Well... I've up till book 7. Shizuka Hio died in Book 4... And if you know the artist well, you'll know that she's quite slow. Approximately 1/2 year per book. Yeah... I sure don't want them to stray away like Naruto and Bleach... I think even Soul Eater got 1 episode (2nd story on Excalibur) that did that.  |

*Has only read volume one of VK manga.* It was too shiny and sparkly for me to keep reading for some reason. ^^;; @Engel: O_o Wait, fill me in for a sec. ._. So you're saying that the manga and anime are pretty much even as to progress of the story line? If so then...I wonder how the anime is going to handle it. It kind of sucks when they stray from the creators original ideas. But if I guess that's the situation their stuck in, we'll just have hope for the best and don't make the story too far fetched. >.> |

Awww... fruit basket... don't remind me. But I do wonder how far they will go for VK cause the manga (single books) are still near where the season 1 ends. For some reason, most anime I watch will not go beyond their manga (single books) storyline... even though the manga (weekly ver) has a much more further storyline for it to chase. |

Yeah, it'd kind of suck if it just ended at 26 episodes without continuing the story to it's fullest. >.> I'd hate to see a great shoujo anime like this end with an open ending like Fruits Basket. XD I'd go crazy without my bishies. |

Yes, the 2nd season(continuing with episode 14) doesn't start until October. I think the production studio is waiting for more of the manga chapters to be released before they start the anime again and so that is why they have the pause. Episode 13 sped through the Zero arc already so looks like the 2nd season will start the Kaname arc. I really like Zero much more than Kaname so I hope he still plays a big role in the second season. Sadly Vampire Knight and Junjou romantica are both taking a pause, so there goes my two fav animes of spring season >_<.  |

Is it just me or has there been no anime release these 2 weeks? Has the 1st season ended? I know the 2nd season (call Guilty??) is gonna be up in Oct! |

What?! o_O That sucks... I'm really enjoying the anime. Episode 12 was a cliffhanger. They'll definitely wrap up the first season with another BIG cliffhanger, I'm sure. my weekly dose of Vampire knight is gone! >_< i might read the manga if i can't control myself to see what happens in the story. |

The story is started to progress very nicely. I am curious as to why Maria would be so kind to Ichiru? I stopped reading the manga from here on so it will be nice to watch the anime with more of a surprise as to what will happen next =P Anyways, so it was annouced on ANN that Vampire Knight will have its last episode of the first season next Monday >_< and then the second season won't air until the fall season in October. I wonder what kind of cliffhanger they will have after eps. 13.... |

^___^ Finally caught up to the latest episode, which would be 9. o.o Opening changed a little, they added a small clip. First I was kinda like, "-.- Wait, was this here before?" So yeah, it was kind of suprising. =.= Having never read the manga, all I have to say about ep 9 is that Maria is kinda creepy and has weird hair. O_o |

Well, the funny thing is, I USED to be a big fan of the VK manga...but now it feels like it's just being dragged out and I want it to end. -.-" Way too many things going on right now that are making the manga seem like it's going no where. I don't normally like switching back and forth to read a manga and then watch an anime and then go back to reading the manga. Depending on the length of the series, if it's short, I'd read the manga then watch it. If it's long like Naruto, D.Gray-man, or Katekyo Hitman REBORN!, then it's either one or the other, which is mostly reading the manga because it came out first and I'd prefer reading what the original mangaka intended to happen in the series. Occasionally, I'll watch the anime to see how my favorite scenes in the manga are played out, but I wouldn't watch every single episode. Maybe, when it really comes down to it...I'd just read or watch whichever comes out first. Take Code Geass/Code Geass R2 for example. The anime came out before the manga, so I'm watching that instead of reading it. But for mostly everything else, the manga usually comes out first. ^o^' Ah well, it honestly just depends on the person and his or her preference. Sorry for writing so much and taking up space in this thread! >o<

I know how it feels especially when you're a big manga fan of a particular series. You want everyone to appreciate the manga first before the anime. =O In my case though, i find your habit surprising. o.O I usually stop following a series or get bored when I read the manga ahead of the anime like in the case of naruto (i stopped watching the anime), Reborn (i don't follow the releases faithfully unlike in the past) etc... Well, it all boils down to individual preferences. Rin agrees with me! yay! ^_^ |

O_o' Well, I do understand that everyone has their own preference of if they'd rather watch a series and then read it or read then watch. ^o^ Personally, I find more thrill reading then watching because even though I already know everything that has happened in a manga, I'm still surprised when I watch the same thing happen in an anime. Haha, I'm so weird. @w@ I find it self-amusing that when I go through this forum and I see people making predictions about what they think will happen, I just want to shout out the answer and be like, "THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS BECAUSE IT ALREADY HAPPENED IN THE MANGA!!" But I can't, because that would be a spoiler. :3

I prefer watching the anime first then read the manga where the anime stopped. Vampire knight is a very good series and I can't wait to see how the story unfolds. If i'll read the manga, i can understand the whole story in one sitting since the story is more established with the number of chapters out. If I'll do that, I'll kill the fun of watching the anime T_T |
