When my friend first introduced me to this series, I was afraid it was going to be a Love Hina clone, but it had such a fun vibe all of its own. I'm ordinarily not into "harem" shows, but L-H and AI-AO are the two standing exceptions because they're both sweet and funny, and just a little sad, all at the same time. That, and I'm just a sucker for the old Childhood Promise/Memory thing. |

I agree with most of you, I like Ai Yori Aoshi a lot as well, it shows what a true romantic anime should be like. But I prefer Onegai Teacher since it has more of a serious theme to it and less slapstick. But nevertheless, I like both. Too bad I haven't found any anime that is as good as these 2. Anyone have any suggestions of similar animes? |

This is a good childhood-promise-love story-romantic-anime. And I don't see any reasons to dislike it. Well, it's good, both the manga and the anime was good. The story is good, kawai music, some art, chara development and beautiful animation. One of the best anime i ever had.

Hmm, how easy do life can be in tokyo, you think? Imagine, Kaoru, a boy from a rich family in the village. he runs away without having any money or anything you should have to survive. And in that condition, where does he run off to? Tokyo! One of the most though and expensive place in the world. Now he should be helpless right? But nooo, he managed to live there for several years and he managed to pay for the college fees just from part time jobs! Then after he met up with aoi, he even gets a free lodging and food... And lots of girls around him... Damn that lucky guy >.< So the message of the story? "If you want a peaceful, relaxing place to run away from your daily stressful life, come to tokyo! You don't need to bring money!" Alright, enough with the unrealistic parts. So, judging from the romance part of this anime, i guess the show is okay, although it's kinda typical for a harem genre anime. I prefer the Ai Yori Aoshi ~Enishi~, it shows more facts of life that fun can't last forever and people are moving on with their lives. The part where Tina confessed to Kaoru, returned to America, and left her memories in her room are very touching... But even with all that said, it still has a happy ending... A bit unrealistic, but it's anime after all, so it's cool. ^^ So yeah, i think i can say that i like this anime... @Funsch Ever watched Shuffle? |

In my sister's words very...mushy? Yes, I think its a cute story. Very sweet, but why does Aoi have to cry almost ALL the time. Not that I'm trying to flame her. I think Aoi is a sweet character and that she and Kaoru make a cute couple, but pleaseeee stop crying... But overall I think it's ok. Kaoru had a pretty harsh life and with those scars on his back to mark that part of his past, I just can't help but wanna hug the poor guy ^^ Aoi's dedication to him is beyond imagination...to me that is, but then again stuff like that just don't really happen in real life. But, yeah truthfully despite all the crying Aoi does I really like the anime. Call me sentimental if you want, but its one of my favourites right now ^^ |

It was the first anime I actually watched after I was introduced to what anime was. To this day, it's still one of my favorites... Enishi wasn't as good though, I was disappointed by how they prioritized fanservice over plot. All in all, there wasn't a lot of development. Manga #14 just came out though, and I'm happy reading on with things there... hopefully that'll just keep right on going. |
