Hello! The concept pic of the day is of the first in the EVA series: UNIT 00! Enjoy! BTW, TIE Defender2nd is right, WETA is a pro at CG (they made the KIng Kong movie), so the EVAs will be totally CG. |

well, I guess it all winds down to who the actual director listens to more: Anno or the public. I've had more time to think about it, and I figure basically any eva is better than none, as far as I'm concerned. If nothing else, we'll get some eye candy. But I really doubt the story will be worth much. And we won't get any of Anno's super directing skillz! >_< He's like my favorite director.. TT That's my $0.02. Plus change. Thank you, Seculi, for at least SOME optimism! Any EVA is better than none. There are sooooooo many EVA fans who were either confused, unsatisfied, or pleased with the ending(s) that any type of continuation would be much appreciated. The following is an excerpt from a recent(12/08/05) IGN article on the movie: "Richard Taylor, famous for the work he and Weta Workshop did on The Lord of the Rings, would like to have a stab at co-producing the film. He's a big fan of the Japanese series, and seems to understand the enormous challenges involved than a typical Hollywood suit might. "I've just been to Japan pursuing this," Taylor told Sci Fi Wire during a King Kong-related interview. "I think that is the great untold story to the world. It is sublime. It is arguably some of the most beautiful and poignant animation ever created, and a huge percentage of the pop culture world now know it, but only through a live-action feature film will it transcend that and receive the recognition for the art piece that it is. "Now, actually achieving it as a live-action feature film is extremely difficult to imagine. Technologically, sure, it's doable. But at an esoteric, universe level, it is an unbelievably impacting and dramatic story concept. [It's got] pseudo-religious overtones, and all these wonderful motifs are woven into it. It's something that you can generate over 26 hours of animation, but trying to encapsulate that down into a feature film would be a massive challenge. But … with the right director, I think it could be a very beautiful movie. …And that's my big pursuit at the moment. I've put an awful lot of energy into it."" |

I was one of the confused ones, dissatisfied... NOT PLEASED! XD Ah well, good thing (to say the least) that good people (reputable ones!!!) will be working on it, or if not, it would be less than mediocre... and I might curse and curse and curse and so on. hahaha. >=D Heck wait, you only mentioned one... Richard Taylor. ~Breathes~ I adored LoTR, so I guess I'll be delaying that conclusion... Ack.. nuuuu!!! Alright, I'm being a hypocrite... >.< I want to hear more! LOL. But I have to go now again, so keep on posting, ROQ-san! |

^^; sorry, I need to apologize.. I've thought it over a bit more ^^;;; I'm naturally a mean person, but I try to be nice a bit... I'm sorry that I popped everyone's balloon on the whole thing, especially roqstar and rukia. gomen... p.s. I'm pretty sure that I've "gotten" at least most of the series, after watching and rewatching and studying tons of things that I'm sure Hideaki Anno used as sources, and I'd be glad to share what I've learned if anyone's interested. Apology accepted Seculi Terminus (Love the name BTW), I was never mad at you. Please share anything you want to share, if it helps us understand EVA and the concept of this movie anymore! Thank you! BTW, I forgot to post ALL of the EVA Unit 00 images, there are quite a few, so here are two more! Enjoy! BTW, Misato is now Susan Whitall, not Whitfield, sorry for the typo! |

In the name of all thats holy why are they doing this!? Anime dosn't translate well into live action...look at most cos-players at conventions..sure theres a few good ones, but most of it is crap. Anyway, I'm just now getting into the series (thank you Cartoon Network, because buying the series on DVD costs too much). I think they should wait until after the Transformers movie comes out and see what happens...cause I'm really sure that movie will be crap too. Sorry for the negitivity =X Marse Hughes |

I will definitely go see the movie when it comes out. Somehow, though, I get the feeling that a lot of fans will be disappointed by it, because there's really no pleasing anime fans lol ^.^ |

Darn right, us anime fans know what we like, and if it sucks, than we rant and rave about it! All hail anime fans! Anyway arn't the producers alienating the fans of the anime by changeing names and looks and such? I know anime can't be pulled of in an live action very well (look at Cloud's hair in Advent Children....give him a hedgetrimmer for that!). Ok rant is done! Marse Hughes |

I've been thinking...why not make the whole movie with computer animation? Like the opening for Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, or Final Fantasy: Spirits Within (which was a sucky movie but the detail to the animation was incredible.) Marse Hughes |

You have a great point...imagine Evangelion with the visuals of FF7: advent Children. This would allow the producers to be more faithful to the original anime sources. The problem is that 1. it takes an insane amount of time to make those kinds of films and 2. the movie would not really be live-action, it would just be CG-animated. If they were to do this, it would be easier just to make another animated Evangelion film. |

I fear the end is near... and that the hordes of Eva fans are gonna get angry... and i forsee that its going to suffer the same fate as did the Live action version of Fist of the North Star... Kneel Before the Great and Benevolent Cow! |
