Bah, I even write some hiragana/katakana in a wrong way... and that carries on to writing kanji...

Thank you for the link, Cassie! Very useful for preparing for Japanese Proficiency Test (although I'm not planning to take it in a close time...)

Soshite, Katt-san, watashi mo onna no ko. (And, Katt, I'm also a girl)
(You confused it in a reply in the WoT section... that's to be expected though)

Youkoso!

Hm, the second line from the bottom doesn't seem right... actually, isn't that what "yoroshiku" actually mean?

Chuugaku san nen sei no toki kara desu.
Ima wa, watashi wa benkyou o tsuzukiteru ga kangaeteru. (Not sure if I said that right, but what I mean is that I'm thinking about continuing to study it. Sometimes, I understand the words I'm gonna use, but don't know how to form the sentence correctly >_<)

@Asder
owh..ok..nonetheless i left out the "i" in yoroshiku..^^
kamsa-hamnida\(^^)/

btw correct me if im wrong^^;
-san => callin a person with respect either you know em or not.
-kun => callin a person with friendly feeling.
-chan =>callin a person which are close to you.

is that right?

The -san is pretty right, but the next ones aren't really right...

-kun: Usually used for boys. Can also be used to subordinate to replace -kohai (which could be considered rude), regardless of gender.
-chan: Usually used for girl and little children. Use for a boy only if he's a close family member or a very close friend who lets you use it.

Haha Cassie san, you don't have to call me that! :O We are all part of the club! And, yes please do give links, it is most helpful!

Anyway, youkoso laiostoo, unfortunately a manual won't be posted as it would have to be 1000 or so pages long, but I am hoping that if we all contribute to this thread down the road we will all have a good proficiency in Japanese, but it won't happen over night. If we are going to learn Japanese this thread will be very long! So, let's do it minna!! Gunbare!!

Also, let me know if you want me to do "lessons", and if you will read them, because I won't bother if you guys aren't interested. Tell me what you want to see here! If you like the "lessons", and will read them...that's great! Also, you don't have too, but please contribute whatever you'd like!!

i just noticed that the japanese language is very "gender" orientated
like the suffixes for names are different and some parts of speech are divided in to 2 sects (Girls/Boys)

O_o wouldnt this thread be difficult to explain to people because of that?

Shinjirui, that's why Katt said this thread would be very long.
People who have learned some Japanese before might not have a big problem about it, but it sure would be tough for those who learn from scratch.

Oh, and Katt, it'll be good if you make lessons like you said; I'll try to make sure I read them ^_^

I can read and write Japanese...its just my sentences aren't perfectly fluent. And I don't know how to say random stuff. Which is a real problem for me, cuz I am random. Haha.

I know a lot of words though :)

Gomen, gomen. (Sorry, sorry.) :P

@Katt: いいえ、私の名前は「ふしぎ遊戯」からではありません。名前は「聖なる」の「聖」と「竜」の合体です。その時、これは四像の一の名前が知りませんでした (清龍)。
iie, watashi no namae ha [Fushigi Yuugi] kara dewa arimasen. namae wa [seinaru] no [sei] to [ryuu] no kattai desu. Sono toki, kore wa [yonzou] (<-Not sure if that's the correct reading) no ichi no namae ga shirimasen deshita (Seiryuu).
(No, my name does not come from Fushigi Yuugi. It's a combination of the kanji of holy and dragon. At the time, I didn't know if that it was one of the four symbols' name, Seiryuu [(Read the same, different kanji.)]

私はいつで日本語を勉強するをはじめましたか?中学生一年生の前にかなを読むのことが出来ました。それは多分私の勉強するの起点。
watashi wa itsu de nihongo wo benkyou suru wo hajimemashita ka? chuugakusei ichinen no mae ni kana wo yomu no koto ga dekimashita. Sore wa tabun watashi no benkyou no kiten.
(When did I start studying Japanese? I could read kana before grade 7. That was probably my starting point of studying.)

Oh, and I think "futatsu no shitsumon" or "shitsumon ga futatsu" would be good to use as a counter.
