|

Yeah, I agree that the Metal Gear could probably created, if people took the time to. The EVA would be far too difficult, due to the imaginary biological components. Quite frankly, I would assume that the simpler the mech is, the greater the chance of it being made right now... In the future though, who knows? |

How about the perscoms from Chobits? They would help you out when you're older I think... but I recently watched the Animatrix and people started beating them up so I'm not sure if this is a good idea or not. Me and my friends tried make a humanoid butler/maid robot. It's supposed to look anybody you want except the AI crapped out by trying to destroy stuff. So we're not making it anymore. BTW the butler looks like Sasuke from Naruto. |

I have a hunch that the Gundams will be created before mankind expires..that would be awesome and I would love to pilot one! but that's alot of technology and you need some skilled pilots. and weapons are gonna be a factor, like that beam sword that Heero usually uses in close hand to hand combat ------- |

Mechs are possible today but may be hard to develop, here are some things to consider. The body itself would be difficult to develop, they would need to find out how to effectively keep balance of the mech without hindering movement or becomeing too lightly armored. Next weapons should also be easily accessible, and have different types for different situations/ Eg anti-armor, support, and anti personel, ETC. Also theres production of everything, which can be difficult with the sheer size of the mech as well as it's weapons. The final thing is recruiting pilots, thay would need technical skills and much training just to move the mech effectively, which could be hard unless AI's or support Systms could be used to automanage the several aspects of the mech. A mech is entirely possible but not perfect, some downfalls are that thay may need time to charge up before startup, the legs, if destroyed, would render the unit immobile( Explosives or Demo charges could do this ) even if it could fly that would reqire much fuel for the Mech's size. Urban ( in a Town, City, Etc) fighting with a Mech is also a bad thing, the size of it coulds cause many damages, and moveing through crowded areas would be a disaster. But on the plus side, on large terrains, mechs would be an amazing force to have. the size and firepower of it would probably send bad guys running, and considering today's world, useing mechs could be useful, scince there are few countrys that even rival US technolegy levels, let alone the bad guys. But it goes down to the pilots, if well trained, may be greater thean the mech itself. Whoops! got carried away! Srry for talking, err typing, so much.. Anyway I think Full Metal Panics's mechs could be real, Besides the one's with Lambda Drivers, Like the ARX7(Arblast) and Behemoth. |

The marionettes. they are less complicated than the persocoms, the gundams and evangelion. If they're considered as mecha, that is. |

still macross. after all there original design are based on a "real" f19 jet fighter. |

Macross is definately possible, the groin/leg focal axis thing is certainly impractical, but I could see something like GERWALK jet fighters at the very least. The destroid units from the same series also seem quite practical. The Meltran power armour also works quite well as a concept, if it were scaled for human use, and mounted grenades rather than missiles for size reasons... There are also the mecha units in Garasaki, I've only seen the first few eppisodes and am under the impression that some sort of super robot was introduced later... But yeah, the early mechs they were using to dissable tanks and in urban environments are fairly close to mechanized suits that governments and sci-fi authors worldwide have been interested in. Sol Tekkaman (not Radam Tekkaman) units are also quite practical by design. Something like the balls from gundam are certainly practical as well, it's that sort of mobile working pod that we'll probably be using when arms mounted on a space station becomes increasingly impractical due to sheer size. |
