western hair? i always "play" wif my friends' hair lol..well..i find that they hav hair which is so much more easier to manage or style!! my just goes straight whenever i try to curl it darn.. in short, my hair's just plain black + rather long at the moment..straight most of the time..kinda smooth, and a bit wavy but more on the straight side lol thinking of getting a wispy sorta fringe..BUT havent had an eyebrow length fringe for ages..so im seriously not too sure whether i should *thump* what if it goes so very wrong?! O.o--right now, i hav a layered side fringe which keeps getting in my way *annoyed* ^^ @AznRomeo: u can try some french-style buns..i luv those but i really cant be bothered doing that evry day lol..i can't see how my frenz can style their hair every single morning b4 going to school.. OR..style the sides with curling tongs --ask ur hairdresser to recommend what ones to get OR if u want it even straighter than it is..get straigteners^^it gives a whole new look lol  |

That's not true unless someone else made 'anime' besides the Japanese, and that's impossible. the thing is, there IS such thing as the korean and thai anime... i just don't remember what they are called. but whatever. it was still walking talking bum-strutting hand-drawing human beings who created anime, and obviously it is based on real life people, only drenched up with some of the creative juices from the artists. ERGO, the hairstyles on anime CAN be copied, all thanks to the invention of hair gel, hair spray, wax, et cetera. asian hair tend to have the capacity to quickly absorb and retain moisture content as a result of living in very warm and exotic climates. it is WRONG to believe that asian hair is more resistant to styling or whatsoever because it is thinner or straighter than western hair. let's just say that with the combination of wild imagination, small eyes, some gel, small face outline, and really absorbent hair strands, is what makes the asian hair styles a lot different from the western styles. believe it or not, asians used the western hairdo's back in the days. NO KIDDING. i will you show you a picture of it if i have to. but you will be APPALLED when you see that... it totally didn't suit the asians... add to that the over-padded blouses for women, and pencil cut skirts. O_O doesnt anyone know sites where you can look at actors or bands.etc's hairstyles? or just a place for jap mags with pics of stars? there are no sites to give you the hairstyles of bands... all you gotta do is google them up. seriously. my hair now is of my own imagination, then i decided to google up a few images of japanese male singers. next thing i knew, the hair i wanted was already previously owned by Miyavi. ergo, i just took ALL THE PICS I CAN FIND and drew my idea of what i wanted. but for other styles, google it up as well. that's the best thing to do. -michiyo-

i love putting my hair into buns on each side like miaka on fushigi yuugi! The thing about Japanese hairstyles is that, they are wacky, they make them there own inventions! (i should know im and american living in japan at this very moment)

| I've watched gokusen 1 n 2! Such a nice n touchin drama. Guess there's no teachers in real life hu does so much for their students. Hmm. I'm an asian too. I've black hair which i dislike. I like my smooth n straight hair thou. I tot it was cool to be a western as the hair colour is gold or brown. Its nice. N those beautiful blue eyes!! Haha. |

especially for Japanese, they uses a very wide range in styling..*im one of them^^* Spike to Straight and some wax effects!^^

I love my hair... XD And I do some experimentation when I go out... XD I got very short dark brown hair with the long bangs... I like making spikes out of the short ones and hiding both of my eyes with my bangs... I'm planning on getting highlights... any ideas? --------------- to those who have seen my picture, yeah.. you've seen mah hair...

I'm asian so i don't have to worry too much about having relatively striaght hair, even do if u get japanese style straightening ur hair would really pretty. The key to having jap / anime style kind of hair is to cut your hair in layers the way you need it to be in to have a certain style. My hair is layered very very very well, but I don't go crazy wit my hair, keeping it at medium length is more practical today than having cool long hair thats randomly spiky in an artistic form.

most asians like us have black straight silky hair, or mid curly hair, man i cant imagine in anime families that have different color of hairs when their parent has none of that color. pretty weird.

Sup everyone! new the forums :) I guess it depends on which asians.. i'm vietnamese and alotta vietnamese guys do have the straight hair.. and I read that one person said his hair puffs upp.. mine does the same because my hair grows OUT but about the asians having thin hair? Most asian dudes i know(mainly viet and chinese) have hard hair.. My hair is still fairly easy to mold and such but to get it looking like anime hair is a different thing... Thing is when I use hair products(mainly gel specifically) the spikes end up being too hard, bold and spikey.. it doesen't have that natural soft look that I want.. but lately i've been experiementing with my hair and insted of using hair gel,i try hair wax. I use Paul Mitchel Hair Thinning Serum which is suppose to thin my hair(it doesen't work as well as I expected it but it does help a little, i guess my hair is not long enough yet), then I apply hair wax(molds and forms your hair without making it too spikey and bold) and last I use hairspray to keep it in place. I might try to get my hair thinned though. edit Masamune123, you say that the key to having anime hair is to get it layered? I'm still a big noob at hairstyling(especially since I've been getting the same haircut all my life lol im just letting it grow this time) But how would you ask them to get it layered? I mean I know you can't just walk in and be like "can I get my hair layred?" Is there a name or number that you ask them how to get it layered? Hope that made sense... just so early in the morning and I can't word my shit right. |

Layers in your hair maybe? I definately have asian hair for one thing, and I know that it's thick... The only reason asians get away with good hair styles is because their hair is layered, Then they apply the hair gel, the hair spray, hair wax etc, etc... It's hard work

I noticed that many Asian popstars have weird hairstyles (especially men), they color their hair so that the beautiful black hair white people usually envy changes to an unnatural blonde...I don't like that, I mean, I think that black hair is cool. |

Black hair is still cool, I have dark brown hair that looks like black in shades... Current style(in the making): +Long layered bangs +Hair on the next portion is tied w/ a (string) +Hair on top will stay moderate long, layered and most of teh time, spiked... +Sideburns will be layered with teh bangs +Highlights/color= streaks of orange and dark orange... It's like a soft core visual kei... (is there such???) I mean, it's only teh hair, the clothes will still be teh not-so-casual j-style... XPP

| I think what differentiates us asians from the western is that we have thinner hair and they are easy to manage too... Like mine, I can style it to whatever I want.. but I never tried coloring my hair though.. |
