona.

Along with continuing Sailor Moon Crystal. The magic number of series for me to keep up with is 4, so there's only one slot for me to fill up in the maybe section (Unless I hold off on watching Hitsugi no Chaika as much during the season and just marathon it once the season is over, which is what I did for its first season, I managed to watch half of the episodes during the spring season and marathoned the other half over the summer haha). And from their PV's, all the maybe's look good too so it'll be a tougher decision for me haha. uwu

Also I'm devastated that Space Dandy is ending, I'm going to miss it so much. It was such a fun series and certainly is in my top ten, and managed to weasel it's way into my top five too (Well, it's at the number five slot but my top five is a pretty stiff competition haha). If anyone is looking for a fun and quirky series to check out, and one that can get pretty deep at times too, I highly highly highly recommend Space Dandy! uwu
