-I UTTERLY DESPISE IT when there are like 935732057320 random battles at once. ARRRGH. It gets so monotonous. And it's ALWAYS THE SAME GROUP OF MONSTERS. -I also hate it when you don't level up enough because it's your first time playing the game and you didn't know you had to, and there's a really HARD boss that you have to defeat in order to get to the next part of the game. (This happened to me in FFX when you had to fight Seymour Flux-- an annoying battle anyway, but it was especially irritating for me considering I didn't have some of the skills that were needed to defeat him...Bio, in particular. I never used Lulu, who was closest to getting it.) -Another annoying thing is playing the game through, and having an ending that leaves you with a cliffhanger. And then you have to wait for the sequel. -Then, you finally get the sequel, and it sucks. -I hate bad dubbing. The line is spoken, but the mouths still move. Can someone say FFX? :D -I also hate random spelling, context, and/or punctuation mistakes. FF7 was full of them ("This guy are sick!") and so was Legend of Dragoon (last I checked, when you pluralize a word by putting 's' at the end, for example, "flowers", YOU DO NOT NEED AN APOSTROPHE. IT'S "FLOWERS", NOT "FLOWER'S". DAMN IT.) Everything else I hate was pretty much said by Lucian already. XD;; |

Hmm games I hate are: -bad plot(I mean VERY BAD plot like Guardian Crusade) -bad gameplay (i prefer classic turn-based) -short games (such as the OLD pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow) -sports games (meh jus go out there and play it yourself) -racing games (i believe a car is good as long as it can transport me where i want to go) -bad camera angle -anime/move based games(some of them NOT all mostly the Dragon Ball games... ewww Gundma games are decent though, but some are REALLY great) -card games (yu gi oh, duel masters) - the ending of a game(i feel bored/depressed afterwards because i got nothing to do afterwards) -online games(ONLY with corrupted community or immature 12-15 year olds calling everyone a 'nub' 'n00b' well face it, your a 'newbie' to life) Games I like are: -good and interesting plot (like FFT that was such a great plot) -fighting style (Battle Assault 3, Final Fantasy, Tales of Destiny II, and GS: Never Ending Tomorrow are all my personl fave type of games) - medium-long game I dislike buying $40-50 for a short game that I can beat |

A few things that annoy me are: Horrible VA, bad plot, loooooooooooooooooooong cut scenes, bad camera angles, crappy/confusing controls, when it takes ages to get from point A to point B, etc., etc. |

...You sound just like me, Lucian. *gives Lucian the "Yunalesca Seal Of Approval"* Brutal honesty is the way to go. xD More gaming crap I hate: 1// Like Kira said already, online games with a horrible community full of irritating kids who "talk lyke dis!!!!!!1111eleven" and call people "n00bs". 2// Losing a bossfight, and having to watch the same long dialogue scene OVER AND OVER AGAIN until you finally kill the monster. -_-; 3// Characters that are specifically made to irritate you, and never learn their lesson in the end. 4// Bad plot that drags on and on. 5// Plot with 467430674 confusing subplots. STICK TO ONE, people. 6// Exceptionally bad plot with 467430674 confusing subplots. 7// When you're trying to get to the next area, but you can't find the door. This happened quite a bit in FF7 for me. And then I realized you could put the guide arrows on -_-; |

Alrighty! This could be fun! It's been a whole 5 minutes since i've complained about SOMETHING... I hate it when game compaines create a sequal that's absolute crap. Take FFX-2 for example. They could have done so much with that game, but compared to X, it was a bunch of fan service, bad voice acting and cruddy gameplay. And the story was incredibly unoriginal. If they had actually spent enough time on it X-2 could have been amazing. But those idiots blew it. Games based off of movies or TV shows. Need I say anymore? Games that have a great story, characters, and everything else great about it except for the goddamned battle system. If the battle system sucks, why bother playing? Gaming companies who focus to much on graphics and slack off on the story. Sure... pretty graphics are great and all but if there isnt a story why would anyone bother to play it? I'm actually quite content with sprite graphics as long as the game is semi-enjoyable. I hate how gaming companies try to copy a great game, and usually end up killing it. Take Halo for example. After that game came out, everyone was jumping on the FPS bandwagon and ended up creating a bazillion worthless games. Let's see. I hate games with really long cutscenes... Like Xenosaga. I suck at that game. I die way to much for my own good. So I get through an insanely long cutscene ((try 45 minutes... I counted)) and then I die. and I have to watch it over again. ((actually you can skip them in MOST games. But i'm very dumb and didnt know I could do that for awhile... so I went through hell)) I hate when a game throws a totally random, out of genre mini game or side quest at yah. Like in FF7 when you had to do that annoying snowboarding thing, and the motorcycling thing. Mini games are good though. Just when they're executed properly. I hate games that do crap when you have to protect a character, and keep them alive. Like in Silent Hill 2. I hate Maria. She's totally useless and good for nothing. I've actually willingly gotten game overs because I shot her in the head out of annoyment. And trying to get through a hallway filled with nurse demons when you're armed with nothing but a stick is slow and painful torture. I hate games that don't give out enough save spots. So if you die you have to go through all of your hard work over again. It sucks. Games that introduce waaaay to many characters, plot points etc at once. And then when you advance in the game you have no clue whats going on since you didnt catch anything the first time around. Games with poor character development. I like a game that, by the end of it, has you attached to the characters, and has you sharing their pain, feelings, etc. It's just so much better to be able to relate to characters. Games with awful voice acting. It's almost enough to make me shut off the damned game and throw it out the window. ((eg. Lance Bass as Sephiroth in Kingdom Hearts. WTF were they thinking????)) Games that start off with an amazing storyline, and then blow it at the ending, leaving you either confused, disapointed, or just plain angry. Games that get a ton of hype and end up being complete garbage. If you can put that much time into advertising, why couldn't you have the decency to make the game moderately playable? I mean seriously? I totally hate online games with obnoxious hackers, and obnoxious people in general who go around flaming people, and call people "n00bs" just because they're new at the game. Everyone's a so called "n00b" at one point so they should do the kind thing and help 'em out. I also hate when said obnoxious people run around going "OMG I'm SOOOOO awesome. I could own all of you." etc. etc. I hate how in RPG's, one small mistake near the begining can totally kill your game right at the end. Take FF8 for example. I go through the majority of the game without a strategy guide, since I dont believe in using them. Then I get to disc 4, and have to start my game over, since I made it through most of them relying on GF's, and beating Adel is impossible without just normal attacking. And you can't leave Lunatic Pandora to go and train. I wasted 80+ hours of my life. Games with insanely repetitive gameplay. Again with the need I say anymore. Bad camera angles. There should seriously be a law that states "Every game MUST have a camera that can be rotated however the hell you want it so you can actually... dare I say it... SEE what you're doing." Annoying Characters. Why must the gaming industry continue to plague us with them? If they're going to create an annoying character, the very least they can do is allow us to kill of the character. But like THAT'S ever gonna happen. Blatant product advertising in games. *cough cough ANIMAL CROSSING cough cough* "Xian, do you own a Nintendo Game Boy Advance", "If you own a Nintendo Gameboy Advance and Nintendo Gamecube GBA Adaptor Cable you can connect and go to the Island" Game's that try to promote the use of inane products like the Eye Toy. Take DDR Extreme for example. They include a bunch of dumb mini-games that you can play ONLY if you waste $40 on some stupid little accessory. No one really cares. I hate games with non-skipable tutorials. Especially if you're on New game+ or if you're just playing through the game a second time. Games that are too short. It's such a let down when you can breeze through a game at an insanely fast rate. Games that are too long. If a game's too long, where's the motivation to finish it? If it's too long I usually stop playing and never get around to finishing it. Well... that's all I can really think of right now... My minds dead from lack of sleep at the moment... and I have to go to school tomorrow so yeah. Lovely... I'll post more crap later. I forgot something! XDDD and the "edit" button's so very far away. So i'll just add it here. I absolutely HATE IT when you have to fight the same person/ monster / boss mulitple times. Like in FFX. How many bloody -edit- times do I have to kill Seymour before he'll go away and never come back again? And in FFVIII. We got to deal with Edea and Sefier on multiple occasions... I remember on particular battle with Sefier when my beloved Odin came out... and I was all like "HELL YES! I'd love to see yah come back and try to kill me again after THIS bitch!" Then 3 seconds later my hopes and dreams were crushed. My precious Odin gone. And I got stuck with Gilgamesh. Please shoot me now. O yeah! I also hate how in older games, or games with bad graphics in general, how you can't see what the hell you're doing. Take FFVII for example. I recall some *cough cough* certain part in the game when some certain ninja, ((who's name won't be mentioned)) stole my bloody -edit- materia and I got to run around Wutai trying to find this un mentioned character. And since the graphics were so blocky and repulsive it took me 3 days to figure out she was hididng behind the screen in some random house... Then it took another day to find the above unmentioned character in a pot. I started to despise life after this... This also goes for grabbing the key and materia outta the safe in order to get Vincent. I did not see the key in the safe. The graphics sucked to much. I got intoa a kazillion random battles on may way down to the room, just to find out I didn't have the key. I'm going to remention the "Not being able to skip cutscenes" thing because it is very important. A certain scene in the Macalania Woods in FFX left me scarred for life. and I accidently forgot to save and died... and had to watch it... Again... I cried for weeks. Oh! I also hate games with really cruddy clunky controls. *cough cough* Silent Hill 2. It takes forever to get used to them and even then you STILL can't manauver for shit. I'll shut up now. No way to make a living; Masochism; Pain; Perfection; Muscle Spasms; Chiropractors; Short Carrers Eating Disorders! |

I have many things I hate. 1. Cheap moves/combos. If Heihachi does that again, I'm gonna have to use my 10 hit combo. 2. Horrible graphics. I'm talking about you Tomb Raider! 3. Really stupid storylines. 4. Games with no replay value. *Yugioh: The Sacred Cards* 5. Games that make you ask why? Dragonball Z: Taiketsu |

"2// Losing a bossfight, and having to watch the same long dialogue scene OVER AND OVER AGAIN until you finally kill the monster. -_-;" Tell me about it... Also, when you can't run away easily from monsters. Especially if you can fail to do so and waste a turn. I've been killed so much in certain games *glares at Lunar 2* because of that... Also crazy encounter rates, especially on the overworld. Makes it damn near impossible to get where I'm trying to go (Skies of Arcadia, I'm looking at you...) |

Re: What do you HATE most when it comes to games?

Um, let's say something new... I hate when people mistake challenging games with unecessarily frustrating and complicated games. Well designed dungeons and/or mazes filled with puzzles and riddles are a blessing to the rational mind, but only when the solution is something that actually makes sense. Absolutely NO ONE likes being stuck for hours (or days)in a particular chamber of a dungeon trying to break into the insanely intricate and obscure pattern that induced the game creators to make such a stupid and pointless puzzle, while bumping into the infamous invisible walls... (thank goodness these damn walls are extinct. º_º; I really brought that back from the past... -_-;) I also find really annoying when the programmers turn the controller into an extremely complicated device that makes you think it has around three times the buttons than it actually has. On my humble opinion, the Zelda gameplay system is PERFECT. It's simple, practical and functional. Setting three items to three different and distinct buttons works marvelously well. Scrolling through the menus is quick and easy, the items are finely displayed and their functions are clear. One or two multi-action action button also speed things up... I DREAD fishing/golfing games. It's already boring enough in the real life... why spending money with this kind of virtual crap? Laaaaaaame. I loathe the stupid swordsmen/hunters/knights wearing Mr. Smiles and Eggshells begging for help, items, money and healing on Ragnarok Online. They must think the whole world owes them BIG... because if you don't act exactly as they demand, they start swearing and cursing at your whole lineage... I think that's basically it. Evertyhing else has already been said. =) Oh, and something I REALLY wish to live to see it happening... a multiplayer version of Resident Evil. It's so simple... killing zombies in a team looks like so much fun... T_T maybe a battle or contra-operative mode, also... bleah, I LOVE multiplayer games. XD Sorry if this sounds stupid. 'Nuff said. @_@"

when they have incredably weak monsters and then the boss is like 100 times stronger than you are since low leveling on weak monsters. and in fighting games where the compers just do the same snnoying thing over and over again.

Well, sports games for one. They have taken over America. All the guys that I know that play video games play crappy sports games, and call it the best thing in the world. -_-; Graphics, to me, isn't the most important thing in the world because nowadays, that's all video game companies are focusing on. I could play Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and never get bored. If I ever bought a game that had horrible gameplay and a horrible story to match, I would die. Horrific, bloodcurdling dubbing. If I didn't have hair to cover my ears, I'd have gone deaf by now. Most video games based off of anime suck with the exception of a selected few. CRAPPY, CRAPPY CAMERA ANGLES. I'm a dreadful aimer, so bad camera angle is the worst. Or if the camera angle is that bad, I'll accidently keep running into a wall, and not know.XD Umm.. online games. I'm talking to you Runescape; you have robbed my sister's life. Online people are also just plain annoying. When a game freezes, has too many glitches, and has horribly long loading screens. Games that are repeated just so they can satisfy the public. Speaking of which, sickingly disappointing sequels(Obviously I'm speaking of FFX-2). When I get so far into a boss battle, and then I die. >_>; I have actually cried because of the amount of times I have to fight a boss before killing it, and when I do, it's only when my brother decides to help me. In fact, I just hate fighting bosses with too many forms. Let's not forget the dreadfully long events before boss battles that you have to sit through a billion times if you die. Also, when a game doesn't have enough save points, so it takes me even longer to finish the game because I always die. When I can never figure out what all the buttons do for a game because they create so many different functions for each button, and if I did know all the buttons, I'd be 20x more better at shooting games than I am now. Oh yeah, and games that are so short that they bore me and they eventually collect dust in the corner, and also games that are so long that I give up on them, and I don't touch them for 5 months until I get so bored, I have no choice.

Heh, where to begin...? Insanely gory games. You know, those games where you hit someone and a flood comes out, especially when there's a 24 hit combo. Now, some blood I don't mind. In Halo/Halo 2, that amount of blood is fine. Mortal Kombat, or almost any 1v1 fighting thing... That's too much. Camera angles. I want to see a game where you can control every aspect of the camera, zooming in so close that you can see the little lines in their eyes, go all the way to the ground and look straight up, go all the way around, zoom out, go above your character and look down, etc, etc. Full control of your camera, very few limits. Dumb storylines... Save the princess. Congraturations, you won. I really like stories where it's confusing, but not mind boggling, and full of plot twists (Tales of Symphonia!). I like... Games with 3 or 4 endings, which you can control as well. ...Immodestly clad women... Goes well with camera angles ^_^ Everything Lucian said. Or, almost everything he said. Nicely laid out controls, which you can modify to your liking. ...Can't think of anymore off-hand. |

There is one bad thing in every genre RPG : Somewhat unending dungeon and maze, where your inventory is near zero Fighting : cheap AI and button reading, it can react at what you pressed Flight (Dogfight) : All enemies targeted on you, and they launched 10 missiles simultaenously Adventure : Stuck camera. After the camera got into right position, you'll see your char died / lose |

When it seems like forever since the last save spot, especially when there's an in-game movie. I tend to get anxie, wondering what'll happen if it crashes or if I have to leave. When you can't backtrack to an area for an item. Once you've passed it, it's gone forever. At least until you start a new game. |
