I'd be more than willing to help if you post some more info, is this already encoded into divx? do you want to just watch it with subtitles but not necessarily recode the video to have them in it?, and lastly, do you already have the subtitles in a separate file?

Well, assuming all of that's true, then you should download BS player from here http://www.filehippo.com/download_bsplayer/ and after you install it run the video in it and select to open the subtitle file with it.

If one of those isn't true though, then I can still help you, I just need to know more specifics.

sorry for the lack infos. last time i'm in rush.

actually, for my case. it's my own movie. i captured many photos with the digi camera and i want to make a movie with it. i put anime songs as the background music. so, i want to put the translation of the song into the movie. so, that's basically the case was.

i use windows movie maker to make the movie because i don't have other software. plus, i also don't known which software is better. you just can say, i'm a beginner with this.

i think that's all to it.

there's alot of subtiling softwares out there and most of them are free^^
here are some of the subtitle software i use to add karaoke and subs:-
Subtitle Processor
Sabbu
you should save the subtitle files as .ssa extention and you'd need vobsub(use to view the subs) and Virtual DubMod(use to embed subs to your movie)

To do it in Windows Movie Maker just create a text title and click to set it up as an overlay on top of the main video(not block out the main video) and open it's properties and set it to subtitle. That should do it.

Try Adobe Premiere 1.5 Pro. But I'm telling you, this software is pretty complicated to use!

usually when i want to change files such as : .wma, .avi, .ogg, .mkv....etc

i just rename the extention in to wateva format i want (fastest way to do it). if it doesn't work i'll use a converter program.

@chiyo84: No, no, no. Just renaming the extention is BAD. Don't do that. It doesn't change anything about the file except the name. It might happen to still play by some fluke but it certainly doesn't do anything else for you besides change what program the file opens with (if that). When converting between video formats, always use a converter program of sorts.

i agree with psoplayer.renaming the format like that might cause the player not to play the video.

talking about converting video formats...anybody know how to encode raw anime video to look like a DVD format video....something like how Lunar Fansubs made their fansubs looks like it was ripped from a DVD.
i've exprerimented with alot of setting with my xvid encoder but i get bad effects most of the time T_T...using VirtualDubMod by the way.
