I can remember just after 9-11, he popped up inbetween some commercials on animal planet. He was very serious, and expressed his sympathies to the US for what had happened. I had never seen him serious like that, like he wasn't performing or anything, it was moving for me, and I'll always remember that.

Well don't underestimate the stingray. The one that did him in was an 8 ft long one. When they are that big they don't just sting, they stab right through you. I am glad he died doing what he did best. Sure only 2 people were killed by sting rays before, but not many ever trying swimming with them either. He had guts and died with pride.

Come on, how could anyone predict that he would be stung by a stibg ray in the heart? That barb would have had to travel through a rib or something to even get at his heart which any educated person knows is quite unlikely ( His sternum should have stopped the barb). And about those who are ignorant, steve irwin was a great man who educated the masses about the beauty of wildife and the importance of conservation. No other man accomplished what steve did for the animals of the world, I mean come on would you even know what a blue ringed octopus was if you dint watch steve irwin? The answer is no, his show created a way to educate people about animals in a way that they could understand and be entertained by at the same time. For all those who place him on the same level as the idiots at jackass, shame on you! Steve was a man who accomplished more than many of us will in our entire lives, and he died for what he believed in. Let's all pray for steve and not critisize him.

I still can not believe the Steve is gone. And it is sad and all the Today show could show was his interview with Matt when he talked about taking his baby boy in the pen with a croc. Like that was his shiny achievement. I was so mad at that and they should have did something with his shiny achievement for conservation of wildlife in Austrailia and the world. Ttyl.

Seriously, the news of Steve's death was like a kick in the balls to me (actually more like a stingray bob to the balls). My god though, what are the chances that a stingray would actually stab you (they usually just run away...unless they are cornered) let alone stab you in the heart!

I'm just glad that ole Steve died doing what he loved best, observing nature...which I guess nature didn't really like.

You need a reason to be sad. You don't need a reason to be happy. The secret to happiness is to face the fact that the world is horrible.

that's totally wicked O_O (croc hunter's accent)

and totally depressing. I already heard the news while I was watching Animal Planet, a message scrolled at the screen saying "Crocodile Hunter will currently be suspended because of the death of........"
