Original Dragonball is better then the entire series, cause after Original Dragonball, the series failed...Yu-Gi-Oh is popular cause of the card game, same with Pokemon. Miyazaki Hatao is like the best director in anime today.

Naruto, Full Metal Alchemist, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Gundam titles. Naruto is good, it's one of my favorites, but, it's typical shonen. Great characters, but the show is lacking. Full Metal Alchemist is good, another favorite of mine, but the anime got screwed over so badly. Just because the director likes Lust and Gluttony Envy was no longer the main bad guy like he is in the manga. Yes, they ran out of manga at one point being it is still running, but, even when they still had manga to go off of they changed things. The manga is much better. Neon Genesis Evangelion. A bunch of whiny kids and a bunch of religous crap. Yeah, I understand it, and I don't need some guy who isn't all up there telling me what he thinks the secrets of the universe are. Gundam titles..All of them have plot holes big enough to drive a sixteen wheeler through, but some of them are good. There's a few others..But meh, that's just my opinion. :P |

FF7: Advent Children Oh yeah I can only imagine how mad some people are right now. Im sorry but the story was just so bad. Anyone whos played FF7 knows what im talking about. The story of FF7 sucked you in and didnt let go until you beat the game in the 70-80 hours it took most people to beat. And then after several years or waiting we get a movie....and its just plain bad. Now dont get me wrong, FF7 had amazing CG and mind blowing fight scenes. And thats it. No character building, no real good dialog, nothing. In fact, the cutscene in KH2 with Tifa and Cloud was more interesting to me then anything in the movie. Its just good for watching some cool fights. And at what point and time did Sephiroth change his goals from becoming god to turning the planet into a ship to ride through space??? |

Yeah I didnt like Eva to much either. It has some interest but I mean, I know its a giant robot show meant to focus on the growing up of a young boy. But as hard as I tried I just couldnt give a crap about the boy. FMA I couldnt say. I mean I love the anime but ive never read the manga so I cant compare. Until I do, ill keep loving the anime. Inuyasha, ill admit I really enjoy Inuyasha...until about 80 episodes in when im just bored and wanting a final ending already...when its STILL going to this day. |

For anyone who can liken there situation to one of Evangelions main characters it will be one of the best shows ever. Otherwise you probably won't like it very much. InuYasha is over-rated but I love it. Pokemon was great in it's first season. After that it kind of lost inspiration. It's stiill watchable, but nothing can compare after the episodes where they introduced Sabrina, or where Team Rocket attacked the St. Anne. I would love to become a writer for the series and over-haul it, because I love the foundation. Team Rocket (not Jessie, James, and Meowth.) would commit more heinous crimes more frequently, and have a bit of success once in awhile. I would introduce more psychological depth to the series as well. The only really complex characters right now are Jessie, James, and Meowth. I would change that. Dragon Ball Z used to be over-rated, but today somehow it's become everyone's punching bag. You all loved it 7 years ago, what the **** changed? |

| There was this series Pokemon Chronicals that had that team rocket edge you were looking for. Team Rocket was a little more evil, wasnt jessie and james, and it starred Jimmy (based off gold and silver main character). However that was only for 5 episodes or so, after that it switched back to stupid Brock and misty and stuff. |

Probably... Inuyasha (It's a good thing nobody has posted THIS yet.) Naruto (This show is more hyped than Tiger Woods.) Neon Genesis Evangelion (It's a good show but creating a damn religion off of it is just too much for me.) Yu-gi-oh (Whatever it takes too sell you card products bud.) Pokemon (Same here, but with villians that they probably pulled out of a 50s sitcom.) Shadow Skill (This show isn't even worth the small fanbase that it has.)

They KILLED Pokemon in the game... I am going to do a sprite comic with my own, more complex versions of the main characters. Ash will have severe pyschological problems, as a result of being the best Pokemon trainer in the world and lacking a new goal. But Naruto really is over-hyped. The only character I really like is the title character. I know it's a ninja show, but not enough color. There is a complex aray of ninja skills, which I applaud, but the story is too simple. It also bothers me how alike Gaara is to Sephiroth in terms of back-story. |

I'm just going to be different and say Cowboy Bebop. It left too many things hanging, but I wouldn't want a sequel, prequel would be good for the series. Also, who was Faye, why did the gateway accident happened, plus how did Spike loses one of his eyes O.O *gets pillows* I still love Cowboy bebop to death though!  |

Well, if you ask me... I also think Spirited Away is overrated but then again the plot is too thick for me to understand. When I watched it I was like "What? Huh? I dont get it @_@" But then again Oscar winning movies are... well... for me not that good. I think it just depends on the person watching the show @_@ |

Obviously Naruto and Bleach. Too long and too many fillers just to keep the manga/anime going as long as it can possibly go. And Vampire Knight is definitely overrated. I feel like the only reason why so many girls like it is because of Kaname and Zero (or maybe just the concept of vampires and how good looking all the characters are) >__> The plot of VK is getting increasingly complicated/boring and there's no longer any focus on the topic of romance between human and vampire b/c "omg!!" it turns out Yuuki is a pure blood vampire!!! O____O" Okay, there's just no focus on romance any longer -__- And I can't stand the incest between Yuuki and Kaname X___x I just don't understand what's so "hot" about vampires (You'd be right to guess that I don't like the "Twilight" series) Someone care to explain?

Even though I really like it, Naruto is definitely overrated. I kinda agree with the OP about Spirited Away, I liked Princess Mononoke much more than SA. Evangelion is a favorite of mine, but I don't really see it as overrated. Some fanboys/girls may do it, but I don't think its as bad anymore. |

Naruto, the most over-rated show in the 21st century, it'll be hard for other shows to snatch away that title in the future. One Piece comes close in the second position GSD isn't just heavily over-rated, it also brought shame to the gundam universe. Everyone is pretty, everyone has a gundam, everyone spams laser. And finally, it reawakens the stereotype of gundam -> bishonens -> yaoi (Gundam Wing) for girls, which is very irritating... SEED was okay, but the crappiness of GSD took SEED along to the dumpster. Thankfully, Astray and Stargazer saved the series
