I want to write a save game editor for a new and popular RPG. The problem is, I don't know which RPGs are good! What is your favorite RPG (for SNES/NES/GBA/NDS) that has not already been added to this list? Thanks for your help!

| Lufia 2 was my first favorite RPG, a neat storyline, a decent battle system, and good music. Knocked the living crap out of Lufia 1, in my opinion. |

I attempted Lufia 2 but got stuck on the checksum... took me a week to finally admit it was WAY too complicated! Today i started work on Breath of Fire 1 for SNES, and cracked the checksum in the FIRST TRY! Wheeee!!! Fire Emblem and Treasure Hunter G, eh? thanks for the ideas guys! ^_^

how about chrono trigger (snes) that's one of my favourite rpg's :) i know a lot of pl who love it one i need is sword of mana (gba) its hard :(  |

Can I ask a question? What is the save game editor meant to do? Make it so that you can choose what state your are in when you load? Like get rid of Status changes?

my Save Game Editors allow you to change your character's statistics, give yourself gold, and add any items to your inventory! the goal is for the program to be like a cheat code where you can edit any field you want. the way i do it is by staring at the contents of the save game file and model which fields correspond to which things in the game, then i write an interface to edit them.

save game editor? change the stats of characters! cool! the ultimate cheat! why not try super mario rpg? anyway i need a snes emulator to use this save game editors right? |

@ Zparticus yes you need to have a snes emulator so you can play snes games as well as these game editors Do you have by chance, try Castlevania? Any part of the series will do, I think there's also Castlevania at SNES if I could remember. But the game is ActionRPG I don't think you can do more to it but just in case.  |
