The term's getting old, but it's all mostly true. Otakus hyped up on Naruto can be called Narutards either for comical purposes or as a derogatory term. I personally use the term because I see too many of them in my school, and I can't stand it. Sorry if I offend anyone, but I can't help it at all. ;p    |

| Um...so? Naruto is a bit overrated as is. It seems like most anime fans now only want to watch Naruto, Bleach, and Gundam Seed (at best), and have a very superficial interest in Japanese culture. And think "baka" is the best word ever and the fact they know the word is sooo incredibly impressive (though it won't impress Japanese, especially those from around the Osaka area). |

even if that's all true, don't you think there's a reason that a lot of people are hooked on those shows? ever try watching one and not critisize it? and i agree withThe Chosen One.

Completely agree Miu but then to be truthful most Naruto fans also havent watched much other anime so they really don't have anything to judge by. they really cannot say that Naruto is the best anime out there because they havent seen other ones. I myself have never seen Naruto but I am sure that there are qualities in it that makes the giant diversion between the "i love naruto" people and the "i hate naruto" people. I have talked to many fans about Naruto and my personal view on Naruto isn't all that positive. But if they go out and watch a larger variety of anime and then they come back to me and still say that they think Naruto is the best then i will respect that. But if they go around talking about how Naruto is better than (enter personal favourite anime here) and starts bashing my anime without ever even seeing it then they would just be stupid. i feel like i repeated myself a couple time =P

I think Naruto is the kind of anime you would include in "popular" genre. It may not be very good, but these kind of anime has the most fans. If I think it over, Naruto is highly overrated. In most aspect, it's fairly good but far from being able to be considered the best.

The way Naruto is influencing the market is the same way DBZ, Pokemon, and Yugioh have influenced the market. Long-running, not-too-complicated of a plot, and recycled themes are what made these anime popular. Naruto is becoming the same way, though it has a bigger impact because of the whole 'ninja' theme. I mean, what's "cooler" than a ninja? Try asking any American that and see what response you get. |

Well, I don't think that Naruto is 100% evil either. Though I've given up on the anime, I still consider the manga amusing.

wow! that hurt me as if I was punched right in the chest.I mean Naruto isn't bad nor perfect, others may see it negative(due to some fans)but didn't they have to go that far.Man that angered me!!

I'm a fan (only of the manga... stupid fillers), but I have to admit, some of that stuff true and hilarious. I hope no one is upset about this, but what's up with buying headbands?
