Yeah, I think it might be my old computer. Gonna have to get updated. =_= I'm not sure where the info is on my computer though, otherwise I'd post them. I remember I only have 128 RAM or something (not a lot, lol). Everything else I don't remember. And the model is pretty old. |

i like tech stuff any issues you have i m here to help i saw something about the audio plating faster than the video and vice versa okay this happen because you computer has little ram i suggest upgrading to larger ram my suggestion 1bg to begin with i recommend 2gb now your wondering why right>? well its because as new programs make there way to us the consumers they usually take a lot of ram to run because of hoe the software is made but anyhow the point is what counts here in the skipping of audio is ram WHAT YOU NEED IS MORE RAM Also i saw something else liek a player that does not play .mkv or if it does it play them fuzzy or does not at all well here is what you can do ::::::: THIS IS WHAT I DID You should have wmp 11 if you don't get it!! I'm telling you this because sometimes the .avi codec already comes with it But then you need it with what i m about to tell you this is the perfect combo And i have had no problems what so ever with this so heres what you do Download the latest CCCP i know some of you don't like it or tried and hated it but it works wonders if you know how to configure it right download it and install it install all of it except the zoom player its of no use But keep the wmpclassic that a gem when your about to install it it will say If you want to resgister the extensions to wmp check it Then just install it and configure it i suggest leaving it the way it is unless you know what to do then to test it get a avi. File and click it it will open with wmp because you registered it to it Now your wondering about the .mkv files okay heres the deal When you click it it will not work beacuse it does not recognize the file type No matter all you do to fix this is right click it and choose program to open it with it will say 2 options wmp or wmp classic you click on mwp classic and wolla it will open and play it nice and clear with full sound so anytime you open a .mkv file it will always open with wmp classic and you can make it bigger with out no interference to the audio or the video And that concludes my lecture on this missconception This is the best combo because wmp classic has good subtittle renduring and you can virtually play any file type with these combo if it does not work with wmp it will work with wmp classic This is what i have and i have had no problems what so ever this really concludes mt help/tips if you want yo add me to your buddy list go ahead i would really appreciate it |

lol, I use Zoom and VLC (a lot more). Though I haven't stumbled upon an anime viewing problem yet, which is good. :3 I already installed the CCCP, maybe that's why I don't have issues? But yeah, I'm good, haha. ------- |

If you are experiencing audio/video desync problems or see subtitles lagging behind, consider downloading the xvid or lower resolution versions. Most groups that release mkv files release multiple formats for that reason, since many in the world are still behind in technology. None of that matters if you don't have the right codecs/filters but CCCP takes care of that. @Animagus- Please do not call it WMPClassic, or WMPC. It's MPC, or simply Media Player Classic. This is to not confuse it with WMP (Windows Media Player) which doesn't even recognize the mkv extension. It does play the file, but nowhere near as well as other players. Refrain from using all caps as it is difficult to read your post. I see the whole video player debate time and time again and it really boils down to "If it works for you, then use it." Of course, how well it works for you also depends on how you've got the settings. |

yeah my bad for the caps but yeah in the end it all ends up if it really works for you dont' worry i will remember mpc ok thanks also you gatta watch out for extra stuff witch can mix up with other filters which can make your audio and vieo loopy or distraught so when installing new players or codecs check the dates because updated one usually comw with extra stuff which is optional all in general is don't install anything quick take your time and read every step or else you will have problems too which you won't be aware of |

Truthfully .mkv are not common among WMP (windows media player) and Quick time id truthfully suggest changeing the format with a free program that you can just download Any Video Converter (just google Any Video Converter) and you can change it to play in windows or what ever. |

Oh! I think what i`m gonna post is for this topic... So... I discovered Media Player classic last year when i still was with a windows XP... The problem now is that i changed computer for a windows Vista and now mkv. files won`t open in Media Player. I did a test and i played a promo video that comes with the computer and it played in the MPC. So... Where i am going wrong? |

@Dfly These are the end-all instructions to play Matroska (MKV) files. Provided your computer is fast enough to decode the high quality video that is often found in Matroska files, following these will get them playing.
You should be good to go from here, however it is my personal recommendation that you set all types of media files, music and video, to open with MPC when you double click them. If you would like this to happen:
At this point it would be a good idea to test an MKV file and see if any subtitles appear. If they do, congratulations! You win a lifetime of worry free anime enjoyment. If they don't appear when you know there should be subs, you'll have a bit more tweaking to do.
This covers all the problems I've had with video files recently. If you want to watch either RealMedia files (RVMB) or Quicktime files (MOV) download and install whichever of the following suits your needs. These will install filters compatible with MPC and you can continue using it as your only media player! Real Alternative (get the lite edition so you don't end up with a second copy of MPC) Quicktime Alternative (also lite edition, aka QT Lite) |

Too bad Zoom Player doesn't have a Mac version. Although VLC mac plays .mkv files, it always has to buffer for a few seconds before playing. ------- |

yes as long as your computer can handle running high def/quality videos. theres not point in downloading it if you have an old computer that cant handle watching it. |
