Hmmm, just watched EP 22...Perfect ending I would say. That is a big sacrifice Ushio did in the EP. I'm pretty shocked that the robot itself is Tomoya? I don't expect this. Anyway, for me Clannad is the best harem for me. It should be at the top 5 best anime of the year, don't you guys agree? @Izumo, Yup, I agree with you. Somehow, it is just too sudden. Suddenly, Fuuko is healthy...There is not much scenes on the other characters. I really want to see what Tomoyo becomes when she is older. On the surface, the characters now are somehow matured, except one...Sunohara, he still has his own...you know. And there is Mei Ling. Wow, she becomes a very beatiful girl. What I like the most in this EP is Nagisa's new hairstyle. It suits her the best. She looks matured. But to be frank, I did not cry seeing this EP...The scene where I cried the most is when Ushion and Tomoya hugged together at the field and Ushio is crying. I really touched on that scene. @Raizo, Hello there buddy. Long time no see. Lol, Mei is...*Nosebleed!!! Hmmmm, I don't know whether I should ask some question...Well, just asked anyway... 1) I still don't understand what is the connection between the robot and also Ushio in that world, can someone tell his or her opinion? 2) Is Nagisa knew about her death when the "time is reversed"? I hope you guys get my point. 3) Will a Clannad OVA made after this? 4) This might be unpleasant, or a spoiler...Will Key Visual Art do another harem series after this? I know Clannad is after Kanon, just wondered anyway... I think that is all. Thank you.    |

Clannad is not exactly harem, even though Tomoya surrounded by many girls, only Nagisa romantically involved with him(well actually kyou and ryou as well) but the main theme of the story is more to the importance of family rather than lover. i agree with you there, Clannad is one of the best anime I've seen so far, par with Ef series and Byousoku 5 cm. i'll answer your first and second question later after re watched it again. I really hope they make an ova for Clannad preferably Kyou's ending and i also wish they will make anime series of Little Buster. btw is it just me or the girl in illusionary world resemble Setsumi,the girl in narcissu a lot?

Loved episode 22, though it left be a bit confused, but in a good way because of the ending, which matters the most. The scene with the girl and the robot was pretty special to me. The destruction from the light on the robot, this little detail was cool to me (reminds me of Spider Man 3 for some reason, with the sand guy), but it was sad when the girl said "sayonara, papa", then that soft piano music played in the background. I guess when Tomoya "snapped back into reality", the anime changed perspectives a bit. Nagisa lived, Ushio was born successfully and lived to be who we saw and got to know in the past few episodes, everyone's happy. From what I got from the anime, it makes sense, but having not played the game itself, I won't know officially. We now know what the orbs mean, and I'm glad they showed that in this episode, and at the perfect time, and order, too. A special part was when they went on that trip together after Ushio grew up (five years later), but this time we don't need to see tears or sadness or hear stories about Nagisa, because she's sitting right next to you, Ushio. T_T The part after where Ushio runs around int he flower field was a special feeling moment to me as well. I like how Kyoto Animation adds these little details, though during that slide show of characters and later when we meet his grandma, we don't see his dad for a last time. It was weird how Fuuko and her sister had the last dialog scene together. I wonder why, but no complains. Fuuko trying to be adult? Impossible. Trying to be ecchi? Impossible. Too much cuteness to switch. Overall, the episode was so significant, so flawless (as an episode), but I agree with Izumo, it does seem a bit rushed. I wanted to see others more involved a bit, even if things related to the Okazaki family more, but overall, I'm glad that nobody friggin' died... jesus, so sad. I nearly shed tears after seeing Nagisa again. This is what I call a "Miracle Ending". Nagisa is definitely an angel. :D [@Raizo] I'm glad they inserted that song, too. It's a wonderful song, gotta love everything about it. To reply to your open ended question, before this episode, I would say Kyou (since Nagisa overall is my favorite girl). After this episode, and the season unofficially over, I might say Nagisa again. Her look was different, and she looked more like a Japanese mom, but she looked gorgeous and just typical Nagisa, but older. I also thought seeing Ushio grow up rather than seeing her born, Tomoya depressed for five years, then a surprise Ushio running around, then meeting her is better. I felt that Tomoyo was screwed cause I don't think we ever saw her once after Tomoya and the gang graduated, right? You mentioned Mei, was she in this episode (during that slide show of how everyone was doing)? Kotomi riding in her car reminds me of Driver's High (this video I saw of a similar thing, the music was Driver's High from Laruku). I forget her name, but the girl with the red eyes is really, really cute/hot. Her in her work costume was surely a site to see, and her friend is pretty, too. Glad to see Yukine's still doing perfectly fine and Misae is fine, too. Is Sunohara trying to become a taxi driver or get his license? XD [@ES] Going to attempt to answer your questions to be best of my ability: 1. At the end of 21, Ushio and Tomoya both fall into the snow together. As we see in the beginning of episode 22, we see something similar, where the girl and robot are both fallen in the snow (well, the robot is standing). I think, from what they were talking about if you followed along, are spiritual representations of Ushio and Tomoya in another world. Cause the girl said the dango song was what the robot sang to her a lot and she called it, "papa". 2. Knew about her death? Do you mean if Nagisa knew she wasn't going to live that long? I know she knew about her sickness, but I don't think she could predict when she would pass away. In this episode, that "sickness" of hers, the fact she's always been unhealthy was suddenly "gone" from history, and everyone's memory of it, just covered and over layed it. 3. Can't really tell. Apparently the season is over, and the next episode (or two) are just extra episodes (like we saw in the first season). Pointing back to Raizo's response, I hope they do do a Kyou ending! I always thought of a Sanae-san (in Nagisa's place) and Tomoya scenario. She wouldn't object anyways. XD! 4. Not sure about a harem, but Clannad After Story isn't really a harem at all. Sure, the first episodes were the same as the last season, but it's too basic of harem since romance is not the centerfold of Tomoya and the relationship of all the girls (Kyou, Ryou, Kotomi, Tomoyo, Nagisa, etc.). There's an anime called "K-ON" that might possibly be the next KyoAni anime, so who knows. Usually a visual novel would be made for another harem, so we'll see. No news of another harem being relased yet, at least under Kyoto Animation. But I friggin' hope that Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu Second gets release soon, wtf! Kyou to me seems like some super human from some action/adventure storyline who fougt a long hard war, and after it ended, she just came into her home town and relaxed. Her upgraded, leveled up Botan helps. XD My last thought on the anime though, I hope people who haven't seen Clannad/After Story, who haven't given it a shot, will surely rethink after hearing opinions. I remember people HATED Clannad, or harems entirely becasue they simply hate harem genre, or just this type of anime. Clannad After Story has to be one of the greatest produced anime ever. From beginning to end, and includes anything you ever want without over doing it. Leaving out action/adventure, it has comedy, school/drama, love/romance, sci-fi (sort of, lol), a lot! Nobody was better for the job than Kyoto Animation, mainly because of HQ graphix and some of the best artwork/animation you'll find. I know a few other studios that could've taken it to a different level, but we'll never know. There are no covers for anime, just music. XD

ahh... So we get this kind of ending... Glad i can hold myself not to see any spoilers around before i got to watch it. From worst case scenario to best possible scenario. I feel like i experienced this in Kanon but this one's different. Well, i got used to Key style writing so i can accept such endings. Happy is good anyway. I don't get some parts but still, it's a series that ends well. Why would they show that scene with Fuuko and ushio in the end like that i wonder? The young generation that would accept happiness from the city? The scene we see in the opening of the first season, ushio running through the field is finally shown now. I like when this happens in stories, hinting a scene from the far end in the start and BANG mind all blown when it's finally shown. Like that ushio skipping scene in the ending. I never thought i'd see that inserted in an episode way near the end of the show. and yay, chiisana te no hira, that is a must considering the title of the episode. I must say i feel warm looking at the scenes with the song playing in the background... So to conclude all of clannad: Good people being good to each other and achieve the blessing of happiness. Even magically for some. Although i say things are quite unfair for tomoya's dad... Sure he rests, but things doesn't seem to be getting better for him. ok, just two more extra episodes and clannad anime is complete in my collection. Glad to have another gold in my hands. |

Where is Mei in episode 22? I must've missed this, or I actually saw her but don't think it's her. I have a guess, but it can't be Mei-chan (grown up of course). As I mentioned in my (now that I see it), extremely long post. Maybe it's because the font size is larger. But yeah, I said Nagisa does look more mature, grown up, etc. That's a good screen shot there, Shige. She resembles a very special women a lot. Gorgeous, just like Sanae-san. T_T

Was it actually mentioned or revealed in the anime that the middle cutie was Mei? I do see a large resemblance though, but I thought those three were just a group of moms at Ushio's school.

@DA What. XD @Sai Yes Tomoya died of grief. As WTF it might sound I think its pretty valid(more sad than valid though ._.) since at that time Tomoya has suffered two losses, and he would be in poor health since the refrigerator is pretty empty, as well as his looks.  |

Hey, new to the thread and the entire forums. This is my first post, so go easy on meh. ES invited meh here Clannad is most basically the best anime that would fall into the romance category. It has its own tiwsts, sometimes even making some events to make the series more enjoyable. Like Akio playing baseball wih Tomoya and others liek that. Its like when since Nagisa was giving birth, its like Tomoya fell into a deep dream. A dream of a tragic fate of the family. But when the final episode comes, it all comes back to Nagisa giving birth and she doesnt die. Honestly, who would think of that I wish they would continue the Clannad series

Yeah, when I first saw the episode, and saw her, I thought it was Mei, but I never saw or heard anyone calling her "Mei", even when Tomoya first met her, though I don't remember if he did or not. Even so, she didn't even get any airing time, so that's why I thought she was just a regular character in the series. Still, nobody has answered the question I asked. ^_^;

@ DAngel-san Well the episode didn't really reveal that the girl in the middle is Mei but that whole sequence was basically showing all the characters that you've met throughout the series. Like i said in my last post about the episode being too compressed & feeling shorter than what was shown in the game. Also it being a 'music montage' & you don't hear anyone saying anything it may have been difficult to know who was who if you aren't familiar with the cast. Mei wasn't a prominent character in the series but was most significant during the Sunohara route, which was early on in the 'After Story'. She was briefly shown in the first series. Remember she mistook Tomoya for her brother & brought a funny statue for Sunohara thinking he wanted one. As a side character she made a pretty good impact in the brief appearances she was in. @ dd08-san Welcome to the club. Those were good times. Yeah, I do feel it was compressed. You can't end everything without hearing from everyone, all grown up, one last time. I don't think Tomoya ever saw Tomoyo again, or in the last few episodes of Clannad. D: I'm curious to see the extra episodes, well, the one next week (if there is one). Tomoyo got a special episode last season, I know Kyou/Ryou/Kotomi/etc. fans are annoyed and demand their own girl episode, though I'm glad my girl had that perfect ending, and made it a "happy" ending the least.

@DA-san: Kotomi doesn't really need an ending of her own, Her arc pretty much covered in the series already. I want to see the Kyou's ending but that would kinda wreck Tomoya's image imho, Kappei/Ryou ending might be more interesting to watch. @dd080-san: welcome to the club m8! lets have a Poll! best moment? -When Tomoya masters Fuuko. -When Fuuko disppears and suddenly appeared again between tomoya and nagisa. -When sanae and akio declared that they're all for nagisa's dream (that stage play). -When Tomoyo decides to follow tomoya with her everything. -When tomoya and sunohara laughed looking at each other's wounded faces -Akio bringing the sick nagisa to the open field, begging for her life -When ushio is finally able to cry in papa's chest -second birth of ushio + chiisana te no hira playing .....Yeah, a lot |

i know there lots memorable scenes in Clannad, that's why it's kinda hard to decide which one is the best xD heck you most definitely can't have this much of memorable scenes in other animes.

hello people.... Well have the VN i havent finish it... becasue i nearly cried at Misae's Route then the songs of CLANNAD nearly make me cry... VN's ending song is Kage Futatsu.... I cried... in anime i dont have any courage to watch the AS becasue I cried in the 1st season... three times of four the i cried on the Sanae and Akio startign to forget about Fuuko then ending of Fuuko's plot of the anime Kotomi's ending fo the anime plus the songs used to it Ana and Kage Futatsu moment? -Kotomi's ending -Sunohara was beaten by Tomoyo many times Each girl's ending? I dont like that.... becasue the reason is on the VN.... the Vn answered it...  --> |
